Wait a minute, if Tidus was the physical manifestation of a misremembered person from the past made by the fayth...
Where the fuck did Jecht come from?
Is he ALSO a misremembered person from the past created by the fayth?
What was the original Jecht like, then?
Shit Damn Piss Gene, I fucking did it. Holy Crap. Only 65s and that sexy bitch RNG being on my side after the 10th s/l.

FFIX being ported
FF7 being remade
this is the year of final fantasy
II isn't as bad as it looks. Well, okay, it is pretty bad at first, but if you bear with it it starts to ease up.
At least it's not an absolute bore like III and stuff actually happens.
What do you guys think? Spring release? Get those early sales and early GOTY nominations? Summer release for when people are out of school? Or the ol' Christmas holiday release?
Strat was to have Red XIII alternate between Attacking Greg and Magic Breakdown with an Armor Breakdown at the beginning to get things going. Vivi was to use Ruinga as a charger for the eventual magic boosted waterja. Tidus was there for the initial boost of damage to get to 50% asap and reta attacking greg, Lunatic High used asap. Lenna was to use Shellga immedietly and curaga mostly every turn unless Exdeath missed or used doom, she would then use the candle sb when shit was going down. Greg was Tauntulate until morphing time. Used Sentinal RW and used at 90% and 40%, Shellga reapplied during a (hopeful) break from healing around 45%-50%, if Dispell or Counter-Dispell was used it was an s/l.
RNG blessed me with lots of initial misses, lots of attacks to greg, and a couple of doom uses (twice on Lenna). Vivi's Magic boost ended and had a Lunatic High near 15% but decided to go for broke and instead continued waterjas and used attack on greg. As you can see, just barely made it, any AOE Magic and it would have been over.
Yuna sure is a fine piece of booty.
If you really wanted to remove them you'd impregnate as many as possible. That way there'd be far less purebloods in the next generation. Do your part, impregnate an Al Bhed today.
Played through and loved IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, and X-2
Should I play XIII or is it shit?
Have you guys read up on this Yunalesca fight? Rev up those SLs
>sap causes her to spam holy on you
>no sap means you die to her instant ko skill
Why was this nigga so balls hard compared to everything else?
Did you beat the four Guardians? Either way, the Crystal Tower to World of Darkness endgame run was always meant to be balls hard and basically force you to either git gud or do the Ninja/Ninja/Sage/Sage strat.
ded general, ded franchise, and happy ded year
There used to be an anon here who spammed Celes and kept talking about how great she was and how she was his pure waifu
Then someone on reddit spent a ton of cash on getting her weapon fully maxed and ranked out and solo'd her event with her, something the Celesfag couldn't (and even refused because he clearly didn't love her enough) to do.
That's a hell of a stretch.
In my experience II and XII aren't worth playing unless you really want yo see what they're about, and you're most likely to give up halfway through anyway.
I noticed something in RK:
Concentration and Mana Spring have a I and II version, as does stuff like Gore Stained Blade, implying that there are two versions to obtain.
Setzer's All In and Rikku's Machina Meddler don't have a I next to them. Does this mean a version II (guaranteed restore) does not exist for those abilities?
Is Rikku useable in the game or should I just bench her after I get her record materia?
>Go on /v/ yesterday, 9 final fantasy threads
>Go on /v/ today, 6 final fantasy threads
>Go to to /ffg/, still slow
>Bioshock general is still a thing
I just don't get it
She is strictly worse than Faris. The fact that she can't use Breakdowns is a huge minus for a support character. The dancer AOE debuff abilities are solid for multi-target boss fights, but Faris is better at that also. She's stuck being a dedicated fluffer until Machinist skills get released, which won't be for a few months.
>Just beat Lady Yunalesca after about 2 hours of failing, then grinding, then finally beating her
I used fucking 6 mega pheonixes. That was fucking 6 mega death's she cast on me. Also, the worst part of Final Fantasy X is that I cannot skip cutscenes ever. That 2 minute cutscene before the boss? I watched it like 5 times. Fuck.
Wanna know how much grinding I did?
I started with 2 Mega Potions.
When I started Yunalesca I had 67.
At least the mobs before her drop decent things. Got a whole bunch of Level 4 Locks too.
Too bad Auron is such a shitty party member once Tidus levels up. My Tidus is a fucking beast.
In hindsight, I probably should have just used two phoenix downs instead of one megaphoenix, since it killed Yuna.
