I've used mine to play Spelunky, Super Meat Boy, Persona 4, La Mulana, Rogue Legacy, Grim Fandango, and Vagrant Story wherever I want. It's not a great system for exclusives, but I still use it more than my 3DS because of all the other shit you can play, and it's easier to carry or play in public

I was pleasantly surprised by Code: Realize. Otome games are sort of a guilty pleasure of mine, I still play them while knowing how awful they are basically. But Code: Realize was surprisingly pretty good story wise. It had it's share of stupid plot points and cliches but compared to all the other shit you always see in otome games it was actually pretty decent.

I never used my Vita. I beat p4g and Muramasa and Dragons Crown. Played through some PSP games before realizing there was nothing on the horizon that looked good and the prices were plummeting. Got like $300 for it with a handful of games in 2014. No regrets and nothing appealing has came out since.

The vita has always had the superior library, the problem is 80% of it doesn't get localized, the library is there but the installbase in the west isn't big enough.

The one thing that is supporting the vita now is the fact that it hasn't been hacked and the installbase is growing. And just like the psp, it'll be supported for it's entire life cycle so it can only get better.

Now with Digimon Cyber Slueth, Odin Sphere, Exist Archive, God eater Rage Burst & Resurrection, Stranger Sword City, Dragon Quest Builders, World Of Final Fantasy, Steins;Gate 0, Ys 8, Pyscho Pass VN, MULUV, Dead Or Alive Extreme 3 and Trails OF Cold Steel 2 on the horizon it's a question of weather or not you actually enjoy games or have a bias against the vita that prevents you from doing so like

This was most likely in response to the large-scale hacking, downgrading, and CFW installing on previous psp systems (which pretty much later killed the system, as people had stopped buying games in favor of pirating them)

Actually, the framerate is quite good. I was put off by the beta footage myself, but the game requires an (enormous) patch that fixes the framerate and adds a lot of content. Overall, it basically is a better senran kagura. It's smoother, faster, has better combat where things like dodging actually matters, and has better level design.

Okay, sorry. I figured you were shitposting and had no intentions of playing the game, so I didn't bother.

But it's legitimately one of my favorite RPG series of all time. I didn't like Escha & logy too much in particular, but the arland series is brilliant I think. Great balance of gameplay with time management and in-depth crafting set in a world that reacts to almost everything you do. I love how everything you do pushes the game forward for better or for worse, and the game seems fully prepared to respond to anything you do. The dungeons seem simplistic, but the interesting thing about them is every turn in battle, every item you pick up, and every time you move on the world map, time passes. So it's actually a very intricate balancing act that makes the dungeons play out differently than other games. However, there are huge 'boss' dungeons that balance everything together.

The battle system is actually pretty interesting, except it's often more about preparation than what you do in combat itself. Since the whole game is about crafting, you have to come up with interesting ways to break the game and go in with totally overpowered equipment, and then see how the game responds by crushing you.

Anyway, it's great. Appearances are deceiving.

The music is also very strong.

i got it for Ys Celceta.

Ys Celceta is far from being one of the top games, and has technical issues but its still a solid entry. Though the mechanics and direction the series has taken since Ys 7 (more focus on story, more text, party based, material grinding/crafting) is starting to wear its welcome.

Honestly the only reason i can recommend is if you missed out on the niche ps3 japanese games and want to get them here.

Or if you somehow missed out on PS1 and PSP, its a decent emulation machine in that regard. But otherwise you can just pirate PSP games on anything else and emulate PS1. So who the fuck knows.

I've been living off of a 4GB since I got mine almost two years ago. I have about 13 or 14 physical games with patch data downloaded and Senran Kagura Bon Appetit stuck on it. Still have 400MB left on my card. I don't have the Muramasa DLC nor the Killzone patch data, so so that's about another two GB or so(Though I heard the Muramasa stuff installs to the game cart itself), and I don't have Soul Sacrifice Delta downloaded, but 16GB should last you more than enough unless you plan on having literally 12+ digital PSP or PS1 games on top of your normal physical games.

I've only recently come to terms with it. Bought this damn thing being pretty damn sure that CFW would be along in no time. That was like 2-3 years ago? If you even know just hiragana and katakana, there's always a destination on the map screen telling you where you what part of town you're supposed to visit next. Those parts of town are written on the map, as well. The game is from the perspective of a child, so it doesn't use any kanji.

Even if you have trouble with the story, it's a largely visual game, so it shouldn't be an issue.

1000's OLED screen has more saturated colors
2000's LCD screen has less saturated colors
the OLED has some spots of the screen that are darker than others, called mura, but you generally won't notice unless the screen is mostly black
the LCD's lesser colors don't make as big of a difference as you'd imagine, but the OLED does look better
a lot of people that complain about mura or the worse LCD colors have only used one vita and haven't witnessed the other in person, so take some of those statements with a grain of salt unless you know they've had both (you can see pictures of both of those issues, but neither of them are very bad)
tl;dr the screen shouldn't heavily influence your purchase
the 1000 also optionally had support for 3G mobile data in the models made with a SIM slot by way of putting in your phone's SIM card; most games don't work with it, it's kinda slow and shitty, and all the 3G models have an annoying as fuck notification whenever your vita is warm enough, regardless of if you were using 3G, so don't worry about that
my own thoughts:

I just wish it had more variety. Even though the PSP was a JRPG machine, it still had a number of other great games from various genres.

The same variety doesn't seem to exist on Vita.
