Personally I disliked FO4 because it lacked a decent main story, it wasn't terrible but nothing to brag about. To me they should have focused on the story and side quests instead of settlements, along with three fucking DLCs being settlement shit.

It was fun for a bit but was so lack luster I can barely drag myself through the campaign more than once.

I can't believe how quick it took for me to become bored with Fallout 4. I remember being a bit put off with how shallow Skyrim was, but then shockingly Fallout 4 managed to be even MORE shallow. BGS should just go ahead and drop the RPG angle from their games, since they're slowly becoming nothing more than significantly less polished Far Cry games anyway.

I really want to mod the hell out of Oblivion. I have so much nostalgia for both it and Morrowind, but there's just the right balance of depth, setting, comfort, and things to do in Oblivion that I remember it the fondest of all Bethesda's games. Even with the potato faces and the floaty jumping and the glitches. It's the one I'd go play the most.

Real shame about those faces, though. Kind of wish I could just play it in Skyrim but I like the mechanics too much, wish someone would just fix it up and tighten it where Bethesda never would. Or maybe they can stop rereleasing Skyrim and working on a dead MMO long enough to just fucking do it themselves.

Look, I would love to go back and love Morrowind like I did when I was a teenager, but the map's way too small, the game's broke as fuck, and the combat is mind-melting.

Oblivion had issues, but it was still great and I loved the setting, and the map felt like there were distinctly different areas and cities and things between, which I felt lacking in Skyrim.

Morrowind was shades of mountain and muck buts its cities stood out the best. The combat is boring but I wouldn't say it's easily broken unless your a sorcerer abusing the enhancement and magic systems at mid game. For either warriors or thieves the game is borderline forgettable except for the lore.

Oblivion has such bad level scaling that the game can become borderline impossible to play after a certain point for classes less oriented into direct combat and Bandits start running around in glass and Daedric armor. Its map consists of variations of deciduous forests.

Well I wasn't saying the combat was broken, I was saying it's boring and really, really janky. As basic as Oblivion and Skyrim were they were still miles ahead. And I prefer to play warriors and thieves, so yeah.

The difference between Bruma, Anvil, and Cheydinhal alone give the game way more variety than Skyrim, in my opinion, despite being a bunch of forest. It was still supper comfy to me. And while you do have a point about the dumb leveling, there's both ways to game it and tons of mods eliminating it entirely that are some of the most popular, obvious overhauls to take, so I'd go with one of those and enjoy the good.

You're not wrong, but as much as I love Morrowind, it's environment is 10/10, and the cities some of the best, the map's size and the gameplay can't be fixed with any amount of mods, and it's a real shame. The gameplay is just too archaic at this point, and not in a way I can ignore like other RPGs of the era.

First ever open world Bethesda game ever, had no idea what to do or what I could do, didnt realize I could fast travel for the longest time, and ended up hiking back and forth between the frost mountains northwest of Whiterun to haul back all the shit from Lydias corpse after she got annihilated by some frost trolls. Only survived by backpedaling like a motherfucker and having enough sense to load some perks into archery, didnt even realize Lydia was dead until about a 15 minute walk straight north from where she had died. Also, this is one of the first games that made me feel a crisp bite of pine-scented wind while playing it. Really loved this game, still do.

First Fallout game, had an idea of what to do because of Skyrim. Still had loads of fun, but after I beat the main story, where in my run, I attempted to try to find an end where everyone was happy and where I didnt have to kill anyone, but since that couldnt happen, I ended up nuking the Brotherhood, bombing the Railroad, and destroying the Institute. Mods and Survival mode are the only reason I come back to this game.

Tried playing this after running through New Vegas, just couldnt do it. Yeah, mods will help bulk the game up to playable status, like I did with NV, but goddamn the story is just shit, like FO4, but worse.

To be honest, I haven't played any of the others, save for about about 20 minutes on Oblivion at a friends house, so I wouldnt really count that as playing it. I tried a little bit of ESO because I had hoped it would be like Skyrim online, with all the trappings of Skyrim, but with your friends. Tamriel Rebuilt seems to have been dead half a year. Skyblivion is still going and is alright. I saw another project recently, and I can't find the fucking video again, but in like the last month they showed a video announcing they were finishing a section and releasing it, and it was just like Cheydinhal because it was close to Skyrim. Just looked like more Skyrim than a revamp.

I'd love it, I really would, but these projects have been going on so long that even the ones that look great have such little chance of getting finished I just ignore them.

As much as I hate many of 4's decisions I found 3 to be an absolutely horrible game. The shooting was worse than 4, the RPG mechanics were just as bad in their own way, and the world was even emptier. It's really just competing to see which is worse though, I'd only rate New Vegas as an objectively good game out of the box between those 3 Fallouts.

Did not age well. UI, leveling system, and scaling is a trainwreck. Suffers from a similar lack of depth to the other games here. Also totally butchered Cyrodiil. Redeemed by Shivering Isles, and extremely memorable quests in the Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild though.
