>dead since launch
>not even hacked
Literally what is the point of the PS Vita? When is someone going to get CFW working on this thing?
>b-but th-those are weeb games so they dont count
I've used mine to play Spelunky, Super Meat Boy, Persona 4, La Mulana, Rogue Legacy, Grim Fandango, and Vagrant Story wherever I want. It's not a great system for exclusives, but I still use it more than my 3DS because of all the other shit you can play, and it's easier to carry or play in public
The Vita is awesome if you enjoy weeb games. If not then stay far away from it I guess. I have both a Vita and a 3DS. I play my Vita way more often, but both are great.
It's an Ys game, those are always good.
Why they'd bother to release this one on a platform no one takes seriously when the PC versions have been so popular is anyone's guess.
I;m having a blast with my vita. Alternating between Trails of Cold Steel and Code: Realize
Vitas 2016 line up is pretty nice 2bh senpai and this is not even half of the games coming out
>Not liking legit kusoge makes you a normie
How about you stop playing pandery garbage?
Literally the only worthwhile modern handheld games are on 3ds.
Feels so fucking good OMG.
First off, checked.
Last time I looked into it, the Vita is set up in a way that it can't be hacked without flashing the hardware, which in terms of releasing to the public, would be a very bad idea.
>Not knowing about custom bubbles
If you're on FW 3.52 and below check out
I was pleasantly surprised by Code: Realize. Otome games are sort of a guilty pleasure of mine, I still play them while knowing how awful they are basically. But Code: Realize was surprisingly pretty good story wise. It had it's share of stupid plot points and cliches but compared to all the other shit you always see in otome games it was actually pretty decent.
CFW on the PSTV when? I kind of want one since they're dirt and can play most of the Vita games I'm interested in but I don't want to rebuy my PSP games. It really should have some kind of UMD reader.
>buying the Vita versions of Steins;Gate, Sly Collection, J&D Collection, FFX HD, Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, and Akiba's Trip when you have a PS3
too bad only a few of them are actually worth playing and the rest people buy literally only because they're made in nipland
This tbqh. I sold my vita and haven't missed it at all.
Now that the 3ds has been busted wide open it's objectively amazing.
Been playing the shit out of undubbed stella glow, MHX and Fire EMblem Fates.
How can Vita white boys even compete?
Your forgetting that the resurgence in the Ys series came from the psp, you're forgetting that these consoles sell really well in japan, and so do the JRPGs that are released on them, which you dub "weeb games".
That's not how it works, reddit.
I never used my Vita. I beat p4g and Muramasa and Dragons Crown. Played through some PSP games before realizing there was nothing on the horizon that looked good and the prices were plummeting. Got like $300 for it with a handful of games in 2014. No regrets and nothing appealing has came out since.
>alive since launch but not popular
>no normie games and westaboo trash
>no piracy so developers keep supporting it
Literally what is the point of any other platform? When is someone going to get working DRM on PC?
Not even that guy, but I'm not poor I'm just a jew who doesn't buy video games.
I got a cool 4k TV today though,
MFW none of the devices I own can actually output 4k, I'm gonna have to get a new video card tomorrow.
It's a weeb machine, daddy! Besides the Vita is hot right now with all the releases it's getting. Before I got myself a PSTV, I was starting to get a little jealous of the Vitabros and all the cool games they were getting.
I hear it can Remote Play without needing to be on the same WIFI as the PS4, but knowing the godlike internet requirements for Remote Play, I doubt it works.
>Deception 4 NP: Asia Edition
>Steins;Gate: $20 Sale Edition
>Atelier Escha Plus: Limited Edition Edition
>Odin Sphere: Preorder
I feel pretty good right now. All Im waiting for now is the Oddworld and VA-11 HALL-A physical copies to be up for order
The vita has always had the superior library, the problem is 80% of it doesn't get localized, the library is there but the installbase in the west isn't big enough.
The one thing that is supporting the vita now is the fact that it hasn't been hacked and the installbase is growing. And just like the psp, it'll be supported for it's entire life cycle so it can only get better.