Also, why the fuck does Yuna make a better Blackmage than LuLu? Used Black Magic spheres to give Yuna the rank 3 base element attacks, Ultima, and Bio. Best decision ever.
So far my only complaint with black magic in X is that LuLu's Overdrive is fucking shit, I can't move my right stick any farther than 3 hits and even then the hits are like a 1/5th weaker than a normal equivalent spell.
I want to lose my virginity to Tifa. I think she'd be nice and accepting, perfect for my first time. I just know she'd let me cum inside her to commemorate the occasion, too.
Anyone else feel the same way?
I just started playing FFX for the first time and I was wondering if there was multi-hit abilities other than Lulu's overdrive? Like can my auto attacks have a chance to proc multiple hits or is everything hard hitting and overkills are the thing to go for?
So what are you guys gonna use your stones on? Personally I'm thinking of using it on Squall and his red sword since it's the only SSB I have at the moment.
Dumping everything into Rinoa's Cardinal. I tend to run mage parties, she's the only level 80 mage for now, it's my only 6* mage weapon and it's one of only 3 BM unique SB weapons I own. Her second SB weapon being another one. I don't know why, but whenever I'm pulling for something on a banner she's on I get her stuff.
Also, when I was running all four MC2 characters throu dungeons to get their new RM Rinoa's Witch of Succession dropped in the first dungeon, the others dropped much later.
I occasionally still use Angel Wing Quake for the guaranteed Slow, but more and more bosses are immune to it theses days. And against single target bosses it definitely does more damage. No idea how it compares to other SSBs, it's my only one.
I could do my pull on the Beginner's Banner and then get her first SB weapon, that would be a messed up time line.
But I'm not going to because there are only two BMs who can used thrown weapons and I already have two.
FFVIII was my first FF game, so I never hated it or her unlike most people her it seems. But she has been in my party non stop ever since I pulled her second SB, which was pretty good. And now I might start to.
Don't hate her, anon. She's clearly chosen you to be her Knight. Now give her a kiss~
finally a good v relic. I dropped around 80 mythrils on this one. got that ninja armor thing before this.
8 was my first FF too, doesn't mean I ignore how frustrating Rinoa is.
Run while you still can bro
At what point does level start to matter in Tactics? I've suddenly realized my generics are 10 levels lower than the story enemies. Does it never as long as their abilities/equips keep up?
There's nothing wrong with Ultros. There's everything wrong with that roleplaying Ultrosfaggot who doesn't know when to stop and instead prefers to run his already shitty jokes to the ground.
>some guy who puts videos of him mastering the Misfortune / Ultimate fights on YouTube
>he has god-tier hones and SBs anyway
Yes, I'm sure everyone who's pulled that relic spent tons of money on it. You're never going to have exactly the same relics as someone else you retard, but any f2p player who's played for a while ought to have at least a few good relics. I'm sorry you're a shitter who can't come up with a strategy based on the things you have available yourself.
It is quite possible to have stocked up mythril for a while and not get anything that works for the battle.
Arguably the go-to strategy (and one that should be default for anyone who doesn't have the best of SBs) though is just running a full party of mages. I'm just saying it's kind of deceiving that someone says "fully F2P :D" and then proceeds to use a strategy that is pretty much meant to be used by people who were lucky enough to draw, say, a group heal.
>DeNA eventually runs out of FF content
>goes for that next
Sakaguchi would be proud.
I played paladin for a bit, got bored and quit. I'm thinking of playing a DPS now and see if I can get further. Will Bard be disappointing? I don't mind being a utility, but just wondering if the damage will be underwhelming.
In that sense, but I imagine people who click on it are expecting something that people with "not-the-best" equips can all make use of.
Which says something about the faggot who makes the video, I guess, in that he's hungry for clicks. But that's not my problem.
Dark Knight is probably one of the better initial DPS classes off the top of my head, then there's Samurai which you can unlock by beating Odin required by the game's progression.
Bard has really good buff utility though if you're looking to team up with a few /ffg/ people.
Paladin is the most boring job in the game. It gets slightly less boring after 50 but it fits the hole of braindead easy tank. If you want a more fun tank try Warrior or Dark Knight. Warrior is the favorite for a lot of people because of it's high damage potential as well.
For DPS if you want to pull off high numbers, Black Mage is good I think when you're pulling off Fire 4's. Bard is alright but just remember you lose some DPS because of your support skills.
this guy must have terrible luck or I have amazing luck.
