Blatant cash grab, low drop rates, circling the drain.
Doubly worse after they terribly worded the event as if we were getting keys to use. Like seriously how badly can you fuck up the wording of that shit?
And it turns out the vendor exists, too. But still, as far as forums go from this event, you can potentially get an amount of service tokens lower than the amount you can buy.
So yeah, not worth. 0/10
>mfw even the usual carbine dick suckers are saying the event is shitty and requiring cashshop keys is scummy as hell
If you're a fan of running fast and never breaking your legs, it's pretty great. Short-term, it's fun. Long-term, it isn't as useful.
If you want to help people more, you're better off with Settler or Scientist.
Still can't decide what class i want to be
I was gonna be an engineer until i found out it was the pet class.
I'm torn up between rogue and cowboy.wizard.
Does the cowboy wizard actually have some interesting spells or is it just "shoot people, then shoot people some more"?
Dongslonger has some pretty neat shit. At least more than just shooting.
Some of his cool shit includes Gate, which is an instant teleport that displaces whoever you hit with it on your starting location, and Void Slip, which is pretty much his "get out of jail free" card as a skill. Stalkers can get the same thing, but as an AMP instead of a skill.
Apart from that, most of his things include shooting, shooting more, and Spellsplurging to shoot better.
If i wanted a human waifu i'd leave home.
ERP still exists. Next to raiding, that's the endgame.
Also, the vest >>127826031 has exists. It's from the Freelancer set and just about everyone wears it. If you see RP and a person's in that vest, they probably fuck.
There are quite a few rp hubs meant for finding ERP. Good ones, even,
>buy two keys with service tokens
>both lopp boxes are about 31 gold
thought about quitting for a second there
At the end of the personal story chapter for level 10, you get a black lion key as a reward. Those keys open the gambling chests that have tickets for prestigious weapon skins, back pieces, various convenience items, so on. The keys can only be obtained otherwise through doing map completion or buying them.
>looked through my alts
>didn't open my final rucksack on one
>okay, time to see what the fuss is all about
>open shiny box
>get a high rune
Fuck it. I was gonna spend money on that. If that can happen, then just fuck it. I'll save it for the next event.
Yea it did, and like anyone who isn't an idiot already knew, 2 months later they would be right back where they were. The majority of current MMO "players" don't care about the game in any way, they are only there because its new and they can talk about how cool they are for playing it on social media with everyone else. As soon as another game is playable or has a big update they will jump to that and so on and so on.
MMOs are a dying breed
WoW is bleeding subscribers like nobody's business and most other MMOs are F2P because they don't have 10 years of content or subscriber money
Gaming is more popular, and your "average" person doesn't have time to spend doing shit in an MMO. So more MMOs are adding more quality of life things. The problem with that it MMOs are supposed to be about socializing. When you remove the need to work with other players, you just end up with a shittier version of other games.
So I set all of my binds up on a character specific bind set while leveling yesterday, then I logged in today and all of the binds were undone on that character. Is there a way to fix that?
I also have a good deal of
mordesh they are my favorite
who's the genius at carbine who thought this event was a good idea?
The crazy part is that Space Chase was the good attempt of the RNG boxes. It didn't have a high chance for the amazing loot, but the "bad" loot was good enough, as far as decor went.
These boxes give high runes and iron ore. That's awful.
Exactly. Making the 'bad' loot still usable and desirable is the key to rng boxes.
If they would have put rare dyes, costume pieces, class rune stuff, even 20 progenitor particles, the disgust wouldn't have been nearly as bad.
Fucking high rune and a common dye... fuck off crabmine.
In fact, speaking of bad loot, even Space Chase 2 is good on loot. Decor is there, and there's even a larger amount of awesome shit to get. They just fucked up hard on this one.
Oh god, it was worse than I thought
>Carbine actually admitting the event was a bad idea after the backlash
>Sweeping it under the rug
There's gonna be a huge fucking lump under that rug.
It is unjewish. The most jewish right now is probably that limited time event.
The biggest impact is that you can't make or invite people to a guild, can't make an arena or warparty team, and can't make or invite to circles, though you can only join one instead of five. Apart from that, you get just about everything, albeit in limited quantities, such as only having three buy and sell orders on markets and whatnot.
literally nothing except the cosmetic stuff in the shop
also if you raid the service tokens will save you from blowing your brains out trying to farm the gold to rune your shit
I got survivalist since i'm an architect, but wood is extremely fucking cheap in the auction house, should i just switch to mining?
By the way can someone add Bryanna Grayvale to the guild? Exile side.
I don't want to spend too much time on this game if I won't be able to do end game content.
I used to play WoW at 300ms but this one seems to be more focused on dodging stuff than WoW.
It consumes 25% of your spell surge bar to provide some effect to your next cast.
Early on it doesn't matter much, use it to boost damage or charge spells faster. Later on when you surge will be an important part of your rotation (if you DPS, as a healer you pretty much always have it on).
>all Madame Fay shit being replaced next week
>decide to finally buy Orbitron (Classic) because the last I saw there were fifty in the AH at like 1p, and might as well
>someone bought them all and has one listed at 100p
Within an hour and a half of the announcement, too. I barely thought 1p was worth it and have a hard time believing anyone is going to pay 100x that amount.