Now with Digimon Cyber Slueth, Odin Sphere, Exist Archive, God eater Rage Burst & Resurrection, Stranger Sword City, Dragon Quest Builders, World Of Final Fantasy, Steins;Gate 0, Ys 8, Pyscho Pass VN, MULUV, Dead Or Alive Extreme 3 and Trails OF Cold Steel 2 on the horizon it's a question of weather or not you actually enjoy games or have a bias against the vita that prevents you from doing so like
>>324220703 even though 2014 was not a good year for the vita or it's future, that's completely changed and 2015 was already a great year for the vita with a ton of releases.
The vita has all the characteristics of being a sleeper hit and Square has 2 more DQ titles planned for Playstation/Vita as well as the chance of localiztion for other titles from various publishers that increase daily.
Yeah Limited Run is doing both Oddworld
If they get 250 more Twitter Followersand waifubartending if they ever finish the game
Its up to you, I bought Retro City Rampage from them just fine. They're great
Nope. I wasnt interested so I didnt look into it. They should still have copies in stock though
That's a fucking bummer.
what song is that?
i wish i were smart enough to hack a 3ds. i also wish i owned a 3ds.
>psvita get hacked
kek, keep dreaming.
Whoa whoa, really? I was just about to order a Vita since my PSP broke, expecting I could just just play all my PSP games on it instead of rebuying my shit. Like my 3DS kind
I cant do that?
there are like 3 vita games worth owning and all are dirt cheap.
Yours looks similar to mine actually
Here's the disgusting main menu.
I'd have more physical but I have a ton of digital shit back from PS+ was actually good
Fucked up my reply. Moving is stupidly unresponsive.
It is a decent PSP emulator, but putting games on it is kinda obnoxious and the limited storage is terrible.
Thing desperately needs a microSD mod and better access to the file system.
The actual games on this thing are extremely fucking underwhelming trash.
The vita has an amazing library of games. The problem is that they don't get advertised so you have to actually know about videogames beyond what will make headlines on kotaku if it's going to be a worthwhile purchase.
Puyo Puyo Tetris
Taiko no Tatsujin V + Must Songs
Yomawari (though basic japanese would help a lot)
Most everything else that I'd recommend keeps surprising me with localizations like EDF, so I'm not really sure.
Currently have physically on Vita

>not even hacked
You'll notice that the PS Vita has its own memory card system instead of using something standard like SD Cards
This was most likely in response to the large-scale hacking, downgrading, and CFW installing on previous psp systems (which pretty much later killed the system, as people had stopped buying games in favor of pirating them)
You can probably expect Nintendo to give up trying to fight homebrew, and much like Sony, release a new handheld featuring its own custom memory card system
>This was most likely in response to the large-scale hacking
It was because people could use adapters for micro SDs in the PSP and they dont want people to do that.
This isnt the first time they are making proprietary memory card ripoffs, and it was NEVER about anti piracy.
Whats worst is that you niggers actually defend this practice.
Had to resave it from else where because I'm too lazy to grab my phone.
I've been enjoying it but it has frame rate issues and loading screens FOR FUCKING EVERYTHING EVEN ACCESSING DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE GOD DAMN MENU FUCK
i can't believe people how often people spew that retarded post now as a retort now
regardless, i honestly can't see why anyone likes it
grinding, bland JRPG story, terrible graphics, retarded camera, terrible level design
lasers explosions and going sideways
How many jap weeb games get english translation officially but just not sold outside japan or marketed in the west? Like how DOA is right now? How many jap games get fan made translations?
Lot of cool games but fuck I dont know the savage nip tongue and im too lazy and dumb to learn it
Omega Labyrinth Chinese/English version fucking when?
The only game that's like DOA in that it was only released in japan and translated into english for hong kong is moe chronicles.
Every other game you can import in english is getting localized/has been localized as far as I know.
What color is your vita /v/?
I got the white one and I love it.
boy did you invalidate your argument quickly.
That would be "Oh, Deer." Great outrun-style driving game with a soundtrack by the guy who made the music for streets of rage 3. It's awesome.
and was only available for purchase for exactly a month before being taken down forever because they put it on the vita's 'playstation mobile' section as a farewell letter.
Sword Art Online was another one of those english asian release games for like a year before Bamco brought it over. When they did though they just kept that script so it is full of engrish and grammatical errors. They retranslated the game when they ported it to PS4.
You want to know what's enjoyable about atelier?
The slice of life type character interactions, the exploring, the music. the crafting. Crafting shit to use in battle and trying to make the strongest bombs possible is a task in it self.