For the past 3 events, I received multiple 5 star unique record for each event. Hell, I think Santa gave me luck for those 2 months. I gotten both Cecil and clouds SSB, Lulu's hairpin, Fenis' bow and a second Runeblade for Ashe. I've only spent 10 dollars my whole time playing this game and I payed back when first started for more equipment space. I didn't pay anything after that.
I'm just sad that i wasted my beginner's event on Cyan. I knew I should have went for my second choice, Rinoa...
well you're half right on correcting me, this game is terrible with that world timer pushing you and restraining exploration. Currently trying to find a way to allow myself to stop and start the clock
I is broke rite now,din get nuffin for the holidays, can't afford a gamepad yet mane
>this game is terrible with that world timer pushing you and restraining exploration
The timer is a complete non-issue. By day 5 I had completed all the main quests and had less than ten sidequests and a handful of canvas of prayers requests left to do and I'd also killed about half of all the Last Ones in the game. Just fight whatever enemies you come across and you have more than enough Chronostasis to do whatever you want.
I can see 2 possible ways they can do this and both are not pretty.
First episode nearing the end
>have near perfect stats
>have best possible equipment
>have all skills, materia, summons
>killed all the optional bosses they included
>First episode ends
1)Second game starts
>everyone is back to level 1
>all your materia, summons and skills are gone and have to relearn them
>shitty starting equipment
2)Second game starts
>every equipment, materia and summons are still intact
>every enemy/boss is 1hit kills due to being already level 99
>rest of the game is boring because of this.
Anyone familiar with Type-0? What shoukd I be spending my time on between missions? I've mostly been talking to people but I'm starting to realize the 2 lines of text and high potion aren't worth it and maybe I should be going out into the field for tasks instead even though it seems to use 6+ hours?
Also I just unlocked elite trials that say they are level 35 or so and my team is around 15-17 and I have a few tasks to do these. Are they too hard right now?
Do quests. Going out to the fields can be good as well. If you can do the elite trials, go for it. Type-0's combat system means if you know what you're doing you can take down enemies much stronger than you.
Also, don't sweat too much about using your time poorly. There's a ton of NG+ stuff that the game expects you to do.
She's a treasure hunter. Sassy and pretty lewd. There's a cutscene in X where she strips out of a wetsuit and the camera is like right on her ass. It's pretty great. But she's only 15, so hands off!
In X-2 her outfit gets a lot lewder and she's responsible for most of the game's sex appeal, pic related. Overall a pretty good character, though her main job is looking sexy.
Name a shittier dungeon. Protip: you can't.
What a strange request anon.
Damn SJWs ruining shit even in the future.
Class zero in AA2
Can anyone approximate
which of the characters are virgins and how slutty they all are?
If I throw a couple of mithril into the mix I can probably hone this bad boy to 3 is it worth it?
>four Type-0 characters
>five FF4 reps
>five FF4 reps and not even a Rosa
>After Years bullshit
>five FF7 reps
>Cloud With Black Hair / Crisis Core bullshit
>Dirge of Cerberus bullshit
>Blonde Squall but this one I can deal with
>fucking SIX FFX characters
>Dresssphere bullshit instead of having an additional honest to god thief in the game
>Ashe and Fran who I don't mind as characters but are really friggin pointless to add to Dissidia, maybe Fran if you framed her as a fulltime archer
>Serah and Emo Kid bullshit instead of actual XIII characters
>the two brats from World Of
And the stage choices are shit too.
Snow and Fang. Game doesn't have enough bareknuckle fighters or dragoons. On top of that, both can potentially be Chaos reps, with Fang being Ragnarok and Snow being a major LR boss.
I just want to see this pimp ass dude as a summon in Dissidia.
Nah, it'll just be recurring summons since they now have to model them and make them work instead of just adding a png to the game file.
We've seen Ifrit, Shiva, Leviathan, Ramuh and Odin. I'd expect Bahamut, Titan, and maybe Carbuncle and Alexander and that's it.
>tfw want to beat ultimate Exdeath
>have no wall
>have no hastega
>have no attack or magic increase
>have poor realm synergy
Is it possible to beat the guy with the advance + retaliate tactic without using wall? Full break, magic breakdown, shellga, and perhaps some physical mitigation, would it be enough to survive the first phase and then just pray on being lucky enough that he only casts single target spells during the second phase?
