>One day, not so far in the future, I will be out there again, in a world of strife.
XIII and Xenoblade chronicles crossover confirmed
The entire world loves her enough to plaster her all over the most prestigious fashion brand stores around the world including the main LV store in France
Why do you still pretend to hate her?
I can see it all now.
>It's the end of the first part
>Aerith is praying to Holy
>Sephiroth is about to impale her, as she smiles one last time at an unsuspecting Cloud.
>Aerith turns around and blocks his comically oversized anime nodachi
>Aerith's wig dramatically slips off, her green contact lenses fall out.
>She was Lightning the entire time
>Replaces Cloud as the main character
>Solo's Sephiroth and all the weapons
>Slices meteor in half using all the materia
>It's revealed that Lightning has been in ALL the universes at one point or another using a series of colorful wigs and costumes.
>Quistis? That was Lightning.
>Paine? Yeah, that was Lightning.
>Rosa? Also lightning.
>That time your completely original character of your own creation met Lightning in Final Fantasy 14? Funny enough that was a time loop. Your character was Lighting all along. But how? Lightning was there! Well you're right, lightning was lightning as well. Now neither of you will be virgins.
I have no mouth, and I must scream.
Not because I have created a assinine scenario, but because I don't put it past them.
The entire world loves her, why don't you?
I have no ass and I must be Goddess
Yuffie and Vincent are going to be made mandatory this time around so having Lightning as a secret character could be interesting.
I mean, the remake is already going to fucking awful; the camel's back is broken, another straw isn't going to do much more damage.
loL nice try faggot, Ghesquiere has taken that brand in a direction beyond what Marc could ever think of. But no really, keep trying to be a part of fashion. I bet you look wonderful in your J. Crew, lol
Squaresoft's dream of realising a "virtual actress" with Aki Ross never came to fruition, but "virtual fashion model" seems to be working alright.
Honestly? More power to them.
I feel it was more of a mutually beneficially partnership.
Square gets more exposure for their waifu.
LV gets NEET bucks from guuurl gamers who would otherwise never buy his shit.
I'm not pretending shit, if I have more 'chest' and more ass than her I ain't attracted to it
inb4 fatass I've got a 38 chest, 28 waist, 36 around the ass and I weigh 130 pounds
Looks like their head designer is a bit of a weeb, because honestly, NEET girls would never spend that much on a bag because of advertising. NEETs and WEEBs like toys or things that can gather a lot of dust, not clutches.
Sure thing faggot, Lightning only has no ass, she has canon D cup tits, even the devs confirmed
Are these cutscenes prerendered or in real time? Never played FFXIII but the amount of outfits Lightning can equip make me think that those cutscenes are in real time, which is fucking impossible for PS360 hardware.
So a question from someone who hasn't played any final fantasy games since 12:
What are the lightning games like?
There seems to be this weird obsession with her, I know the jap guy in charge is insane, but are the games any good?
The games are decent. The memers constantly screaming they're shit are just mad FF7fags who can't deal with change and expect every FF game to be the same as babbys first FF by fisher price.
13 it self was visually stunning, but that's it. the story however had a lot of holes unless you read pages upon pages of the options encyclopedia of the world. So it's world building is awful. then there are the characters, which either didn't transfer well from Jap to eng, or they were just terribly written and the only people who like these characters are people who started with final fantasy 13.
the 2nd game was better, there was more sense being made but still it was weak. the third was just a fan wank of lightning.
in elder scrolls they tell you what's going on in the world already.
13 does not, they have no explination on what is what other than, that bad guy there.
>>324365428 spoonfeeding isn't giving you a basic background of what is what and what is going on.
this, you see 13 would have been a lot better if they added more time to background story instead of drama between characters.
even in elder scrolls the npcs tell you what is going on if you ask them.
The LORE is in there, not the plot
The game tells you everything you need as soon as possible
Think about Skyrim, how does that start?
>you're a prisoner about to be killed
>guy next to you is the leader of a rebel faction
>suddenly a dragon fucks shit up
>go to a nearby town of something
They do both
The almost 9 hours aren't just action set-pieces and anime drama there's tons of exposition dumps too
I don't get Lightning's appeal. Other than being constantly shoved down people's throat, I see nothing charming, cool or unique in her.
Please, someone sum her character up for me.
Also posting best FF girl.
part of that LOREX is in that immediate plot. they mention somethings about the those god things in 13 but never explain what they are or what they do until 10 hours later in the game. they constantly talk about then too, but never give a fucking explination.
the only exposition they seem to do is how the characters feel about their focus.
there isn't any exposition on pulse or where cacoon is or what the fal'cie are, those god things, or really any other weirdly named creature in the game. if they used normal terms to describe what they were talking about it would have saved us a whole encyclopedia read. But no this had to be special snowflake game that comes off as bad fanfiction.
Pre-aether Shtola is a dirty fucking hippie.
Post-aether Shtola is built for sex.
Best girl is Yda. Objective truth
>FF13 is shit
>Gets a billion sequels, lightning everywhere
>FF9 is great
>Released, never hear from it again
Why are they trying to shoehorn lightning into everything? She isn't even a good character
I like 'em both. I think the simple outfit fit her character better.
Yda is okay, never been a fan of the Rikku type of chicks in FF.
because she's the equivalent to pissed off teens all over the world. nothing interesting about her, boring as fuck, lots of grudges against any one who has a happy persona, plus she's pretty.
she is the female cloud but with a worse personality. God forbid they make an MC who is actually happy but not bubbly. it seems all they can do is go to extremes when comes to final fantasy characters.
as for ff9 at least we are getting a steam release. plus FF9 is fine the way it is, you add to many sequels you end up like ff 13 or 10 or worse ... the matrix.
