>What is DUELYST?
DUELYST is a competitive strategy card game focused on tactical combat, squad building, and ranked ladder play.
>Play in Chrome
>Faction overview, guides and general information
Not sure why you quoted my terrible match, but yeah, this is why I hate the emotes.
Half of them can be used to be smug, and the only really friendly one is the crying face, used when you get hurt.
Honestly, I don't mind people saying well played, but most other things just come out smug.
>last thread died at 300 posts
Just let it slip into sweet abyss
mechazor is already good enough to destroy gold, you could probably take it to S thanks to new cards like headhunter.
The reason it wont ever win tourneys is why memedecks dont win tourneys in real cardgames, the sideboard.
>to destroy gold
I'm rolling that shit in diamond and he got me to S rank last season. I blame sw0rd, is such a good fucking minion tbqh.
And why is this dead? We should be shitting nonstop on keeper of balance and the devs, but we can't even do that dammit.
It's a 4/5 for 5 mana that can bring you any minion that you played before back to life. That's aleady fucking good cost for his price since Zenrui is a 4/3 for the same cost, but also he brings back any minion that died in the previous turn. Zen rui is limited to controlling a 2 attack minion, with the keeper you can bring back anything. So if you just shit out stuff like fenrir or chaos elemental for example which happens a fucking lot in this game going second and then use a keeper you get elder tier value. It can even revive a previous keeper of the vale ,so if you throw nothing except fenrirs and keepers you will get endless fenrirs and keepers.
And I thought that it was just a decent card when I saw it because Araki seemed strong as hell.
I feel like there should be a ribbon for getting into S-rank. The number on the top right would be perfect for the # of times you've achieved it.
It's more a elegant solution than hearthstone's cardback, because in hs you just get to legend once and can flaunt that cardback forever. It makes people lazy.
On the other hand seeing a 16x S-rank ribbon would be way more intimidating than a vanilla one.
As long as they don't fuck up and display mine incorrectly. I still have my first season displayed as rank 13 even though I got to 0. Devs said they can't fix it but I wonder if that's just because I didn't make a fuss of it.
I am also interested in this. Just started last week and I already blew 30$ on cards lol.
Never played magic or anything but I instantly fell in love with this game. Give me some tips.
Whats the best/worst "race"?
Vanar aren't the worst. Not anymore.
All factions are fairly playable right now actually. In terms of laddering I've seen the most of Vanar and Vet these past few days but that's probably because they got the biggest changes this patch.
Just open your packs and see what you can build or just look for whose aesthetics you like the most.
In terms of strategies:
Aggro: Songhai, Abyssian, any faction running Mechs
Midrange: Vanar, Vet, Magmar, Lyonar, anyone running golems
Control: Vet, Magmar, Vanar kinda
Combo: Magmar, Songhai, Vanar if you count Jax + Razorback or Spirit + Mech but I wouldn't
Artifacts: Vet, Songhai
How to beat abyssian as vanar?
>abyss puts down 999 weenies
>only aoe clearance is neutral frenzies and mountain aspect
>abyss puts down 999 more weenies and a shadowdancer
I'm seriously convinced that shadowdancer is the best unit in the game, that shit at an opportune time can swing games from 99% lost to 100% won.
As strong as the new TW is and as fun as blast is I wish the Cruel Ultimatum idea the thread proposed ended up happening. I really want a spell card like that.
+3/+3, heal 3 on target, deal 3 on target. Sounds fun.
>+30 Ultimate Agressor
>+25 First win of the day
>+15 2 Wins Reward
>all in one match
>Fenrir is the best unit in the game
>Nerf the AoE that hits it efficiently, and steal the one faction silence that deals with half of it
>You must now invest 3 or more cards or be winning by a landslide to deal with a fucking 3 drop
>Keeper of the Vale :^) it's balanced because it's random just like le ebin hearhstone
Who do I have to kill to get Wizards to hire a competent dev for a Magic online? I'm sick of aggrostone, sack-you-oh, and every other fucking CCG on the planet being combo or aggro central.
Keeper is especially busted with Vanar though, since they have the stickiest minions. Magmar would be in the same boat, but Mag doesn't have Hailstone or Mana Burn 2.0, so they have actual early game weakness.
There's no way to outvalue Vanar, the only viable strategy is weenie rush or face race.
Alright, crafted my 2nd keeper. This is my 3rd game playing him, and he got me Mystics the first 2 times, and Windblade Adept the 3rd time.
I haven't fought a single opponent who got a card lower than 3 mana from him. I'm already ready to quit this game. If I wanted a swingy, sticky, RNG, auto include in every deck, I'd play Hearthstone.
Complain about it on the forums. Devs won't care if we all bitch about it here but if they see everyone complaining about RNG on their forums they'll react.
i just started playing and while looking over the cards songhai seems to remind me the most of mtg. am i wrong? what i would like to ask if there are some decks that are simmilar to controll or if there are combo decks. like twin or storm.