You're never going to hit 2x9999 on anyhting relevant. That's not to say it isn't good, but on the occasions that it does break damage cap, it won't be hitting anywhere near that hard.
A work in progress, mostly to add some DQ characters and those I feel would add interesting movesets:
>"Woah, those are some cool gizmos!" -Zidane to Edgar.
>"You'll get nowhere if you just dabble." -Shantotto to Red Mage.
>"Do you feel someone staring?" -Tifa to Jessica
>"You've lost your way in pursuit of strength." -Golbez to Terry.
>"There is room for only one lord!" -Zoma to Chaos.
>"If you have the power to protect others, shouldn't you use it?" -Ashley to Terra.
Not the guy, but here you go.
Do not underestimate the importance of physical mitigation. One unmitigated Vacuum Wave can easily instagib your casters. That being said, I don't have a wall relic, but protectga/shellga/SG RW was enough to survive and get Mastery. If you have R2 Carbuncle, use it. If not, Reflect + Magic Lure. Blitz him down with whatever your biggest damage sources are, whether it be Retaliate or whatever, and push him into Phase 2 as quickly as possible. Have your Reflect/Carbuncle up, and pray to RNGesus that he mostly just casts single target nukes and kills himself. If you feel like gambling, stop using Magic Breakdown and put a Faith on Exdeath to make him kill himself that much harder.
The second half of the fight will either be a cakewalk or impossible depending on RNG.
Welp, guess I'm making one just for kicks.
You know a playable chocobo would be the shit don't deny it.
So I got the FFX/X-2 remastered edition for Vita this Christmas. Haven't even gotten to X-2 (not looking forward to it) but holy shit I forgot what a clusterfuck the Sphere Grid system is in X. It's great, in theory, but without levels it's almost impossible to tell if you're leveling up characters evenly. Which is terrible if you have OCD and want everyone leveled up perfectly.
I missed Rikku like all fuck, though. No regrets.
Objective list of characters that need to be in the game, but will never ever make it in.
Just started playing the ios game (cant remember the name but its the one with the archives and you hop in for the stories). Any way to get Vivi, Auron and maybe Zidane right off the bat?
Nope. If they aren't currently in events (Auron is, though, he's in the 6th classic dungeon of the Rikku event), they're either in a Bonus Quest for a dungeon down the line or just plain not available.
Vivi is, I think, a first-time reward for Evil Forest (IX) in the 4th (?) set of dungeons, and the first few sets were glacial and pretty fucking long so that might take a while. Zidane just isn't available right now.
This is the one true Dissidia roster.
He's good in the sense that he can use any equipment and ability. His stats are atrocious but he is the only character that can fill literally any role, where you might need some obscure ability combination.
Not sure what you mean about the crystals though, they just automatically give you a permanent stamina increase when you get 5.
Tyro's stats are perfectly mediocre, there's nothing other characters can't do better. But he can use every piece of equipment and every skill in the game, so he has his uses if you want to use some combination of skills no other character can use.
Right now you can still use your stamina on the holiday festival, it's very easy and gives good XP and money. Once that is over, do the event of the week as far as you can then do the story dungeons, dailies on Sundays for the XP and otherwise when you need specific orbs. Don't waste Mythril on stamina refreshes, it's rarely worth it and certainly not while your stamina pool is still that small.
I meant it as in a "oh Magic characters definetly need them more" or somesuch. There's just so much content, this'll keep me entertained for a while. Got any tips, something to aim for (like saving up premium coin for specific things, instead of spending it on a whim)?
The "main character's" main niche is being able to equip anything, so the Keeper can fit in any role. Stats are sub-par, though- without the special banner unique tomes, most game characters are always going to be stronger.
While you're early in the story missions, you can get stamina shards easily - every 5 you collect refills your stamina and adds 1 to the max. So you want to time it if you can so you'll be around empty by the time you finish a dungeon with a stamina shard reward that will bring you to 5 shards - you can always see how much stamina a dungeon will cost, so you can do some event dungeons or something to bring your total down.
You've got some time still, so even if your team is low level now, you should probably be able to get the characters in the Final Fantasy V event. The classic dungeons are always geared more towards newer players - the highest difficulty is like 35, and the rewards are characters to build your roster. I'd say that you should try to grab them all, but balance that with boosting your stamina cap this early on.