Actually, the framerate is quite good. I was put off by the beta footage myself, but the game requires an (enormous) patch that fixes the framerate and adds a lot of content. Overall, it basically is a better senran kagura. It's smoother, faster, has better combat where things like dodging actually matters, and has better level design.
Sounds great then since the beta footage really looked bad due to the framerate. Is it still comparable to SK's format where you're following straight levels and playing as different characters?
Okay, sorry. I figured you were shitposting and had no intentions of playing the game, so I didn't bother.
But it's legitimately one of my favorite RPG series of all time. I didn't like Escha & logy too much in particular, but the arland series is brilliant I think. Great balance of gameplay with time management and in-depth crafting set in a world that reacts to almost everything you do. I love how everything you do pushes the game forward for better or for worse, and the game seems fully prepared to respond to anything you do. The dungeons seem simplistic, but the interesting thing about them is every turn in battle, every item you pick up, and every time you move on the world map, time passes. So it's actually a very intricate balancing act that makes the dungeons play out differently than other games. However, there are huge 'boss' dungeons that balance everything together.
The battle system is actually pretty interesting, except it's often more about preparation than what you do in combat itself. Since the whole game is about crafting, you have to come up with interesting ways to break the game and go in with totally overpowered equipment, and then see how the game responds by crushing you.
Anyway, it's great. Appearances are deceiving.
The music is also very strong.
No. It never stopped anything.
Most exploits dont even run over save cards.
The PSP, DS, PS2, 3DS and even Vita itself all got exploited through shit like browsers, image vulnerabilities and other crap.
You can mod a PS2 through its non-standard memory format.
Hell you can access the Vitas files right now too.
Sony only did it to make the money. Nothing else. Its the same reason why they refuse to lower the price.
And now they paid the price for it.
I go physical whenever possible as you can see here:
And yet, I've almost completely filled up my 64gb. It's quite easy to load up your vita with a million games.
i got it for Ys Celceta.
Ys Celceta is far from being one of the top games, and has technical issues but its still a solid entry. Though the mechanics and direction the series has taken since Ys 7 (more focus on story, more text, party based, material grinding/crafting) is starting to wear its welcome.
Honestly the only reason i can recommend is if you missed out on the niche ps3 japanese games and want to get them here.
Or if you somehow missed out on PS1 and PSP, its a decent emulation machine in that regard. But otherwise you can just pirate PSP games on anything else and emulate PS1. So who the fuck knows.
>Sony stepped up their security.
Nah, ps4 is fucked already (kernel mode).
Sony just got butthurt with psp a lot and they step up their game/hire some hackers with psvita.
They didn't even try with ps4.
>The only thing I'm unsure about is do I really need a 64GB memory card.
I've been living off of a 4GB since I got mine almost two years ago. I have about 13 or 14 physical games with patch data downloaded and Senran Kagura Bon Appetit stuck on it. Still have 400MB left on my card. I don't have the Muramasa DLC nor the Killzone patch data, so so that's about another two GB or so(Though I heard the Muramasa stuff installs to the game cart itself), and I don't have Soul Sacrifice Delta downloaded, but 16GB should last you more than enough unless you plan on having literally 12+ digital PSP or PS1 games on top of your normal physical games.
I've only recently come to terms with it. Bought this damn thing being pretty damn sure that CFW would be along in no time. That was like 2-3 years ago? Only even have 3 physical games for it and just modded it to be a psp-lite. Can play PSP games and all those old emulators, but can't even play PS1 games unless I shell out for some shitty ps1 title just FOR ps1 games. (and i'd need a ps3 to even do that shit at this point.)
Doesn't help the only vita hackers are fucking spergs who are constantly trying to sabotage each other's work.
Shoulda just bought a Nvidia shield or some shit.
>Having a nonstandard memory format is a pretty great anti-piracy measure though
anyone that wants to can write and dump any files to and from the vita's memory card right now, it's only anti-piracy in the sense that someone wouldn't want to buy a big enough memory card to download the games they want to play
So pretty much the same as old PSP then. I'm okay with this, since I only recently stopped playing my PSP because the buttons stopped working properly.
If you even know just hiragana and katakana, there's always a destination on the map screen telling you where you what part of town you're supposed to visit next. Those parts of town are written on the map, as well. The game is from the perspective of a child, so it doesn't use any kanji.
