it's also a bit more fun to play since i found hw monk a fairly boring class, since it only got like elixir field, a qol change with form shift, and like three things you used once per fight if at all. riddles of fire/earth + chakra gains + brotherhood make it a much more active class, especially against the background of most of the other classes got a lot of skills pared down

Square Enix stopped supporting the game after 2.0.
XIV needs a triple-A sized dev team to keep the patches consistent, varied, and meaty; but they're staffing it like an indie game to maximise profits at the cost of sustainability.

HW only had the 3 3.0 MSQ mode primals, the warring triad, and one 3.x MSQ trial, while ARR had 3 2.0 MSQ primals, 3 2.x MSQ primals, 3 sidequest trials, 2 other 2.x MSQ trials, and Odin. SMN is pretty strong right now but it is probably one of the least forgiving dps in the game at the moment. A lot of your damage is locked behind your burst phases which you can mess up do to a number of factors if you aren't planning for it or things go wrong.

AST has access to one of several buffs locked behind rng every 30 seconds or 60 seconds to modify it to last longer, act stronger, or apply to the whole party at lower strength. One of the buffs, The Balance, is the most powerful group damage buff in the game.