As a note: synergy bonuses are when you take a character into a game realm they're from, and/or use equipment from a game realm. The characters get an effective +10 level boost (so even a base level 1 will be 11 in their realm), and the equipment becomes turbo-charged (variable depending on their item level).
Mythril should be spent on relic pulls and nothing else. Not stamina refreshes, not in dungeon heals and at least in the beginning not inventory expansions either. Saving 50 for the beginners banner might be a good idea, you'll get a guaranteed 5* item out of that one. After that save up to 50 then check http://ffrk.kongbakpao.com/events/ to see which items are up now and in the near future. Pull on the ones you like most. In the beginning you'll struggle just to get one 5* weapon for every character so you'll pull pretty regularly, once you have a solid collection you can start saving for longer periods.
>FFXII vanilla, several years ago
>active, default battle speed
>have no idea what I'm doing
>builds out of the ass
>lol what's quickening
>somehow get to that desert temple, whatever its name is, and beat the boss
>save, stop playing for reasons
>FFXII vanilla again, now
>wait, max battle speed
>actually have some idea of what I'm supposed to be doing
>get a quickening for every character
>took me 2 more hours to get to the temple
>suck ass at the boss
>limit break double inferno the shit out of it, probably wouldn't handle it otherwise
How the FUCK do I manage to suck more now. I just don't understand. At all.
1 & 2: GBA or PSP
3: DS or NES
4: GBA (EU -fixes an ATB bug present in the NA version) or PSP
6: GBA or SNES (there's a patch for the GBA on emulation that gives it the SNES music)
7: PS1 or PS4 (PS4 is a port of the PC with optional built-in cheats and boosters- like game speed-up)
10 & 10-2: PS3, PS4
13, 13-2, LR: PS3, PC
I actually had a more detailed post but lost it so I typed up fast, I meant to say that the PS1 FF1 is the last remake with spell charges, but the GBA/PSP has bonus dungeons/enemies/items.
I like them both
Why does Sleep even exist in FFRK? I just did the ++ battle of the Lenna event, intended to cheese it with Sleep and an all mages team. Had one character dedicated to casting Sleep then Berserk. He died before Sleep hit even once. So I missed Mastery. Split Berserk and Sleep to different characters. Berserk hit, Sleep did not, for another entire battle. Is the official probability known? 5%? 10%?
Seriously 30%? The chance of that missing 17 times in a row is 0.2%. I'm now S/Ling my way through the +++ battle, 8 misses so far, so that brings the total chance to 0.02%. I'm beginning to doubt the 30% here.
I remain convinced that there is some stat check that goes into whether or not statuses stick. They seem to stick much easier on trash mobs, but take forever to stick on high-level bosses. It took me about 20 tries to get sleep to stick even once in that damn fight, so be prepared for a lot of S/L. You only get about two tries before she barrier changes.
Very. For the love of god put her to sleep with someone with high mind and non-elemental/fire spell her away.
If you dont have enough fire spells, wake her up and let her change to the next weakness. If i could change anything, id drop non-elemental for the next weakness.
Okay versality on skills. Thief and machinist in the coming months are god, bard and dancer are situational, and I think she only goes up to 3, which only semi-decent ones are (the greater ones are obviously higher ranks). No combat or support, but at least she has Celerity.
Are you retarded? They're both two completey different characters that fufill two completely different roles. If you just started then it's likely you'll need both as your black mage and white mage respectively.
This guy looks like trouble
Thank god it's over.
Also why is the quality of those emulator screenshots so bad if I use the built-in hotkey? Well, at least it saves me the time of cropping everything.
Magic king? I don't think so, the only magic related stuff I've done were the missions with the seals and guardians. But I've pretty much taken on every quest so far (80/300 done), gonna keep it up until I'm forced to continue with the story to unlock further content. I'm hilariously overleveled when it comes to that.
Y'da is a simple monk girl who doesn't quite get a lot of things a first but is kind hearted. She works mainly with Papalymo and are essentially a boke/tsukkomi pairing.
Lilisette is a mixed Hume/Elvaan Dancer that is a time traveler. She's a very playfully braggadocious girl that is trying to make right of events that happened to her parents.
Sounds fun, looking forward to that.
I've been also collecting every qtie so far.
Not him, but he means Yda and the other girl are like the straight man and funny man, like Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker in Rush Hour.
I think, it's been years since I saw those movies.
Man i'd love to 1v1 someone in the FFT psx online mod
Finally unlocked the best katana in the game.