Even if you have trouble with the story, it's a largely visual game, so it shouldn't be an issue.
can someone post the backgrounds in from this picture if they have it? would really appreciate it thanks
I bought a Vita* just so I could play TxK, I've been a longtime follower of llamasoft and was upset to hear txk wouldn't get a PC port - it's super cheap on ps store right now so I'd highly recommend giving it a go.
*PS TV, cheaper means of playing PS Vita games, requires a TV and not all games are compatible
Just bought a white Vita 1000. Would I be making a mistake going all digital? All my other handhelds are hacked, so I have no physical copies for any of them, and my autism dictates that I should keep it that way for the Vita.
I am biased 2bh, I'll always go physical and only go digital when its the only option or if the game is only sold through a forced LE. It's your call, you'll be buying some digital vita/psp and ps1 titles anyway I guess.
I recommend physical though but that's just me xD
>there is a game actually called Moe Chronicle
>had a 3ds for 2 years with 2 games I actually liked
>sell that shit a couple months ago and got a vita
>suddenly there's a whole bunch of games I want that I have to keep myself from going broke
They're close minded people trying to justify why the dont and cant like the vita in all sorts of mind boggling ways. They have a bias against it and it's not going anywhere any time soon, sucks for them though. It's fine if they dont like the vita but the average vita shitter has no idea what the platform has to offer.
It's funny because so many vita shitter threads end up in good quality vita discussion, seen it happen like 5 times now with OP trying to combat the the thread with shitposting but failing miserably. As I said before, the vita fanbase is growing and it will only continue to grow.
slim is lighter and much better battery life, internal 1gb memory card so you can have game saves
original has an OLED screen and none of the above
personally the screen debate is blown completely out of proportion
1000's OLED screen has more saturated colors
2000's LCD screen has less saturated colors
the OLED has some spots of the screen that are darker than others, called mura, but you generally won't notice unless the screen is mostly black
the LCD's lesser colors don't make as big of a difference as you'd imagine, but the OLED does look better
a lot of people that complain about mura or the worse LCD colors have only used one vita and haven't witnessed the other in person, so take some of those statements with a grain of salt unless you know they've had both (you can see pictures of both of those issues, but neither of them are very bad)
tl;dr the screen shouldn't heavily influence your purchase
the 1000 also optionally had support for 3G mobile data in the models made with a SIM slot by way of putting in your phone's SIM card; most games don't work with it, it's kinda slow and shitty, and all the 3G models have an annoying as fuck notification whenever your vita is warm enough, regardless of if you were using 3G, so don't worry about that
my own thoughts:
>2000 is thinner, lighter, and more comfortable to hold, but the 1000 isn't uncomfortably large or heavy in itself
>2000's L and R buttons are more comfortable to use than the 1000's
>2000 has somewhat better battery life than the 1000, but neither has especially poor battery life
>2000's internal storage makes little difference; if you can afford the vita and any games, you can sure as hell afford at least the smallest memory card
>tfw i bought a wiiu.
I cannot justify it, xenoblade and zelda u were the titles that were going to redeem the system and, well fuck. I use it every night to watch anime on my gamepad before I go to sleep but thats about it. I got tricked feels badman
i don't own any nintendo products but i just saw your post and really just couldn't fathom what your social life must be like. with a collection like that you clearly don't invite anyone over for sex.
Its great actually. Likely have more friends than you do. That's not my picture, but insecure people often pose those kind of questions and often have several shortcomings in life, appearance, and career.
The fact that you type like a 13 year old tells me a lot. If you suggest he should be insecure about his hobbies, you only need to question your own lack of self worth, not how much of a recluse you think he is.
>Its great actually
>Likely have more friends than you do
>you think he is
>That's not my picture
i don't even know how to respond to this post
I just started, got 3DS in May 2015, Vita in December.
recommend me some shit, idc if it's weeb or not
bonus points for rhythm games
DJMax Technika Tune already on my to-buy list
I'm glad there are people able to get large libraries like this out of a Vita.
I just wish it had more variety. Even though the PSP was a JRPG machine, it still had a number of other great games from various genres.
The same variety doesn't seem to exist on Vita.
It especially doesn't help that a lot of its big exclusives are being ported to PS4.
Real talk, how did Uncharted: Golden Abyss not get ported for the Nathan Drake Collection?
Does neo-/v/ not know what "weeb" is?
