It's similar to that. If you die once you're reset back to level 1.

There's a bunch of other limitations such as:
-You need 2x the EXP to level
-You cannot party
-You can only run Dungeons on max difficulty (After difficulty revamp Hardcore characters run dungeons on Master and not Slayer)
-You have no Dungeon Mini Map
-You cannot any kind of Revival. No passive revival and no revival buffs.
-You cannot use APCs
-You cannot make a Dark Knight, Creator, or Knight in Hardcore Mode
-If you die in PVP it counts as a PVE death and will reset you back to level 1
-If you die in ToDes it counts as PVE death and will reset you back to level 1
-If you die in Black Dragon Tournament it coungs as a PVE death and will reset you back to level 1

There's some minor benefits:
-You have double FP
-You can do 10 Floors of Tower of Despair a day
-If you're in the top 3 hardcore characters of the month you will be on display next to Iris (It's the podium where the DFOG tournament players are currently standing on).

There's three exclusive titles that hardcore characters can earn:
-Killing someone else's hardcore character in PVP
-Reaching level 85
-Clearing Tower of Despair

the pieces cost different prices. special equip being the most expensive. but you would probably want to use an element stone instead of a chron stone so that leaves subequip. but with subequip its better to use ones that give you damage until you drop it for a 9pc effect so usually people go for top.

Don't worry about gear if you're just making one for the event.

Launcher is fun and pretty cheap since it's mostly fixed. And who doesn't love big guns, when AiO comes out their heavy weapon mastery will function like it should instead of disappearing while you're channeling

While yes F.ranger is like dante, she's way more acrobatic since she's built around kicks and when AiO comes out she'll get her funblade passive giving her another move set using the skill key. I personally find Bloodia very fun once I get back into the groove of using her.

Fspit's like Launcher in fixed since she largely builds around her grenades. She becomes a bomber plane with AiO since she gets a jet pack. Up until she's a valkyrie, some of her skills are always physical tho that gets changed with a tp skill turning select physical skills into magical

Fmech, is relatively decent midgame but ghent and onward she begins to suffer. She's one of the people that benefits rather well from AiO since robotics gets extended to G-series for her and she can convert everything to light damage. Another downside is she is probably the biggest money sink since she needs a lot to be good. Bloodia/CR are the second biggest money sink for obvious reasons.

I personally love my three Fgunner's so it's kind of a toss up though the easiest one to use is definitely launcher.