Mainly cause she thinks Cait Sith is related to the problems because any time there's a big event she sees in the past, Cait Sith is there.
the big problem being is that there is more than one Cait Sith
FFXI Cait Siths were a mistake.
can you guys stop using stupid words to refer to humans? fucking racefags
But I had absolutely no idea what I was doing back then. No experience or "skill" whatsoever.
Maybe I just suck at making builds so hard that they end up being worse than some half-assed shit based on starting roles.
I thought furfags like their shit to be covered in fur, not skin.
>that fucking 45 minute long Sin fight on the air ship
Holy fuck that was so good. I'm almost done with X, hopefully done by tomorrow so I can start X-2.
>Made Yuna a staff that has spells cost 1, 10% more magic
>Double cast Ultima
My fucking dick hurts this should be illegal.
Yeah, but does she have a name?
I still wonder why they changed her to that thing
I want this statue.
Tactics Advance and TA2 were made without Matsuno's input. It seems like they kinda lightened or just left out some of the more darker aspects of Ivalice's gods and demons when he was gone.
At least the handheld Tactics games gave the lamias a proper looking tail
Would love a Ivalice game with the character design of the TA series that would allow you to choose your race and have equipable gear that shows on the character like the MMOs or the FFCC series
I simply love how different all the classes/jobs look, especially considering how many there are. That's one of the reasons why I dislike using any of the story characters since their appearance never changes.
Is it worth picking up the FF12(am a shit with greek numbers) if I've never played them before? I've pretty much only played Crisis Core and PSP Dissidia before, will I like FF12? I've also played the NES FF1.
My Ideal Final Fantasy game.
Sprite based graphics.
Turn based combat.
Random encounters, but have usable items, spells, or job abilities to halt them temporarily.
Full party (five members) creation at the start of game.
Have multiple different races to choose from aside from Humes, Moogles are a must.
Have a full selection of jobs taken from across the franchise. With a 5 member party and a conservative list of jobs; Assassin, Astrologer, Bard, Beastmaster, Berserker, Black Mage, Blue Mage, Chemist, Dancer, Dark Knight, Dragoon, Gambler, Geomancer, Gladiator, Gunner, Holy Knight, Knight, Machinist, Mime, Monk, Mystic Knight, Ninja, Necromancer, Onion Knight, Oracle, Ranger, Red Mage, Rune Knight, Sage, Samurai, Sky Pirate, Soldier, Summoner, Thief, Time Mage, Warrior, White Mage. 37x5=185 possible party combinations.
Row toggling for each party slot.
Equipment that has a secondary use from the use item menu.
Multiple equipment slots; Right hand, left hand, head, body, arms, legs, accessory 1, accessory 2.
Big world to explore, it can be broken down into areas that can only be accessible with certain vehicles later (or underground areas, sky island areas, or parallel worlds.)
Also vehicles to add in and allow further exploration. Chocobo, Ship, and Airship are musts.
Big epic overarching quest (classic save the crystals, the 4 classic elemental ones with maybe light and dark mixed in.) with few side missions (optional ones can be unlocked with new game+), but allow for some sequence breaking.
Also New Game+.
>Mr. "Bitch I'm Motherfucking" Sabin
>Steiner carrying Vivi as one character
>an honest to god necromancer in place of the whiny halfbreed momma's boy
>Ashley "Bad Motherfucker" Riot
we have a winner
Maybe you should try 7 first instead since you're already acquainted with the setting.
12 was my first FF and I only played the rest afterwards but looking back it's not a very good starting point, as much as I like it.
Remember if Gems don't help Kupo there's always doing a crazy nip ritual.
Or just more Gems will do.
Seeing that candle reminded me of that one gook who set his own apartment on fire while doing a livestream. In the end he had to evacuate while the expanding fire took the life of an old sleeping lady.
73rd eternal reminder that Terra is best girl
Don't start with ff12. I literally just beat it the first time on emulator a while ago.
The story and character development is very weak imo. The combat system is very different from previous installments. I enjoyed the combat system cause it was new and different, honestly the only thing that kept me going through the game.
Final Fantasy to me is, story telling, combat system, characters, and the world they're in. My first was 8 and that was how i saw final fantasy games.
You should start with 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10. Pick whichever looks interesting and run with it. 12 is just too wide and hollow. 13 is linear and plays like auto pilot.