>Which is more fun to play as Warrior or Medic?
No idea. Though research paths before you make your choice.
>Which server has the most of /w*g/ population?
PvE. Either faction should be fine.
Personally, Medic's a bit more complicated, but definitely more fun. Warrior is the simplest of classes, and if you want fun quickly, that's there for you.
Also, PvE is where it's at.
>I can't stand these graphics.
This is a valid opinion. But keep in mind that the overly cartoony appearance means that the graphics won't look as dated in a few years when the goalposts for "realism" have moved further up the line.
>Is there a way to change haircut and body size?
Appearance modification vendors in your faction's capital city. Though they might still have these out in the world as well.
>Is the game's story okayish
Yes. If you're not one of those people that stacks XP buffs and rushes through as fast as possible. Though there two tiers of quests, where one advances the story, and one is for tasks in a given area. I did everything I came across and enjoyed it quite a bit. However I used to read a lot of trashy sci-fi novels when I was a kid, so I may have a lower bar for 'okayish' than you do.
I still haven't dropped a single quest in Wildstar.
Including one that I was supposed to do prior to becoming neutral with a faction, and refuse to complete because I don't kill neutral humanoids.
Though it's an MMO, so there are still going to be a fair share of "kill/collect X things for me" quests.
I've been enjoying it so far actually, I don't mind the "kill x, collect y", if I did I wouldn't be playing an MMO, it's just that some MMOs have a nice story for the starter zones and then nothing interesting happens.
Also, that first dungeon was kinda stupid, it spelt what to do at every turn and people kept standing in the red zones or not stunning.
The first dungeon is literally a tutorial on dungeons, yeah. You get the first REAL dungeon at 20.
and yeah, people are retarded
At level 15 you get the first story instance and there's a few more as you level up. Different zones also gave quests that tie into the main story.
There's also story stuff in the end game zones, including quests and a public raid event i think you actually need to do to progress the story?
>it's just that some MMOs have a nice story for the starter zones and then nothing interesting happens
I'd say the middle of the questing experience feels a little less relevant to the endgame. But the overarching goal of figuring out the history/purpose of the planet and the
Eldanis always present. And there's always a story, even if it's just an NPC with a couple side quests.
>that first dungeon was kinda stupid
>it spelt what to do at every turn
Protogames Academy is intended to be a tutorial dungeon.
>and people kept standing in the red zones or not stunning
There's a mini-instance when you leave the starting zone that should show you the basics of your class and interrupts. Though it's optional, and yes, some people are retarded.
I see, maybe I'll do the other starter zone later, what about the proffesion quests? I'm an explorer and so far the missions are they all "go up there and take a look"? It's kinda cool since it's kind of feels like you are exploring and aren't just following the arrow.
Professions and Paths are separate.
Professions are either gathering or crafting, and work like you'd expect in an MMO.
Paths have their own XP bar that is leveled independently of your character's XP. Though there are useful rewards mixed in with the cosmetic stuff you get for leveling your path. You don't have to do everything. But you'll probably come back and do a mission later if you skip it.
I logged on to respond to >>128007163
but I got distracted shuffling more addons in
don't know if I'm even having fun anymore bump
>I stopped having fun when I opened my first lopp box with a free key.
I got some currency with my free key. If they're killing a boss that drops decor I want, then I'll go. Otherwise, I don't give a shit.
I want that house so damn bad
I need it for my
Gear crafting and rune crafting are two elements were the pre-F2P and post-F2P were basically six of one and a half-dozen of the other. Neither seemed particularly well thought out, or well explained.
doesnt seem like it, the game is better now but the biggest problem is a lack of content. i mean, it has a lot of other problems, but if it had something to do people would stick around
Well it's a pretty liberal F2P game, for one you can actually play for free rather than "F2P" being practically a trial mode like SWTOR.
The main problem is that it needs more content.
I'm never getting to lvl 50, because I keep rerolling and wasting time on stupid shit like this for hours on end.
I picked Settler or Scientist every time because I read those are the two paths I won't regret in the end-game, but should I have just gone with Explorer for jumping and climbing things?
If you like jumping and climbing then you should have picked the "I like jumping and climbing" path, yes
Although I've heard that it doesn't always reward climbing everything, but the abilities make it easier
Eh, the Explorer jetpack is nice. Path really, really doesn't matter - The summon is nice to have, the vendbot is nice to have, the titles are nice to have, but in the end you will use it all maybe zero times in endgame content because someone else will have it.
If you're an explorer Warrior has the best mobility skill for getting places you shouldn't since it's the only one with appreciable lift, though engineers can go further. That with explorer does give you two leaps.
I wanna do a Skullcano with you so we can Skullcanopost collaboratively.
>tfw nobody misses my posts
So how are you all doing?
Warrior's Leap is definitely an advantage.
Not only does he quickly move forward, he also leaps upwards a little.
With just that and the mount I managed to get up to the tall spire in Bloodfire Village. Took me over 30 minutes though.
This is more entertaining than questing, but it doesn't reward me with any experience.
Explorer is for people who like to enjoy video games.
how the fuck did they manage to fuck it up? every MMO that went sub to f2p has become really popular, but wildstar is fucking dead. is the game just terrible or what? even the f2p model is fair.
