Default walking speed is a bit slow. Rushing to get the horse helps a bit. Once I get a steady supply of coffee going, that's all I need.

I like harvest moon but something about Stardew didn't seem right to me at first. I think the main two issues is I don't like the artwork (portraits) and time seemed to moved even indoors so days seemed really really short. Sort of minor issues and I do plan on going back and playing it thoroughly. Are there any good mods for the art?

What crops do you guys plant in each season to maximize profit in the mid-game? Do you buy loads of low-return for that exponential growth, or just buy the highest-return regrowable ones?

Anyone play starbound? Looks like a mix of this and tererria. More of the second. Any good?

Starbound just sucks, it has a lot of features but all of them are half assed. You'd think with a randomly generated universe there would be a lot of variety but no, once you've seen every type of planet once there's no reason to go on.

I quit this game after I made a beautiful little grass covered meadow for my livestock and then the game ripped out all my grass and deposited it all over the fucking map in the next spring, leaving me unable to grow a new meadow because the fucking chickens ate the grass faster than I could plant it. Did they fix that yet?

It creates more biomes as well as more "landmarks" (not sure what they're called, basically prebuilt structures you can stumble on while exploring/digging).

My problem is that it adds so many more items that it compounds the inventory management problem vanilla Starbound already has. You will always be loaded and having to toss things to pick up other things, you will always have to keep going back to base or your ship to store stuff, and you will always have to be going back and forth between them all to build shit.

The issue with frackin is that it does nothing to address the atrocious inventory management system the game has, you get hundreds of new blocks and shit to deal with but no effective way of sorting it or storing it beside just building bigger crates.

That, and there's ultimately still fuck all reason to do any of that shit, combat never changes from doing the same damn shit all fucking game, movement options are as limited as ever and frackin ties armor to atmosphere types forcing you to wear specific gear in specific locations. Add to that things like torches being fucking garbage and your options for lighting the way IN A FUCKING SPACE TECH GAME are so fucking horrendous that your best bet is still sticking a burning piece of wood to the wall.

Does anyone else tend to quit once they get the greenhouse/complete the town hall?. By that point I usually have a farm that provides way more money than I need and the lack of proper in game goal really tends to kill my interest. I mean I guess there's exploring the endless levels of the desert dungeon or getting every villager to ten hearts but that stuff just doesn't really interest me.

I want more end game content and something to do with my fat stacks of cash. Give me ways to invest in the village. Let me help out some of the citizens with my money. Let me buy Linus some land and build him a little cabin. I want big, end game goals that change the village in meaningful ways.

Eh, if you're like me you'll enjoy it for half an hour. It really is a terribly shallow game. The game has a million worlds and a million enemies and a million cosmetics for you to wear. But all the worlds feel the same more or less. I mean you get lava planets and ice planets, but you play them all the exact same way. You avoid the dangerous liquids, hop over shitty mountains and dig for whatever super ore you need on that tier of planet. The enemies are all the same as well. They either charge at you, fly at you or shoot at you. You fight every enemy in exactly the same way, jump over their attack and then hit/shoot them. The cosmetics are the best part. The sprite work is actually decent. But when the best part of your game is some poster you found in dungeon #49487650 on poop planet #89877645 then it really is a shit game.

What a shit system and every game after it took the same idea and made sure you never had enough inventory to handle what you were trying to get. Rune Factory and Stardew Valley were fucking god sends from Harvest Moon hell.

FoMT was pretty sweet and probably still my favorite Harvest moon together with back to nature since it's more or less the same game, with some changes here and there. Had a basket that could hold 30 items.

All I need to finish the bundles are apples, a pomegranate, a duck feather, and a truffle.

I got trees growing in the greenhouse and a duck to give me a feather eventually. But I'm going to have to go all the way up to a deluxe barn just to get a fucking pig for this one truffle. I don't have any barns.
