As others said, the story is kinda shitty in the good way, it's just enough to keep your adventures and explorations afloat. I get a classic JRPG vibe with a "western" paint-coat, but that must be just me.

A lot of your questions are silly, and mostly just seek opinions of others. If you were interested enough in the game to buy it, or pirate it, then you should be able to formulate your own opinion.

Some early tips? Enter Dripstone Cave from the back entrance before fully exploring it so your Pawn will get 3 Star knowledge of the location. Goblins are weak to fire and ice both. And wolves hunt in packs.

I definitely recommend selecting your main pawn's class to complement you, for example a fighter/mage combo is very fun since your mage will constantly buff/heal you. Also, deposit all your materials into storage, since you can still enhance items with them stored away. Eternal ferrystone is in your storage by default, along with some excellent gear - the monocle you can actually sell for like 300,000 if I remember correctly, which is godly. Anyway, fast travel works via eternal ferrystone and any portstones (fast travel checkpoints) you have placed down (if you have none, you can still warp to major locations like Grand Soren. Also, always bring extra oil.

TL;DR - Sometimes the game doesn't explain too much so feel free to consult a wiki. Anyway, love you OP, have fun <3

I totally feel you on that because most helmets are ugly as fuck. Luckily there are those bands/tiaras (not sure if that's the right word) you can use instead of helmets, I believe you get a really nice one in your storage for free.

Remember not to bother with stats on armor for your arisen. It's a waste of time to minmax your armor when you can dodge almost every status effect and attack in the game.

Pawns on the other hand should maximize thier status resistances, particularly sleep, petrification and cursed. Get those up and you should see an increase in survivability and the amount of hires you get from other players.

What classes do you guys think are the most fun? So far I'd have to say Mystic Knight. Perfect blocks with burst of magic feels so fucking good.

Warrior is my second, generally really solid moveset, the aerial attack is really solid for chaining together attacks and exodus slash is gold. Plus most greatswords look amazing.

I think Holy Wall actually gives you a bigger (and maybe stronger) shield, where as the other abilities like Flamecounter are used to deal damage back to enemies with each block (with extra damage via perfect blocks.)

Do the Sorcerer's augments that effects casting times and stamina consumption from spells also effect the magic stuff for the sword and shield with Mystic Knight?

The story is about what you'd expect from a JRPG, it's more fleshed out than Dark Souls but not as good even so. The combat is genuinely fun, feels like a cross between Mon Hun and DaS combat, casting is a lot more fun in this game than most.

I finds that Mystic Knight is the most fun to play, but by no means the most powerful. Try all the classes, there's no real downside to trying them all out.

As for early tips, don't fret too much if you can't complete a quest, move on to another one and come back to it later. Check out your stash, it should have some valuables worth using/selling. Upgrade your weapons, healer pawns are OP as fuck, make sure to keep them alive cause if you lose them you need to go back to a rift to get them. Climb on monsters by jumping on them and holding to deal damage to weak spots, like an eye or head etc. Also, fire is useful in the beginning. Other than that it's pretty self-explanatory.

This game just keeps getting better. Playing blind so it's taking me a lot longer than it should, I guess, but man I have to force myself to stop playing. Had a slow start but now that I'm used to it and the importance of pawns, the shit is addicting as hell.

The existence of pawns is extremely wasted potential. I didn't feel anything at the end of the game for my beloved or my main pawn. The only explanation about pawns with that they have no emotions made them even worse.

Sorcerer is a bit boring in the early game but gets fucking awesome in the late game.

Warrior (2 handed vocation, upgrade from fighter) is really fucking awesome in the early game and either stays awesome or completely drops off, depending what kind of person you are.

Both are really satisfying. There are cool, massive spells and the Warrior class has a charged attack that can knock bosses over easily while dealing a FUCKLOAD of damage if you hit a weakspot.

Warrior is generally more difficult though, because that charged attack is unreliable compared to everything else. It makes you move slow as a slug while charging up, and it takes really long to reach full power, coupled with the fact that you need to release it just as it reaches the peak for maximum damage, which is difficult to do when bosses move around.

You'll have to do a bit of grinding to get your vocation rank up. I would just look it up and see if there are any skills that interest you in them.

Pawn is a bit trickier. Not only will you have to level their vocation back up, but it would do you well to change their inclination too. Strider pawns naturally adopt Scather and that is not the best one for a Fighter. Google that shit.

Are there any noteworthy sidequests? I barely did any and just finished up the main quest. I'm now at BBI and just want to beat it to wrap this game up for me. I may look around the world map without doing any quests, it isn't too big. But really, BBI seems to be the highlight of the game anyway.

The Griffin quest is one of my favorite of all videogames. I went into it having not explored North of the river and it was the greatest fucking adventure.

combat, exploration, and just general physics and movement are all so fun that the game is very worth playing.

I personally liked the story but it's the common Japanese repeating cycle story so it's unoriginal and the pseudo-old-english gets old quickly.

I need some opinions. I bought this game on my 360 a few months ago, very soon before they announced the PC release. I plan on getting my first PC set up petty soon (I have most of the parts now) and I haven't beaten the game yet (I stopped like a month and a half ago because I've only been playing Xenoblade, so I'm only at the Everfall Caves or whatever right now).
