I think some people just don't understand what the witness is there for, they are supposed to have contradictions that might implicate someone else.

Most cases I've had are fine but you do get people that either make a completely solid testimony and refuse to budge at all.

if you're trying to press for information and you have a reason for it you will never get a penalty
before you press, ask yourself if it's relevant
keep that reason in mind, if the prosecution challenges it with muh irrelevancy state your reason for pressing
if you can't come up with a reason you shouldn't have pressed
if the prosecution is just asking for penalties every time you press a good judge will eventually penalize them for wasting time
my last 3 games as DA I got no penalties
the prosecution got around 7

Prosecution : Makes sure the defendant is guilty

Witness : You talk about what you saw, it can be either written in the case document or you will have to improv something

Judge : You make sure everyone is following the rules, give penalities, and hand down a verdict based on who has the better argument and who can prove its claims

Support/co : You can either support defense or prosecution, the only difference is that usually if you play as support you are supposed to follow your leads and give them hints instead of taking the spotlight