Wait for the PS4 ver.
I've got pretty much all the essentials other than Yomawari, which I'll get at some point.
Well it was up against the 3DS so it didn't really gain much traction outside Japan. But hey, at least these eastern devs will hopefully be motivated to keep developing these tittyplot games for future handhelds since we all love a good fap.
using rejuvenate wouldn't feel like a pain in the ass if there were more worthwhile homebrew to use, it's just so devoid of anything i care about that i don't even want to put forth the miniscule effort of downloading the daily rejuvenate files
no, just another useless gimmick to try and get normies to buy the Vita, just like the camera, and the back touchscreen, and the front touchscreen and all the other useless shite.
I bought it for PSN PS1 games and ports of certain gen 6/7 games.
Currently my library is...
>Persona 4 Golden
If you go in with this in mind its a good wee purchase, just don't expect a 3/DS level of exclusives.
>nipple visible through shirt
>but not through bra
The Vita wasn't deserving of this death. Thank you for Superbeat Xonic and DJ Max Technika Tune. Soul Sacrifice, Ragnarok Odyssey, and Freedom Wars were also amazing. PSO2 was really fun but never got localized, and I still reached level 41 completely blind in japanese.
It didn't deserve this death. We could have had a good portable COD, a good portable Elder Scrolls and so forth.
TxK was one of the first games I bought after buying a PSTV
It's really good once you get to about level 20, which doesn't take long at all.
Makes me wish there was a good way to emulate Tempets.
Got all my weeb games on it. Heard the new gundam is shit but I'll still give it a try.
Neo-/v/ hates anything from japan.
Which is funny cause all the normies nowadays hates japan and thinks japan is all weird and gross with all the sexy potrayal of women.
It's funny to see /v/ having the same opinions as reddit and stuff on something rather than being contrarian as usual.
>instead of using SD cards, use shitty propriety SONYD cards which cost an arm and a leg
>wondering why nobody wants to pirate on the piece of shit
I mean I have the whole fucking lineup of 3DS games on my 128GB card, which I got for the price you can get a 32GB sonySD card, which is a shame because I was super interested in some of the Vita games.
Although honestly half of those games I had interests on, are also on PS4 so I don't see the reason to even get a portable variation if a PS4 costs nearly the same amount.
>It's funny to see /v/ having the same opinions as reddit
I remember seeing a capped post of someone on reddit explaining why he visits 4chan and why it's better than reddit cause "you can actually discuss about eastern games"
The reason it's not being hacked is because it has no fun games.
Only 3DS does. Vita is a dead legacy console that thrived of multiplats and re-ports but then those games are being played in superior console or have been played to death before.
And it has only 59 exclusives. 3DS has three times more.
>I remember seeing a capped post of someone on reddit explaining why he visits 4chan and why it's better than reddit cause "you can actually discuss about eastern games"
It's funny because right now reddit is better place for discussing jap games.
Source: I sometimes visit reddit to discuss jap games without all of the shit flinging that would happen on /v/
back to reddit
I haven't got the time to play all of them, so I don't care how it compares to other consoles. It has games I wanted to play on bed a Sunday morning or before going to sleep.
Honestly I haven't had a Nintendo console since the first gameboy, and I guess that's the only reason why I don't have a 3DS, so it's not like I hold an imaginary console competition or "war" like some 13 year old faggot.
>is because it has no fun games.
But I want to play lots of VIta games.
3DS has monhun, Vita has a couple good monhun clones.
3DS has EO, Vita has a couple good dungeon crawlers.
Vita has Muramasa, Wipeout, Gravity Rush
There's plenty of Vita stuff
DS and PSP are great.
3DS is a decent buy since it got hacked, most of it's library are overpriced and never go on sale.
Might as well get a DS and PSP and hack a 3DS if you enjoy handhelds cause we're literally in the twilight age of handhelds. They're going to cease to exist in the next decade or so when everyone moves to playing tappity taps *MICROTRANSACTION* on their phone/tablets. Not to mention it's going to get harder to get a DS/PSP as time goes on.
it's true tho
but yeah, you have to be in the right subreddit to have civil discussion, of course you will get shit flinging in /r/gaming (which is literal cesspool), /r/games, /r/pcgames, /r/gamernews etc
Find a subreddit for a game you want to discuss and in most cases you will have civil discussion.
I was just saying...