It'd be a much less interesting card. If they're gonna do that I'd prefer it did something different all together.
I'm all for toning the card down but that's pretty boring is all.
Well yeah it's an inherently shit design, you can now choose between making it decent in some decks build around it, or just make it an average valued 5 drop
Or justr emake it entirely because rng a shit
Because devs slayed the game hard m8.
>Vet might as well be a non-faction
>Fagmar auto-loses vs a back-row ranged/blast
>Lyonar can't deal with swarms of anything
>Songay is un-fucking-opposed
>Vanar memecha is the other deck
>And abyss aggro
Probably. The only people I've ever had BM were Lyonars who spammed the laugh emote prior to DB, and any fucking Songhai.
Though I did have one Vetruvian who somehow managed to get an Aymara out on turn 2 or so. Don't remember how that turned out, but I know I ended up getting overwhelmed with my
prototype semi-budget deck, and he started spamming "hello" as soon as it was my turn.
because online tcgs are trying for the casual hearthstone market, compligated shit liek chains/ the stack and the graveyard/exile need not apply.
All hardcore online tcgs like HEX are DED
Remake it so it puts a minion played last turn reappear, only as a shade, so with 1 or so health?
That honestly sounds a bit tacky.
Give it "Whenever one of your minions die, return it to your hand."?
Maybe that, but only one a turn?
I'm sure there's a good way to allow it to serve as a Keeper of the
Veilbut it can't stand as it does now.
I understand not having instants and the like. Magic's online TCGs all feel dreadfully slow because to let those kinds of cards exist they need to be constantly pausing for permission and most people don't want to deal with that bullshit
But seriously graves aren't hard in the least what the fuck
How good is this for a first booster?
I could use some general tips as well.
No, he used some cheap tactic. I think he used an Alcuin and stole my Flash Reincarnate or something.
Also, I think I can remember an Abyssian BMing, or maybe a few. I don't recall ever having a Magmar/Vanar/Vetruvian clearly BM me, though.
>No, he used some cheap tactic. I think he used an Alcuin and stole my Flash Reincarnate or something.
That would involve all 3 mana wells and he wouldn't even have needed to alcuin for it there. You deserve everything that happened if you seriously couldn't control one of the 3 mana wells
Good neutral commons to craft are Primus Fist, Jaxi, Dancing Blades, and Emerald Rejuvinator (a rare, not a common, but still pretty cheap to craft and used in any non-aggro deck)
>7 mana play
>when you have 4 mana
Also Healing Mystic
Also silence dog is pretty good early, repulsor dog also finds some spots in decks
>What cards are considered cancer by the community?
Currently Keeper of the Vale, newest legendary and it's RNG bullshit
Magmar has a bunch of really annoying and strong cards, like Metamorph, Mantakor Warbest, plasma storm although lesser so now that it's been nerfed
Healing Mystic, Saberspine, Ephemeral, and Repulsor are all basics, anon
Metamorph, Makantor, Keeper of the Vale, Jaxi, aggro shitters hate Emerald Rejuv, Lantern Fox, Inner Focus, Juxtapose, Mist Dragon Seal, Songhai in general, Divine Bond, Holy Immo, do people still hate on Elder?
Look, I legitimately don't remember. I'm pretty sure it was before Vale, but I don't think I was using Magmar then, either. I honestly don't know, but I'm certain he used something other than mana to drop it down.
See above, I don't actually remember what happened
Also, I don't really know what to say instead of "cheap tactic", since I know it wasn't using the mana pools, but it was an opening gambit, spell, or something else.
>you couldn't control a mana well
What? How would he get all three on turn 2-3 without my interference?
>le memgar a shit
Flash Reincarnate is one of the more balanced spells Magmar has, and I know I didn't draw Makantor when I fought him, so I don't even know why you'd act like it's fucking terrible
TL;DR I don't exactly remember it, but he was able to get an ayylmara out, and I was forced to attack it because I couldn't roll any dispels. Ended up killing it, healing with an Emerald, but I think the entire thing went to shit after he spawned a bunch of other trash in the background.
To be honest, my memory is too fuzzy of it to trust my recollection. My point is, the entire thing was a shitty blowout where I rolled shit for the first couple of turns, and they had several legends that they were able to pull off really quickly. Followed by "I know I won this and you really didn't stand a chance from the beginning so I'm going to borderline BM you"
This will help though, it's good to have something to start with!
These challenges are really neat, generous with gold as well. Got a nice pack again, I hope the epic is worth any.
Sounds awfully familiar, coming from Hearthstone
>How would he get all three on turn 2-3 without my interference?
Two creatures turn 1. Either two 1-drops, a 2-drop and a 1-drop, or an Orb Weaver. Take 2 orbs, move another body close enough to another orb to put an Alcuin on it.
It'd be easier without the Alcuin honestly. Then you just need one creature for the 6 mana.
Alcuin or not he was going to have a turn 2 Aymara.
It's simply unreasonable the amount of provokes you need positioned in just the right place to dodge both MDS and juxtapose.
