Since this game isn't getting a sequel, let's make one ourselves.

What would the next game be about? How would it be different gameplay-wise? Would you take it the Aliens route and make it more action-based, or add new stealth mechanics for the Alien and Androids?

I probably would take a Aliens approach where they are still practically just as dangerous as the first game, but you can now kill them. Killing one still has a chance of having multiple of them rain down and flooding the area. Maybe also have a mechanic where killing to many will damage the ship you are on causing further issues down the line or immediately.

It is a mystery. If you've ever listened to Straub's talks about horror, you get the impression that he doesn't really know what the hell he's talking about half the time. And yet, Local 58 is pretty consistently amazing. Candle Cove was pretty cool, too.

Here's a horror vidya idea: We start looking into who the janitors are (this is very easy and already been done for the most part) and we stalk/doxx them until they learn to stop deleting video game threads in the video games board.

There are two ways to scare it off iirc. Flamethrower fucks it right off, and the charge gun. But you pretty much have to have the charge gun already charged, since the alien is so fast.

No killing it though. I think this is the perfect solution for a horror game, when trying to avoid a walking simulator. Have a monster that you can drive off, but not kill.

You get a fuckload of weapons in the game, e.g. molotovs, shotgun, flamethrower, pipebombs, etc.

All get the alien to fuck off for a while but some are easier to use than others, e.g. the pistol barely works but the flamethrower is the win button.
