Which is a pretty shit complaint, since at a certain point the game should be feature and content locked and only have bugfixing going on. God this is Dishonored beat testing bad if it's true, that games pvp was piss easy to understand and master the issue was the weapons were not available to everyone so you get games where one team had the best guns you could get while the other still hadn't been blessed with RNGesus to get them.

I want to be hype because I genuinely loved Destiny, but they're taking away like half of what I liked about the game.

The PvP was fun because the game had well-made fps mechanics. Gunplay is one of the things that helped make up for the lack of story. If Bungie was allowed to create the game in their original image, it would've been truly exceptional; I believe that we have a chance to see that now.

...but the fact that it uses your melee charge(static cool downs for everything by the way! forgot that!) is absurd. They hate mobility that much and mobility was one of the things that made Destiny PVP unique.

It won't. That was the big problem with vanilla destiny and was mostly fixed in years two and three. They're using the same system which means any legendary or greater armor you get will remain viable via infusion for the games lifespan. It works well and really increases the number of viable armor sets. ie: basically anything is viable not just the latest raid set , there for you can use what actually looks good and have a lot of sets to pick from.

Again, not really true. If anything, Bungie didn't address the sandbox often enough. Things did change drastically periodically, but on a month to month basis you were basically good.

As for why people didn't play rumble, people don't like getting their shit pushed in over and over again without any help. 6v6 was the most popular game mode for a reason. Easy, cheap kills with supers or cleanup with team shots. You could basically run around like a moron and go positive.Rumble was the opposite of that, which is the main reason it was the go to playlist to play if you wanted to git gud.

Bungie has been obsessed about raid gear being rare, hard to get, and specail snowflake status. They had a fit how easy people blasted through the first raid and delayed hard mode of the second raid for a month to basically try and force the hard raid to be unbeatable (they arrogantly brag no one would clear it for a while, 2 hours after drop it was cleared) after that didn't work they just scrap the 3rd raid all together and spent a year trying to make a hard raid that would keep people coming back, because at the core that was the issue they were having was once people got their raid loot, they just stop playing all together.

I also find it highly unlikely that somebody who seriously went for one didn't get something usable. We weren't talking god rolls, we were talking useable. Rifled/Reinforced has a 1/3 chance to drop on each node, so you had a 2/6 chance to get a shotgun that hits the range cap every time you had one drop.

50/50 on aggressive ballistics, so you are looking at about a 16% chance per Matador. That's honestly not bad considering how often they dropped.

I actually got extremely lucky with that one with a Rangefinder/Rifled/trash third perk with good sights eventually though. I had Rangefinder/Luck in the Chamber drop twice and I flipped the fuck out both times only to be burned by no Rifled or even Reinforced. It was perhaps the lowest moment in my miserable life.

I keep trying to find what the major changes from Destiny 1 are. All I find is them saying better story, and the rest are vague things like learning from their past mistakes.

There are very few major changes. Weapon types have been revamped for better or worse and rules for PvP have been shuffled around but the minute-to-minute gameplay is going to be very similar to D1. We don't know what the endgame routine will be like at this point but it will probably be a lot like D1, too.

The levels and missions you mentioned are probably just the story missions, which might as well not have existed in D1 and were just something you had to get through to do raids, which were what made D1 fun. They're making a "cinematic story campaign" this time but it will probably still be something you do just because you have to, although they're putting effort into making them not boring shit this time.

Ask again when the game has been out for a couple of weeks and we know what the endgame routine is like.

Yes. They changed some of the old classes up a bit and added a couple new ones. New guns types like grenade launchers, SMGs, and linear fusion rifles. Swords were added during Destiny's lifespan. They made changes to how you gear up and and improve your gear over time as opposed to just getting rid of them the second an item of higher light lever comes your way. A bunch of other stuff too, you might wanna check /vg/ or a better, comprehensive place.

Same classes, 3 of the sub-classes have been overhauled, 3 of the sub-classes have been ported mostly as-is, 3 of the sub-classes are in a state of quantum superposition where we don't know if they'll be in the game or not until we'vre played a bunch.

Special weapons and heavy weapons have been combined into the Power weapon slot. Replacing the special slot are energy weapons, which are the same kinds of weapons as primary (now called kinetic), but with an element attached. SMGs (even shorter range auto rifles) and sidearms are kinetic/energy; grenade launchers and linear fusion rifles are in power.

We've only seen one mission so far, and it looks more interesting than the first mission of Destiny, so there's hope on that front.

...the weird thing is they want it both ways. They're trying to appease people who bitch about the game/casuals as well as be "E-Sports" with the PVP. The fucked up part is that a lot of the mechanical changes they've made actually lend themselves very well to a bette Rumble experience. Rumble was my favorite playlist, but I won't lie to you as claim that cheap shit like shoulder charge and sticky grenades on absurdly fast cool downs weren't easy as fuck to abuse in it. With all of that gone and a focus more on primary gunfights, it has the potential to be a lot more popular.

PVP balance was a frustrating issue in general in D1 and Rumble gave you less shit to hide behind. Of course casual players didn't want to touch it and go 3-15 every game.

I was considering getting Destiny 2 after hearing Marty got everything he asked for from those bastards still at Bungie and Activision but honestly I'm seeing a lot of troubling signs all pointing to Destiny 2 being just as horribly mismanaged as Destiny. So what I'm going to do is wait for an edition with a bunch of the DLC on it and see if the game is shit at that point or not.

Pretty sure this is going to suck for people who preordered it though.

I'm sure they're going to get buffed to the tits which is better for PvE than anything. Most Heavy weapons have comparable damage aside from the exotic perks so snipers will probably be a lot more precision damage and shotguns will do a lot of damage.

I also think that heavy ammo will be more readily available at most times, as PvP drops are apparently now only single use for the person that activates them, so either only 2 people on a PvP map have heavy ammo at one time or there's a lot more places to get it and they probably come around more often.

I think everyone is reacting a bit too strongly to this and they just need to try it before they knock it. With maps being smaller as well I don't see it as a big problem. It just means things will be less messy and you need to think a bit more about what you're doing.

It takes way too long to find the right people on LFG sites, up to an hour at times, and you're forced to go on Reddit because Bungie thought it would be a good idea to not have an in game LFG/custom matchmaker. Once you're in the raid, half the time people are jumping down each others throats, or entitled brit bongs get pissy if someone slips up one too many times. Then if you're at the halfway mark of the raid and people start giving up because its taking too long, you have to wait even longer and who knows who will join your team at that point. Challenge modes made raids even more cancerous because it dilutes the LFG pool where certain people want to be at a certain raid check point, but others want to start fresh.

All of this and you're not even guaranteed the shit you want.