I have 4000 spirit sonce i disenchanted my vet cards (i can still make them back of course).
Which deck is better for competitive play between Vetruvian, Magmar and Abyssian?
If the answer is vetruvian, which cards should i craft? I disenchanted everything changed by the patch, so i dusted my 2 third wishes and my 3 star's fury and guardians, should i make them all back?
Not this meme again. These threads started with this meme before they all hopped on the Vet hate bandwagon and now it's just going to happen all over again.
Vet is fine.
I see more Vanar than Songhai, thankfully.
Though tournament results don't necessarily translate into ladder.
So are you going to prove that those losses made them a weak faction in comparison to other factions?
>Has no proof or arguments
>VET WEAK meme
Ok anon, it's fine.
But you didnt post any proof or arguments? You only stated that vet was nerfed, you didn't state that all of their main contenders except songhai were also nerfed or that third wish has a new role or cosmic flesh was buffed.
So if your argument is that vet can no longer play a yolo burst deck and sack the hell out of people then your right, however they gained new tools which make them a better control deck and possibly a better deck overall.
And you have a pretty shit match vs songhai to start with.
Cosmic flesh is still crap.
2. Worse than shit
Sooooooo~ Opinion=Disregarded redditor!
petition to add a "kys you faggot" emote specifically for use against BMers
>be vet who couldnt make it past gold
>lose your meme combo
>cant come to terms
>Get btfo by the best player on DYG( Protip, that's me)
>LE SATIRE XDDDD I BETTER SAY HE'S BEING DUMB INSTEAD OF BTFO ME CONSTANTLY!
1. IT'S Nerffie-Domo for you
2. Kiddo, you don't get to speak to your betters, got it? (Protip: That's me)
TL:DR U all mad nerffie-domo stylin' all over you anime-hating /v/edditors
can you come up with a name so I can filter you
Of course it's the goldie avatarfag perpetuating memes.
They didn't "lose" third wish. They lost it as a massive burst finisher. They gained it as an absolutely insane board control buff.
Keeper of the Vale is always going to be bullshit in mid-late decks like Vet's
Cosmic Flesh isn't hot garbage anymore in a format where aggro is abundant.
With Plasma Storm and Tempest rarer and rarer they can now field Sand Howler very well. On top of the new Cosmic Flesh and TW there's very few things Songhai can do to fuck with it. Songhai being the faction that's set to dominate right now. Really the only things that can fuck with a buffed Sand Howler right now are Chromatic Cold and Sun Bloom. And Lyonar are rare as fuck these days.
Even nerfed Portal Guardian still works fine. Lyonar rare so Sun bloom is rare. Plasma Storms less common. Phoenix isn't enough to knock it out. New TW makes it easy as fuck to re-activate in the event of a chromatic cold.
S-rank every month with Vet. TW was hardly nerfed and more important than just the direct changes Vet received, you need to examine the game environment. Cards that heavily challenged Vet board presence are now rare sights.
Their only real weakness right now is that they're not stronger than Vanar and Songhai. If that's what it takes for a faction to be shit to you then please just keep hopping from one FotM to the next in gold rank.
I know this is bait but we're dead anyways.
Yeah, summon 5 "of Mechaz0r" and on the fifth you get a prompt to summon him anywhere. You don't need 5 different pieces, you could summon him with 3 Swords and two Wings or just 5 Helms. The minion type doesn't matter
To actually answer the question:
8/8 ranged frenzy airdrop untargettable by spells creature token.
Can only be build from progress % once per game so if they put out 10 mechs they'll still only have 1 mechaz0r. There are other ways to get more but from progress that's the only one they get.
Beware of Vanar mechaz0r decks running Spirit of the Wind.
Crossbones, dealing 8 damage, playing provokes on top of it and racing the mech player, dispelling it so it's just an 8/8 beater (either with creature dispels or with chromatic cold or sun bloom)
Just started playing, and everyone's running Abyss in Bronze it seems. What am I supposed to do against them? They keep destroying all my heavy hitters with the card that turns any of my minions into a wraithling, or teleporting them away into their wraitling swarm to power up that one minion with deathwatch.
I'm running Songhai, by the way.
Lower your curve so that you can play more dudes and aren't as vulnerable to a single removal spell. And try to kill all their dudes when they don't have any deathwatch on the board, maybe play ghost lightning if it's a big issue.
> im not that anon
> No problem, double tempest, oops, wth why is that wolf still there with 3/3.
> Damn, now I only have 1 Tempest left, I summon Alcuin, Double Tempest, BEGONE BS.
> I end my turn.
> Opponent: summon another Fenrir.
> I concede.
>be lyonar vs cucktruvian
>have to deal with all his bullshit unavoidable saberspine+third wish
>double time maelstrom
>nigger still thinks he's allowed to spam the laughing emote after struggling so hard
>can't draw any any of 2 matyrdoms left in my deck
seriously why was Vet buffed
if you're in the thread, know that you're actually awful
