I started on JP around January 15th 2017. I got both Herc and Marie on tutorial.
I now sit with Chacha, Herc, Artoria Alter, Chevalier, Orion, AHCHAH, Atlanta, Marie, Astolfo, Da Vinci, and the assassin oni loli whose name I will never recall.
The game is still at large simple without a team of 5*s but the rolls are also not horrific with how much the game can shit out Saints Quartz.

The problem isn't getting those 5*, you'll eventually have a huge backlog of really cool 5* that you'll probably really like, the problem is getting THOSE SPECIFIC 5*

Getting good 5* and having fun is relatively easy, GETTING MU WAIFU THAT I NEED TO LIVE is designed to be really fucking hard. My suggestion is to, calm down and focus on one or two MUST HAVES, and then just have fun and roll a 10-roll or two when something interesting pops up.

I think people re rolling to get like... waver specifically are crazy, it's just not worth it to reroll 500 times to get him, but I think rerolling 100ish times to get a good chance at a 5* is perfectly fine. A reroll only takes 3 minutes, and getting a good starting team means youll be able to farm ascensions for your waifu, and get all the free quartz, and complete events and get all the free 4*s and free quartz there too. It's a snowball effect. IF you have nothing then you're just waiting for something, if you start with something then you have a great chance to get anything else you want.

I will admit, that it isn't as necessary as, say, Fire Emblem Heroes. In FEH, if you don't have a decent 5*, you are basically going to be screwed out of a lot of fights until you spend the 20,000+ feathers to upgrade another one of your units. In this game, you can certainly manage with basically anyone, and the fairly common 3* units you pull are not going to require anything special to be great.

On the other hand, some people are only playing this for their one (or sometimes ten) waifus, and so I can understand that they insist they get the characters they want.

Each iteration adds it's own type of extra class, more or less because they've fucked the HGW already in some way:

They're all just slight bends of the rules, something every HGW does anyway, and just lets different heroes come in or reclassify people. All the extra classes usually only get 1~3 people anyways who are the new focus since there's usually not even a grail or goal.