I really have no clue as to the reason hackers won't want to hack Vita.
I thought that these people hack everything just for free games. And both Vita and 3DS are finally at the end of their lifespan too. Now that 3DS is hacked I was also hoping Vita would but even after the time smea made HBL available in Ironhax I haven't heard a peep.
Wipeout really makes me wish the 3DS had an anti-grav racer. Come on Nintendo, even a port of F-Zero X with the 64DD expansion and no upgraded graphics would be good enough.
>And both Vita and 3DS are finally at the end of their lifespan too
The 3DS is at the end of their lifespan, the Vita still has at least 4-5 more years of support left for it.
Japan doesn't like to move platforms when they're settled on it and if the 3DS successor is the same power as the Vita, we're just going to see more Vita games because they'd rather make games for a platform that's popular in japan with a userbase than start at 0 users again.
>It's funny because right now reddit is better place for discussing jap games.
Nope, japanese game thread regardless of the sub reach 30 replies max, the problem is the platform for discussion itself, you cant have proper honest disucssion on reddit because its a reputation based forum with all sorts of implications that prevent you from speaking freely. Even on the vita sub 50% of the fanbase is exclusively into indie games and dislike japanse games. V is far far better for japanese game discussion, reddit is just an alternative news source.
I would like to note that I live in Japan, and vita gets full shelves and displays everywhere while the 3DS is starting to be delegated to corner shelves in awkward locations. The general attitude is that it's a kids' system, whereas the vita is more for adults. Which is true, really.
I just feel that the Vita is pretty much perfect when it comes to input methods and hardware. It's as close as we're getting to realising the classic dream of the console in your pocket.
Man I wish the Vita took off more
>Actually comfortable in my giant man hands unlike the 3ds which has all my blood stop flowing to my index fingers and my hands cramp up after 2 minutes
>Real dual analogs
>Sony so it's not all Nintenbaby games
>The original OLED Vita has the greatest of all time screen of any handheld
The only shitty things about it are the touch screen/back touch pad because it's both useless gimmick shit. The back touch pad can get scratched easy and I don't want fingerprints all over the screen.
That and the too expensive for what they are proprietary memory cards. Stop it Sony
Japs are plebs. They have shit taste in games and most people prefer games marketed to their dicks.
Remember how they snubbed Aria of Sorrow but it was a smashing hit in the US?
Sadly we didn't get every game ported to EU/USA so I can understand how you feel.
The PSP could emulate the PS1 because it's a simple system.
The PS2 was an absolute clusterfuck. There's no way the Vita could emulate it well without being prohibitively expensive.
The Vita OLED screen is garbage. It's some pos Samsung panel from the Galaxy S1/S2 days. OLED screens at time used to suffer from serious issues with color accuracy and other issues. Since then Samsung improved their panels big time and current displays found in the Note 5 and similar devices solved most issues.
Only 1000fags think that pos display looks great.
>Find a subreddit for a game you want to discuss and in most cases you will have civil discussion.
I'd have better and faster responses in a thread on 420chan compared to reddit subreddits.
When it gets hacked so never.
>10 years of PS3 no games meme
>this stopped only when the gen ended
>10 years of PSP no games meme
>this stopped when the PSP gets hacked
>now /v/ openly defends the PS3 and PSP as great and having an immensely large library of great games
>now they shitpost the VIta and PS4 and use the no games meme
The cycle continues
I try to post in these threads as a show of support for the Vita, because I think all consoles have their place in the market. They're all good sports about it. I like them all for different reasons.
But for fuck's sake, this kind of shit makes me want to shake a baby. Be true to yourself, for once. Putting down one or the other is the lowest order of self servicing noise. Enjoy them for what they are in your hand, not what they look like in the store. Find strength in the software and development it attracts, not the marketing campaign.
I guess /v/ is just poorfags central that can only buy limited amounts of games.
And sometimes they can only buy the console and complain "it has no games" because they can't afford it.
But when a console gets hacked they play every single game and say "it was a good console" and defend it to death.
The PS2 is relatively difficult to emulate properly. PCSX2 may run on a toaster, but as an all-around emulator it sucks major dick in accuracy, relying on patchy as fuck solutions to make some games playable.
The touchpad can get in the way in plenty of games. If I had the option to swap them out for a second set of bumpers, I'd do so because I don't want to tap on corners of the screen when emulating PS1 games
No games usually refers to a lack or shortage of worthwhile exclusives to justify buying the hardware.