Your hatred for a game really shows for the game. I said start with 6, 7, 8, 9, OR 10. He should choose any or none. That's fine if you hate the game that much, shouldn't stop someone from trying a game out. Hell even if he chose 12 to start as the first FF game, i can't stop him.
anyways, not gonna partake in this any more.
Fuck images. First off, basing these off what they can offer gameplay over anything else.
>more dragoons. Kain sets the trope, Freya could be a heavier, more magic-oriented one, and Fang could be a hybrid berserker with the added quirk of the Ragnarok EX form
>Tifa and Prishe both seem like more offensive characters, so adding in a defensive monk like Snow would be neat. That, and the game needs a grappler, so Sabin
>instead of having just another mage that spews the three main elements like Seymour, go with >>127227585's idea and make Yunalesca a legit necromancer character. Dots, Doom, anti-healing effects, could be cool
>blue mages need more love. Bartz is more of a mimic, and Gil is more the swordsman. Quistis would offer the most that isn't already covered by Gil's repertoire, but I guess any dedicated blue mage would do the trick. Except Kimahri, fuck Kimahri.
>more support role characters. This is a team game now, why not have more characters to do with supporting the team? Balance it out with kinda limited offensive options, like having a archer/green mage hybrid. Fran?
>a machinist would be cool. Could be Barret with his new school AC transforming gun arm, could be Edgar with the chainsaw and hockey mask, could be Doctor Cid rocking that big cannon with shield drones and Venat buffs.
Freya's main trait is that she feels real inadequate about everything. Someone like that isn't fit for Dissida where the majority of characters have grand, bombastic personalities.
My problem with the Final Fantasy VII Saga is that the game/movies are so based on fanservice and of what's cool at that very moment that the tonal change between the games is enormous.
Compare Advent Children to the original game. The movie came out when the emo trend as at its peak, and it was dark and edgy like coetaneous animes such as Death Note. It wasn't even subtle, all the characters were dressing in black for some reason.
30% has been verified by data mining the game. I am inclined to believe that something fucks up the game and it bugs out.
Or a stat check, as the other anon mentioned, but I think we would have seen proof of that by now.
It's proc chance is independent of MND - that affects duration only.
A support without at least 4* is trash. It's hard for me to say that because it's qtp2t Rikku...
Top tier waifu.
Don't start with XII. That game's more demanding than other titles. Start with VII since you've already played Crisis Core.
>he doesn't play the games his sister buys him
Steal Power and Steal Armor are just as good as the comparable breakdowns, plus they boost her attack or defense at the same time. With Realm Synergy and a decent weapon, you should be able to combo Steal Power and Dismissal into her hitting 9999 damage even on high level bosses (I did it with Locke in the last FFVI event). But other than an extra damage dealer on FFX stages, she's not that useful. Bard and Dancer buffs/debuffs aren't really worth using, and she can't even use the bard's fake shellga because it's 4-star.
But she has FFX synergy. Using every character in their home stages has been one of the keys to beating all the event bonus battles so far, for me at least.
I don't understand the people who want to make one party of static characters and use them everywhere in RK, since the game actively punishes you for doing that.
Character synergy isn't even that noticeable. Weapon availability takes much preference over character synergy, because what really matters is gear synergy.
Rikku can use what, fists and throwns? Faris can probably use any physical weapon you have with FFX synergy, so she's automatically better than Rikku.
>He hasn't played the game.
Bartz and Galuf wanted to fuck her even when they thought she was a man.
I still wonder who else they'll add from different realms
FFI: So barren... well, for the trend of "big bads", they could still go Garland/Chaos. Not sure if any NPCs are big enough to flesh out. Lukahn? Matoya? Sarah? Dr. Unne? ...Bikke?
FFII: Obviously Guy will eventually be in, Scott's the only 4th slot left, and Emperor Mateus would keep up the trend of villains. Beyond that - Hilda? Paul? ...Borghen?
FFIII: Desch shows that guest characters are in the running, so Sara, Cid, Aria, Alus, Unei and Doga are all possibilities. For antagonists, there's Xande. Not sure about the Cloud of Darkness...
FFIV: Without even touching the After Years, we've still got at least Cid, Yang, and Adult Rydia from the main cast. Not sure who to take from the antagonists; Zemus might have a shot, though. Baigan sort of kind of not really joined once, Dr. Lugae'd be a comedy option... actually, it'd be kind of fun to me if they had the Archfiends so you could run a team with them and Golbez. Just not sure how they'd translate.
