Looking at the E3 pics it seems healers got the MP costs of many of their DPS abilities lowered.

We all are puzzled on why the lily cooldown mechanic exists. I think there is a strong reason why. Let's look at the toolkit some.
Thin air, which gives a short duration of 0 mp cost for spells. The 0 MP cost is important to this theory.
lilies, which reduce the cooldown of your OGCD abiltiies like the 0 cost Tetragammon, mp refreshing 0 cost Assize, and 0 cost benediction.
Confession, a stored AOE heal mechanic.
At first, this all doesn't make sense when considering how WHM is played now. But I suddenly realized that all these abilities make perfect sense if this happens:
Mobs in Stormblood will attack player MP as well as HP
The idea is A11's photon. We are fighting a raid boss, and suddenly all of our MP is dropped to 1 MP. This is when lilies make sense...you cut the cooldown of your abilities that don't require mp to heal, or even refresh MP. You save stored heals for when you are zeroed out from attacks so you can survive till you rebuild MP normally.
It may not be zeroing out. It may be infirmity status, or suppuration (healer's max MP is reduced) or something along those lines. But I think if you look at healer changes, they make a lot more sense if our MP is getting attacked during fights. Our MP regen is perfectly fine in HW now because there's really never any dramatic lessening of it unless we die and are raised. But if we are alive and our MP is constantly getting whittled down, drained, or zeroed out, all these stored heals and MP regen tools make more sense.
Even the mana battery ability of BLM makes sense too, because Healers generally can regen MP well enough on their own to not require reduction of a player's DPS. This is why Mage's Ballad on bard is not useful except out of combat or in phase transitions. But if we are at critical MP, and a buster or aoe is coming up, it can be a wipe situation if we don't stop dpsing to transfer MP.