As somebody who likes the Vita I still think it's not that easy to justify getting one to the average person
>I would like to note that I live in Japan, and vita gets full shelves and displays everywhere while the 3DS is starting to be delegated to corner shelves in awkward locations.
What the fuck? What city do you live in, because I see so many people carrying around their 3DS and a simple walk down the street yields at least 50 streetpasses.
Everyone and their mother has one and you can get one for 130 dollars (N3DS LL) if you visit smaller self run or family run stores.
Yeah, I remember not long ago ppl would claim 3DS had no games / 3DS library was shit compared to DS
now everywhere I look I see threads about people buying 64/128GB cards for their hacked 3DS handhelds, discussing games they play, etc.
Even in those threads I see posts like
>Play nothing because 3DS has no games
All the time. I've never heard somebody say DS had a better library than 3DS, even piratefags thing PSP has a better library than 3DS in general.
From your own damn link.
I may have been mistaken about how much hard drive space was on it but what do you think the SW in PS2 MODE stood for? SoftWare, genius.
If it wasn't for the mere fact that Nintendo took Monster Hunter away from the playstation portable platform transition it could've potentially been a great platform.
It boggles my mind why Sony didn't lock it down. Nintendo stole Sony's lunch and ate it. Right in front of them.
Explains why I slowly gravitated toward the vita as I got older. Its hard for 3DS games to engage me these days and really grab my attention when they're essentially software made for younger children and perhaps teenagers.
Capcom would've sold monster hunter to platform that has the highest installbase who uses pre-psp hardware because it makes their job easier and nets the most profit.
It would have never have been viable for Sony to buy MH nor would've Capcom wanted their budget titles to go on the vita because it means less money and more work for them
I would rather get the original PSP 2k than the Vita. CFW and longer battery life beat 90% kusoge library. No point of getting the more expensive platform when there isn't a game better than Patapon
People might want to use the Vita as an emulator. However due to how outdated its hardware is compared to android devices, and how android has dev support of good emus already, I think people simply don't care that much about this aspect, especially the emu developers.
>When is someone going to get CFW working on this thing?
Yeah because piracy did so well for the PSP in English markets...
Yeah I can't wait for Cold Steel II
It's a nice piece of hardware.
If you don't like the games, don't buy one.
>When is someone going to get CFW working on this thing?
Why do people ask this if it has "no games"? Emulation is pointless, I'd rather use my psp or phone.
Vita has a small market for weebs and people like me who are enjoying the ps2 remasters.
Handhelds games are cheap too, so I don't mind supporting it. Region lock is a big piracy deterrent for me too as the 3ds's region lock got me to cfw it.
tl;dr you either love it or hate it, it's still getting localizations so I really don't see how it's "dead"
If I get due for a replacement though, I think I'd go for a 2000 but I'm not sure which color combination I'd go with. White + Lime looks neat but so do the newly released colors.
>oh man 3ds screenshots look like shit
>but I'm still getting one for monster hunter, fuck
>second screen when not in 3ds mode works as AA
what the fuck
I mean the resolution is still shit but how the fuck did they do that
I love my Vita, but is it getting ANY non-jap game soon?
When was the last time it got one? It was probably a port, anyway.
Not that I care; I want more waifus.
chances are those chink abominations have a better screen and are more powerful than the obsolete vita anyway
The thing doesn't sell too badly in Japan.
But even japs don't really see this thing in a good light because all it have is what they call "bishoujo" games or "cute anime 2d waifu simulators" like we put it.
Basically Vita is the fat, ugly and sexually repressed Japanese otaku play thing.
Vita has already been abandoned by $ony and nobody but a niche selection of weebs own it.
At least hacking would draw in people who want to play Roms on the go and encourage more sales.
After the piratefest that was the PSP sony had to increase the security of the platform.
It wasn't enough to get people to actually develop for it though, in a way, PSP piracy killed vita.
Not because people pirating instead of buying mind you, but because people, a lot of the time, weren't even interested in PSP games, while the psp library is "ok", a lot of people just used it to emulate old nintendo platforms
Dissidia is incredibly fucking overrated and if that data is true I'm glad it was that way.
God knows nobody would have given a single shit about the game if it didn't say "final fantasy" on the cover
