Is this where I should cry about being unable to do missions in UNIST? I swear half the characters I've tried so far eventually instant 66C or 66B after a landing from a jump but I just keep fucking it up

It literally teaches you combos off of every starter and weird ass situation you'll probably ever get into in an actual match. At the same time it gives you enough of the basics that you can narrow it down to 5-6 optimal BnBs for casual play and still do decently. It's seriously one of the best mission modes in any fighting game.

So my paltry attempts at just informing others what the story mode is going like. Prologue starts with naked Vatista just narrating the beginning of things. Then it unlocks the first chapters for Orie and Yuzu's episodes. Orie's first chapter is her and Lex arriving in the city with their assignment to live out their lives as students while they investigate the Hollow Night

Orie is pretty popular so she'll probably get in.

Yuzuriha, who's mostly going over the Hollow Night with her sister, Hiroha. Unlike Yuzuriha, Hiroha wasn't given this duty since she doesn't have any EXS powers but due to the family's job, she knows enough about it. She's also the one who gives Yuzu the phone she keeps taking selfies with.

Yuzuriha's patrolling rounds has her run into Tsukuyomi and friends. No Byak though and Tsukuyomi isn't wearing the flower on her hair.

Yuzu plays teacher and gives a lecture about the whole EXS and Hollow Night to this one dude who doesn't seem to know a lick of this shit while being an in-birth himself

While the series is good i don't know how much content it adds so i'm wary for now. I skipped all BB games from CS1 to CF and waiting for me were completely new mechanics and 16(17) new characters, which is enormous.

Byakuya runs around town trying to find her, assuring himself that she's safe. He trips over something and finds a woman's body. Cue him in his room going absolutely mad blaming himself for not being there with her and begging for her to come back

Something snaps and he seems really calm now and says he'll go meet with her. He somehow finds himself somewhere pitch black and soon finds some enormous glowing eyes staring at him. At first he's in pain and screaming for his sister to save him but just calmly accepts it.

And then he just wakes up the next morning on some grassy field

So Chaos' story seems to take place way earlier than the others if we're supposed to take Gordeau and Chaos' long-time friendship seriously. Chaos catches Hilda and Gordeau out at night talking about Licht Kreis, which might have been the first time the two have mentioned the term as far as we know. Gordeau notices Chaos' eavesdropping but decides not to call him out on it. Chaos pieces together some information, literally breaks into a house that holds some artifacts and finds the book he carries around. Orie of all people appears after hearing a report and Chaos defends himself by summoning Azhi for the first time.

Enkidu's story mode takes place after Gordeau's where he gets invited by Hilda on his "recruitment" deal with the group. Hilda guesses that Enkidu was a bit ticked off at not being able to fight during the fight with Bankikai despite being promised that he'd get a good challenge. Hilda then recommends Enkidu to try and fight Chaos or Gordeau and Enkidu goes into his philosophy on fighting and all that. Dude is absolutely stoic while Hilda is practically a party animal who offers him a drink when they meet and once again after Chaos joins the conversation. I can't tell what exactly the reason for Enkidu joining her but he seems to alright with them. Chaos wants to discuss more of the organizations current objectives and Enkidu says that he really doesn't have an input whatsoever so he tells them to speak among themselves. Chaos however acknowledges what power Enkidu has and states that he should at least give his thoughts on the matter now.

I think his basic bio was enough honestly. He's an avid practitioner of some ancient martial arts, runs out of actual people to fight, gets willingly bitten by a void to he can fight in-births and voids. The void he got bit by was small as shit so his actual EXS abilities are as strong as the others but he makes up for it by being an actual fighter.
