>999 or VLR
ZERO TIME DILEMMA HYPE
What are Akane's true motives?
In ZE1 I assumed it was
the selfish desire to save herself. She had to set up the events of the second Nonary game in order to prevent a paradox.
Basically, why did she decide
to save the world?Does she feel personally responsible in some way or is it just cliche altruism?
It's definitely not just pure altruism. I don't think we're supposed to know her full intentions, but at the very least you can understand why she wouldn't want to
live in a shitty world.
>why she wouldn't want to
That's completely understandable. It's just a long undertaking that at times required her to
die a few times when Dio gives her a good shank. That's a lot of effort and devotion. In terms of altruism, I just wonder if it's partially the fact that she can see the different timelines thanks to the morphogenetic field and so she thinks she should use it "for good"
That's just a hobby of hers I guess. Though technically did
>That's just a hobby of hers I guess. Though technically did Ace kill everybody?
Ye good luck convincing the courts that when it was Akane that put the fucking bomb on the poor sod's wrist to begin with.
>Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client may have put a bomb in this man's stomach after kidnapping him and subjecting him to psychological trauma but was she the one who caused it to blow up?
She wants a happy life with Jumpy.
The purest and most moe one, of course.
Why the fuck do you create these threads at 2 in the morning?
You'd be an idiot to cancel your pre-order. The ZE series is not your average series. Pirate whatever but don't pirate the game that we almost didn't get.
Summer of this year I believe
Goodness, you are such a rude woman.
I mean... in some of the timelines...
>Why the fuck do you create these threads at 2 in the morning?
I'm awake and felt an urge to talk about it.
>Phi and Lotus
>Digital Root, Chill and Rigor, Demise, Sepentary Game
I am particular beyond excited for ZTD. I thought I'd hate this series because I didn't understand the love for VNs and now I'm hooked on them.
I wonder if Sigma(K)will be the main character, since he was shown (or someone that resembled him)in the current leak or if they will focus on Junpei again, Phi or someone different. I doubt the idea that it would reuse previous protagonists, but it is just speculation.
I think it would be Phi, K, or a new character. I think it might have some
Death. Or a good ending.
I can't help but groove every time
I like both Pic You can't like only one
I preferred the story and atmosphere of 999 but the puzzles of VLR kicked ass.
Best girl Akane.
you know what the best song is
I got the knife ending and i loved it, really caught me off guard
>yay, now junpei and akane can be happy together since we found the 9 door!
>but first, lemme just check out this elevator
I got knife because MUH WAIFU.
>find 9 door
>oh shit we're going to get out fuck yeah ROUND UP THE GANG
>YO, OCTO TITS WHERE YOU AT GUR-
>turn the corner and see Lotus dead, blood everywhere, body cold and lifeless
>Holy fucking shit
>get me the fuck outta h-
> . . .
> . . .
In what way?
For all you know you're in some desert.
The suits are to counter virus, you even see the Blood Moon that convinces you of the date. No way to know it's fucking Earth without getting other endings first.
What I hated about Dio ending is how after it I still couldn't bypass Who planted the bomb locks
Not the anon you replied to, but Dio's ending together with the blood moon article made me think that there's a very good chance we're on the moon.
Maybe it's because I play a lot of games like this but my first thought when seeing the blood moon article is that it's game is trying to make us think we aren't on the moon after seeing the red "moon" in Dio's ending when we actually are.
It looks nothing like a desert, and the fact you go through a depressurization chamber in suits that are blatantly not just hazmat/containment suits made it abundantly clear to me they were on the moon somehow or another.
All the talk of Radical 6 slowing down your sense of time and the hints Sigma and the others had it on the other routes I'd hit locks on just made me more sure since it'd explain the gravity difference.
Maybe I was just too used to Uchikoshi's style of twists after playing all his old games after 99, but I thought it was obvious right away even if I didn't know all the ins and outs of how it worked.
But they explain that the facility has higher air pressure.
Seriously, if Dio's end was your first, than the Moon can only be a wild guess. Unless some other route convinced you, any evidence that it's the moon can be ruled out by some explanation.
Not really related but speaking of Radical-6, why does the time perception symptom only seem to noticably effect Sigma in the security room? Seems odd if he's supposed to be infected the whole time
Like I said, I already knew everyone in the facility had Radical-6 (making the quarantine stuff an obvious red herring) and the design of the outdoors plus the suits just didn't match up with what they supposedly were at all - the depressurization aspect of it just made me more certain they weren't on Earth.
Your guess is as good as mine desu.
VLR, but I need to replay them both to be sure
Chill and Rigor
Who do you think Brother is? Is it someone we have already directly met?
I'm certain Brother ain't a character we've met, since he was behind Ace and co. doing the first Nonary game and all the current cast either only got born way after it or were targeted by it
I'm betting we'll meet him in ZE3 though.
but with the time travel, especially with time travel that isn't just your mind, like Akane hinted at for Clover and Alice, I wouldn't be surprise if there's some shenanigans going on. I just don't know...
I'm still kind of expecting it to turn out Left was actually a good guy and Brother's enemy, he just got cloned against his will after being killed.
It seems like something Uchikoshi might do.