FFV: Since we've got the whole cast + Gilgamesh and Exdeath, I guess there's the other Warriors of Dawn. Maybe Enuo? Kind of complete, aren't we?
FFVI: Just Gau, Gogo and Umaro left of the playable crew. None of the temporary characters are in, but that'd be Leo, Banon, Biggs, Wedge, and Ghost. Gestahl? Siegfried?
FFVII: They're pretty complete now; I guess maybe the rest of the Turks?
FFVIII: Fujin and Raijin? The rest of Laguna's crew, maybe? Ultimecia?
FFIX: Lani? The rest of Tantalus? ...Fratley?
FFX: Seymour. Maybe some of the NPC Summoners/Guardians?
FFXI: I'll have to defer to others, but I would venture Shantotto and Prishe at minimum.
FFXII: Larsa, Vossler, Reddas, Vayne, Gabranth... Reks? Ba'Gamnan? Al-Cid?
FFXIII: Snow's team? Cid? Galenth?
FFXIV: More Scions? The Leaders (Merylwyb, Kan-E-Senna, Raubahn)? Imperial Legion antagonists (Gaius, Nero, etc.)? ...Godbert?
Gau is a story unlock still a great post though.
Shantotto, Prishe and Iroha for sure.
>30% has been verified by data mining the game.
Right after I sent that I managed to get put her to Sleep. Needed to S/L once more because I messed up, got a reasonable one out of three success rate after that. Might really just have been RNG fucking with me with a 1 in 10000 chance run.
Matador for FF3
Rufus for FF7
Paine for FFX
By the Japanese order, he's like 20+ events away
For I, I'd love to see them add Bikke & Matoya. Realistically I could see them add Garland & Princess Sarah. One could also see them add the four fiends.
For II, Guy's a shoe-in I agree. Scott would be great. Just reverse some stats from his brother Gordan and there we go. I also agree with Borghen
If they were to add villans from III, Xande would be guaranteed. I'd allso like to see Goldar, Gutsco, & Hein
Yes please for After Years. Calica & Brinna for example could be reverse Palom & Porom.
I'm throwing in my hat for Legend of the Crystals Representation. I want Prettz, Linaly, Rouge, & Valkus party members.
Agreed on VI
Bring in the Before Crisis Turks. All of them. Then the VII bias would be more apparent.
Oh and add Genesis
Pretty much agreed on VIII, though I could see them adding that one Moomba
Tantalus would be a must with Cid as well
Paine, Lenne, Shuyin, & the Leblanc crew for X
Shantotto's already a lock later this month in Japan but XI's would have definitely the main heroines of the Expansions: Lion, Prishe, Aphmau, Lilisette, Arciela, & Iroha. Very likely Lion's main compatriots Zeid & Aldo would make it in as well as Prishe's partner Ulmia. From a pure story point from CoP to RoV, Tenzen is very important so he's a shoe-in. Beyond that you'd be looking a minor NPCs (Trion, Ayame, Apururu, Morimar, etc.) but they are more unlikely.
agreed on XII but would like them to add Llyud from RW
agreed on Team NORA. Noel's data is in the game so I could see him added eventually. Chocolina just for the possibility of her SB and how silly it could be. Maybe even the Angel of Valhalla.
XIV the other Scions are a lock. Leaders are a maybe, Hildibrand would be a must. I'd also like to see Ysale & G'raha Tia make it in.
and of course, Noctis and his crew are a lock as well.
HOLY FUCK IM ACTUALLY RETARDED. I wasn't kidding when I said I was bad with greek numerals. I thought I was talking about FF 13 all along... I noticed when I googled ff12. I am in fact talking about the one with Lightning.
I see, what about XII-2 and Lightning returns? Are those worth picking up too or should I pass? Am I going to feel cheated out of a story if I don't play the sequels?
It gets a lot of hate because it differs vastly from previous games of the saga, so it's probably going to be okay for you.
It has its massive flaws but eh, you can try it.
Honestly, the best game to get into the saga for a completely new player is FF10. It's not so old that the graphics are absolute horseshit and it's pretty accessible.
>FFXIV dungeon 1
>hey man can u kill 6 rounds of boar asses for me thanks
>FFXIV dungeon 2
>hey man can u get some bat wings for me thanks
Aerith a cute! How come she is almost never posted here or discussed?
