Stopped around the same place as you too. The game was fanfucking tastic but I feel like my mistake was blitzing through the dungeons in the first day or two then having a full month of doing almost fuck all. Doesn't help that once you get the mechanics down it's easy as fuck either.

I got bored way before that, around the culture festival. I've been playing since the release and the game's a huge step up (at least gameplay wise) from P3 and P4 but around the 4th or 5th dungeon I realized that I don't really give a shit about anime high school highjinks and I was only really playing for the palaces. Then the game locks me into 5+ hours of dialog and just pressing X and most of my hype died. I've barely touched the game since. It also makes me sad that if you're not finishing a palace on the first day you're wasting your time and I feel I can't enjoy the best part of the game since I'm rushing through it.

I got it during the end of my semester, so I only got a few hours to play every couple days; also, I finished at around 109 hours.

the problem is that the game's story and thematic grip starts falling off after Futaba's palace. Everything was very personal and high stakes before then. After you save Futaba though, everything else is 'we gotta save the world!' bs.

No moment raises the personal stakes or gets you involved or caring like Nanako in the hospital in Persona 4, or Shinjiro dying/Junpei loving the bad girl in Persona 3. It just becomes cliche 'fight the power!' shit for the rest of it. The interrogation room and capture stuff could have been a great way to regain interest and raise the stakes again, but it also fell flat because it was nothing new- it has been teased and shown throughout the game, so it felt more like retreading old ground than it did feeling like the stakes were suddenly risen.

I wish Persona wasn't so secretive about inheritance types. Im at the start of new game plus and i have yet to pick up the game in a while becasue of how long the game takes to trully get started.

Currently playing Star ocean HD and that has the same problem,but now that im thru the start of the game its just as fun as i remember it.