Trepidation is the best song in the game.
Yeah, I just fucked it up, I meant Dio...
Still, chances are we'll see both. The cast of ZE3 is already packed.
Sigma, Phi and Diana are confrmed.
Junpei too, but he's probably not a participant.
Left/Brother or both, Akane have a high chance to appear.
I bet we'll get someone from second nonary game too, most likely Light.
That leaves little room to new characters.
>Maybe it's because I play a lot of games like this
Seriously, though, the exploitation of tropes in 999 & VLR is fucking masterful.
Website. Google it and 'genre savvy'. Better yet, just look at its pages for VLR and 999. TV tropes is the fucking best. Addictive.
Yyyehp. I just spent the last two days trapped in cycles brought on by the 999 page. I love it, I just wish I could remember them all well enough to be able to pull out their hilarious names when I recognise them in media I'm watching.
The whole bit in VLR about Xnox's 10 commandments of mystery writing is pure TV Tropes. Gotta love Uchikoshi.
>1. The criminal must be someone mentioned in the early parts of the story, but must not be anyone whose thoughts the reader has been allowed to follow.
>7. The detective must not, himself, commit the crime
Uchikoshi had himself a little giggle when he put that in the game
I felt like 999 had a stronger cast of characters and an overall better plot, but VLR comes off as more of a duology than a stand alone title. Hard mode's ending was fucking incredible though, so I think they both shine in different areas.
Bluebird Lamentation. The build up from music box to orchestral is beautiful.
Am I the only one really hoping that the events of the next game aren't recreated history? I didn't mind it in
VLR, but I feel like it'll be played out if we see it happen again. Akane said they're going into unexplored territory and it'll be disappointing if that doesn't hold true, at least in the sense that the person behind Radical 6's outbreak isn't trying to fulfill some time loop with another nonary game. I don't know how I'd feel if Santa or Brother are behind the events of ZTD. Was it ever mentioned what the former was doing during the events of the second game?
>sub, axe, knife, coffin, safe, true
Couldn't have asked for a better order.
VLR's was either Tenmyouji or a lock at the computer log in screen.
I don't think
Santais ever brought up nor do I think he's behind the events of ZTD. The latter is more believable since it says an "unknown group" releases radical-6 so unless it's a twist that Crash Keys or the company that Clover and Lotus work forare responsible then it's probably the work of Free the Soul and Brother.
ZE3 is gonna have to be going through the real events and trying to change history because anything else would just be anticlimactic. We're saving the world here.
Please let it be this. Repeated history via elaborate setups is gay now.
My wish list is that the new game has a darker tone, gore again (the same amount as 999ish), traps, no repeated history, new characters, none of the "mass amnesia" bullshit, and an interesting thematic door set up like in 999 digital root theme and NOT like the coloured doors of VLR. And some characters who aren't all literally faking not knowing where they are the whole time. I hated that in VLR everyone wanted to be there was basically in on the whole scheme. We need more hopeless, terrified hostages, damnit!
Oh- also a lot less sci-fi Bs than VLR. I don't want magic slingshotting brains and robots and clones and moon bases and mystery viruses pouring out of nowhere. 999 had fantasy science, but it based so much of it on real events and conspiracy theories. One or two ass pulls like Morphogenetic field theory or a cool, tight story twist like Akane in the incinerator is great. Fifty thousand cybernetic virus robot clones on the moon exploding antimatter reactors with quantum computers while experienced slowed down time is just a runaway train of discordant ideas.
Please be more neat, ZTD.
My ending order was knife, axe, sub, safe, true and i thought it was great just because of how convinced it made me that Clover was the murderer.
>everyone looking for clover who has mysteriously disappeared, end up with a knife in the back
>Stay with Clover the whole time next run, end up with the axe ending which just reinforces what i think already
>Sub ending where I'm sure that the figure above you in the water is that crazy bitch
>my theory just gets trashed by the last two endings and I get really caught off guard by who the actual killer is
What a ride that was
At what point should I just stop coming by here considering the projected release date is in the summer and the fact that some autismo is probably working hours best efforts in order to get spoiler information from the game?
You cunts ruined danganronpa for me and I'll be dammed of you ruin zero escape
Stop visiting once it's released? Japan always gets it first so once it has a release there avoid the threads.
It has to be a real scenario this time, it just has to be. ZE1 was just to ensure there was no time paradox and to save Akane, ZE2 was for the purposes of training Phi and Sigma and setting up the time loop, and all of this is just the set up for the real deal: actually going back to the events of the Mars mission test site and preventing the actual spread of radical-6.
But I concur on less sci-fi shit.
The only thing that really got my gab in VLR was
space travel. I can handle robots, anti-matter reactors, viruses, and clones, but the way they got to the moon felt like it was handled poorly. Them being on the moon itself isn't my problem, but just "btw we hopped on a spaceship" felt half assed.
At the same time though, space travel is possible right now so maybe I'm just out of touch with the technology of today.
There were 54 rhizomes on the moon, which meant space travel had to be available for awhile before then. Somehow Akane also secured funds for the whole facility and everything in it, so seeing they have their own private spaceship doesn't seem too far-fetched.