Is it her back or front?
The presentation can be excused because FFXIII has arguably the most character-focused plot in the history of the series. It's the polar opposite of FFXII in a way, since that game was about Ivalice's political issues first and foremost and the chemistry among the party members was secondary at best.
JUST FUCK OFF AND STAY IN XIII ALREADY! YOU'RE A FUCKING PARASITE SUCKING THE BLOOD OUT OF ALL OF FINAL FANTASY
there is no excuse for such little presentation of the world. you might as have a blank sheet of paper and slap the characters there. if you want to focus on characters so much then set the scene that everyone knows, like Tokyo or some shit. when you have a fantasy style world you have to have exposition. none or little representation through out the story shows you didn't think or care that there is a world at all. they just over designed the background and and gave them weird names.
>The world building and lore of the XIII universe is amazing
Good world building has it well integrated to a story. It has a few cool concepts if you are willing to sit and read through a lot of bullshit. It is used terribly especially as the series goes on
What more exposition do you need that wasn't already show in the game? We clearly see how Cocoon is structured, how its system works and the degree of alienation and manipulation that is going on behind the scenes within few hours from the start of the game.
Gran Pulse has this aura of danger and mystery surrounding it until Chapter 11 because they didn't want to spoil the surprise, and once we actually get to explore it we see it firsthand and we get to interact and gather information from the ruins everywhere (especially in Oerba).
FFXIII's world building and presentation is excellent, as it serves its the narrative and not the other way around. If you don't appreciate it go back to whatever RPG you think is good at that and stop bothering us already.
>We clearly see how Cocoon is structured, how its system works
No we don't. You are dropped into a narrative where people through around a lot of words and parts of concepts that we are unsure how and why they work
It was my 13th FF and its plot was no more bullshit than the likes of FF4 with its repeated fake deaths and FF7 where half the plot points happen because of someone's inaccurate memories/research and I'm supposed to take that crap seriously each and every time.
Isn't that from some SE site poll? Of course they are going to love whatever they are spoonfed but when you look at the sales the series went from a combined 5 mil on the ps3 to 1 mil by LR. 4/5s of people who played it on ps3 didn't return
fist off no it didnt, why because it was never stated that cacoon was a floating sphere unless you read the codex. it takes hours for it to tell you what pulse is, plus when you are in cacoon you have a beach or a city then a casino land, it made you think cacoon and Pulse were one planet not 2 separate ones, and if it was a surprise why did the characters know what pulse looked like and not the player till immediately you land on pulse?
13's world building was awful, if you can't handle the truth and normal rules of story telling then there is nothing that can help you. when I played through this game the scenery kept changing making me wonder where the fuck I was. why is the government after me and why can't the god thing kill me when it has the power to turn people into crystals from far away? Each hall way was the designer jacking off to his ego.
the memories kept coming back and had relavence to what was happening then and there, it obviously had something to do with sepherioth or jenova and the mako, you saw what you needed to see to continue the story.
4 had bullshit deaths, at least we knew who those characters were and where we were in the story. 13 had bad exposition and was cut for more character fueled drama.
since you guys have no problem crashing other people's ff threads I don't see why others can't do the same to you
It also isn't help by a lot of it being bollocks. So a magic robot gives you as task, that's normal enough especially when you got crystals involved with an FF game. But it puts basically a timer on your mission and then doesn't tell you what it is, that's retarded and a terrible way to get what you want done which we see as some have become those crystal zombie things. So if you can some how figure out this task that it doesn't tell you you become a crystal and are basically fucked. Why would you ever do why this fucking robot doesn't tell you it needs doing when it is going to basically put you in a coma anyway?
had to reread that but yeah I get what you mean, but the vague mission of said magic robot could be be explained or expanded more by doing exposition such as: talk about their society in better detail, like ask lightning what was the military like did she get too see the magic robot up close? or talk more in detail about the planet they are on verses the planet they have to work for in more detail, or talk about their uprising at that train in the first place and why did they do it against their society. what their society was bad? any thing would have brought the player a closer understanding and said ok I now know what that thing is. but they don't, we got how they feeling at the moment.
I liked them doing it like this
The exposition is slow so it doesn't overwhelm you and they give you just enough to keep you interested and they never tell you everything to keep you curious
I wish more games did this
I thought the exposition was okay.
You see, before chapter 9 the party spends most of the time being split in pairs, with the main ones being Light/Hope and Sazh/Vanille.
Both of these pairs feature a young/inexperienced character and an older/seasoned one; the former asks questions about Cocoon and the latter answers, explaining how the world works.
This kind of exposition is nothing new in media, but it's simple and effective.
And a LOT of stuff gets explained to the player, especially between chapters 4 and 7. We learn about Cocoon, its people and their sheep mentality, its military, the War of Transgression, Fal'Cie and much more.
Now, for better or worse, all of this happens while the characters complain about their issues about being l'Cie, having a death timer engraved on their skin, having dead/missing relatives, being feared by the whole world and so on. Most players who dislike FFXIII tend to remember these aspects of the conversations that take place during the first half of the game, completely forgetting all the part about world building that I mentioned above.
7 does nothing like that, you see what your setting is in ff7 when you start the game, you get info on what is going on right off the bat. 13 didn't do that they didn't explain shit at all in the begining. ff7 actually does world building, they explain right off the bat that you are an ex soldier you are in a mega city that is destroying the planet, and you are there to take out the reactor with eco terrorists.
plus don't get too sensitive when I mention guilty, it can also mean the action was done by said thing.
the last of us was set in a post apocalyptic world, you don't need exposition to tell you this was the modern world you lived in.
in a fantasy world you have to have good exposition to explain all the fantasy creatures and fantasy society.
