does anyone here still play this game?
we used to have daily threads, even multiple threads a day about it, and then it suddenly disappeared
are they EVER gonna add the final stuff?
more mexicans who ran with the money?
>>324282991
they added a new set of like 12 levels I think
>>324283271
KSP has a major Unity 5 updates coming out soon, if we're thinking of the same Mexicans
>>324283271
they're british
I still play it from time to time, when a new update hits. But I would like more parts to build the stuff I want instead of levels. It still lacks so much in the parts/possibilities department.
At least they made the U5 transition pretty well, it just runs soooo good now.
>>324283595
I didn't know Britain had mexicans
>>324283705
>But I would like more parts to build the stuff I want instead of levels. It still lacks so much in the parts/possibilities department.
Same
I spend all my time in the sandbox anyway so I don't really care for new levels
I am waiting for more updates before I get back into it. I don't like checking out each new update with the early access model. They said 1.5-2 years until version 1.0 when it came out, which was just under a year ago.
>>324282991
People got tired of the game. There's only so much you can do, maybe when it's released it will go back to having more threads.
Is making flying shit still hard? Or did they change something?
>>324284819
>no chaos engine
Of course it's hard Anon.
>>324282991
EARLY ACCESS
It's basically just KSP with fewer possibilities.

Flying shit is easy shit.
>>324284906

forgot about that. That webm was from before people started figuring that shit out. I never realy messed with it cause it was around the time I started losing interest in the game.
>>324283271
>final stuff
They haven't even finished 2 land masses.
The continual claim is "once we finish the engine transfer, things will go way faster," but at this point, it's basically a stretched out excuse.
>>324282991
I play it whenever there is a map update. But Im not sure if it will ever reach the hight of those first few days when we discovered the spike grab glitch that led to the inferno engine and all the ridiculous stuff that came out of that
>>324283271
>more mexicans who ran with the money?
it was just 7 bucks and I got plenty of fun hours out of it so I'm ok
>>324286558
Those were the days. The threads we had were comfy and fun as shit
I don't know of any major glitches like the chaos engine that have been discovered lately, except maybe the scramjet water cannon bug. Basically you point a water gun forwards, accelerate the machine to high speeds and when you fire up the water gun it will provide forwards thrust, working better the faster you go
It made my supersonic steam car reach about Mach 1.31
>>324287792
If the game ever reaches a "released" state, we'll be back, don't you worry.
>>324282991
That was the best week on /v/
Remember when one of us discovered the Chaos Engine?
Remember how everyone found new applications for it?
I'll never relive those days
>>324288865
Just wait for another fun game to be releasednever
This is what early access does. Height of popularity when your game is in its most unfinished state and nobody cares what happens later.
>>324289046
It happened again with the PC release of Way of the Samurai 4, although it lasted around two weeks and a half, instead of just one week.
That was also very fun.

>>324291451
>it was only a week?
Talking about the golden age where every thread was a different invention and the excitement was only raising. That phase couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 days, that's for sure.
I just remember waking up one day without feeling the same excitement as before.
I get on /v/ and notice that it's the same for everyone.
After that it was about three weeks of webm dumps that nobody watched. The occasional two or three replies to the "loss" reference or the unusual bombing, but that was pretty much it.
>>324291684
Water guns were introduced in 0.11 I think
>>324289067
Early Access is mostly a hit/miss kinda thing. I'm new to Steam so tried a few early access games. Unturned is ok but doesn't allow me to use the gamepad. Plus it's hard to kill zombies for some reason.
What does a chaos drive do?
DID SOMEBODY SAY BESIEGE THREADI'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS

>>324295696
Nah they're from a mod. I tried vanilla-built wheels first but the car only managed to hit supersonic speeds once I tried the modded ones.
Vanilla wheels could only manage around 700 kph, or 900+ if using the scramjet glitch.
MORE CHAOS ENGINE WEBMS

After the whole Chaos Engine craze started, the mods allowed it for a week and then started banning Besiege threads on /v/ (saying it now belonged on /vg/). And as all things do on /vg/, the handful of general attempts died right away, while the threads were still bannable on /v/, and the interests died out.
The game is more fun with people to discuss it with and showcase your stuff. Without a place to talk about it, it can't last.

I mean it's fucking ridiculous that you still need mods to place blocks at angles other than 0/90/180/360 or to limit the rotation of steering hinges and blocks
Conventional prop planes were hard as fuck to build, last time I tried.
>>324308328
Because wing panels are infinitely better than those wing blocks.

>I mean it's fucking ridiculous that you still need mods to place blocks at angles other than 0/90/180/360 or to limit the rotation of steering hinges and blocks

Planes and airships are different things

You just have to balance the weight and the lift. Think of the center of lift as the same thing as the center of mass, only it's pushing the plane up instead of pulling it down. If CoM is far behind the CoL, the plane will fall on its ass. If it's the other way around, it will nose down. The center of lift is kind of like a fulcrum on which the plane has to be balanced.
You want to have the CoM in the same spot as the CoL or slightly ahead of it. Move the plane, start the simulation and watch what it does when it falls. If it pitches up or down then add or remove weight or lift (wing surface, aka wing panels) until it's balanced.
