Who's excited for SFV? Who will you be maining? Who do you want to see added in the second round of dlc?
Personally, I'll be maining Chun and possibly Fang. I hope Q gets in eventually. They can redesign his moveset to make him more different from Balrog, just like they re-did Nash or Mika.
If the game is still balanced like it was in Beta 3, Nash. If Nash gets shafted, Rashid. Might switch to Guile, Alex, Juri, or Urien if they end up playing well.
Sagat, Sodom, and C. Viper
I wonder if Ibuki will get a new costume in SFV. I just hope they keep the hip-pockets.
>No Urien (yet)
>No DARRRUUUUNNN MISSSTTERRRR
And still I've pre-ordered for PS4 and PC
I literally don't like any of the cast, maybe Cammy and Rashid for rushdown.
I miss my nigga and want him back dearly in Season 2.
Maining Mika and Urien til he returns.
Let me guess - salty GG players? Or maybe MK?
>"Boring as fuck fighting game with no damn depth, casuals are gonna be hyped because of it too"
You: "I need gimmicks and artificial difficulty to help me against new players because I'm shit at real Street Fighter."
I need a game where chars have more than one combo, and the gameplay isn't as limited. I like spending time and training mode and actually putting effort into learning and seeing it pay off, doing maximized shit day one is lame as fuck.
>artificial difficulty, lol
I'll start out scumming Karin and pocket-scumming Vega. See where it goes from there.
>Who will you be maining?
>Who do you want to see added in the second round of dlc?
Necro, Eagle, or
R. Mika for now, I'll check Alex out once he's released.
I really want to see Poison and Cody. If we have the two of them however, that means it'd be kinda weird if Guy / Hugo didn't show up as well. Dudley and C. Viper round out my list.
If Guy / Hugo don't show up however, get Necro and Maki in there
>Who's excited for SFV?
Eh, i was more excited before the betas, the game doesn't really interest me anymore. Won't buy on release day so i'll wait to see how the competitive scene plays out.
>Who will you be maining?
Ken and Juri probably.
>Who do you want to see added in the second round of dlc?
Hugo, Akuma, Sean and a fresh waifu.
I've never felt such a connection to a character.
Everything about Birdie, every special, every normal, his V-Trigger, it's all just...
are Ibuki and Yuri confirmed? If so I think i'll just skip this game. Those are some of the most cancerous fanbases.
The only way you could make the line up any shittier is if you added El Fuerte in DLC.
never played fightan, but I've heard that 5 is casaulized garbage so I'll get it on the ps4
I'll probably try learn/main whoever is "lawful good" in the roster which I haven't even checked out yet
anything I should know before diving deep into the genre?
I can see Sagat and Makoto being in the second year of DLC characters. With Capcom's no-clone philosophy though, I wonder if they would redesign Sagat's gameplay significantly or not.
>With Capcom's no-clone philosophy
if they implemented that, i really wonder how long it'll last
I can believe them not making us pay for new disks, this however, i cannot
They've stated that they want to stay away from clone characters as much as possible with SFV, and concerning Sagat, they said something to the effect of how it would be difficult for them to make him stand out as a character. It might be also why we haven't seen Akuma yet.
I don't think he's a clone, but Capcom seems to.
No really, I realize he's not a clone, but Capcom's approach to SF5 seems to make them appear as if he's close enough to being one. If Sakura were to get in a DLC, I can see them changing her up too, after all she has a fireball, and uppercut, and a spin kick, even if they all work totally differently from Ryu's. I don't know if this is just Capcom being kind of crazy, and/or years of people complaining about how characters like Sagat and Sakura are shotos.
>I don't think he's a clone, but Capcom seems to.
I don't think they think that desu. I think they're just caving to casuals who hate fireballs, and think anyone with a fireball is a Ryu clone.
They didn't say he was a clone, they said he played to similarly to other characters.
you can't believe capcom is going with the most successful business model for a competitive game?
They're doing it MOBA-style because that makes money. They fucking said that they lose players with the disc releases, hence why they're stopping it. They have no reason to go back to the old model.
>I can believe them not making us pay for new disks, this however, i cannot
I'm sorry, there's so many double negatives in there I lost myself.
I know Capcom had to get Sony's help to make the game so I can imagine their financial situation isn't good. With that in mind, what exactly would their sales expectations be? What are the pre-order numbers for this game?
By that I mean how popular were the online betas they've been running?
>Also during Capcom's earnings report, the company revealed a sales target for Street Fighter V. The game is expected to sell 2 million copies by the end of Capcom's current fiscal year.
>current fiscal year ends March 31, 2016
oh fuck we might not be getting 2017 DLC because Capcom's aiming too high
Just tried IV a little bit using my 360 controller. I managed to jump back while trying to do a tatsumaki.
I take it most of my input mistakes come down to me not being used to it, but I honestly don't know how can people say you are not handicapped by using the console controllers on this.
I am, playing the hell out of ultra and teaching a few of my friends how to git gud in anticipation.
Nash, Big Dic, Chun Li and Cammy
Sakura, Fei Long, Sagat, Cody, Guy, Rose
I really hope Jinpachi is in SFV as some unlock able boss character
I think Oro could be a cool addition. I'd be interested to see what they could do with him
It just bothers me how you are doing pretty much all the work with your thumbs when you are using a controller. It's like we are primitive beings who can only use one finger all of the sudden.
That aside, I never tried a fight pad such as pic related, but I hear they offer a MUCH better experience compared to vanilla controllers. Can anyone comment on this being true or not?
I can't wait to get back to playing Birdie. Bullshit guesses, conditioning someone to block and an anti-airing overhead that hides it's animation. I played Fuerte in IV and Birdie is really appealing to me.
Fair enough. I just feel like other games aren't as execution heavy as fighting games are. You are constantly imputing elaborate motions and they have to be fast and precise. What other genre of games are you doing motions like quarter back then two quarters forward then a forward Z motion and shit like that?
So who's the boss character of SFV? I hated Seth, I'm tired of Bison (though I don't mind him as a playable character), and Gil is okay, but is the final boss of this games arcade mode just either Bison or Necalli? What super broken shit do you think they'll give them that's not in their playable forms?
that's literally what Capcom has said, though. They want a diverse roster, and in their minds, Sagat was too similar to Ryu and Ken. This suggests that if he does get added, he would be changed up to avoid those similarities.
Now, I don't think he needs that. That other dude said he doesn't think he needs that. YOU don't think he needs that.
But Capcom might think so.
Dammit /v/, an active street fighter thread just when I was about to go to sleep.
I want you to post more Mike Ross so when I get up tomorrow, I can save all of them.
Here's a rare one for starters.
Not that other anon, but Capcom has said that they consider anyone with a fireball, uppercut, and forward-momentum move a "shoto," effectively meaning that Poison and Sagat can also be considered "shoto's." Makes me worried though as a
Sakuramain because this means I might not see my main until 2-3 years from now. No way in hell is Capcom original enough to recreate her, Akuma, and Sagat to make them all play differently as Ryu and Ken do. I understand they all have different normals, but according to Capcom, it's their input moves that make them too similar.
I've been playing with a worn out Dualshock 3 with no problem, so I replaced it with a new one and started getting input errors and had to switch back. So things don't seem to be consistent even with the same types of controllers.
I just use thumbs. Like a regular controller. it's possible to be efficient and train dexterity if you just practice don't think you NEED an arcade stick. The execution for street fighter 5 isn't that hard anyway ,I play guilty gear mainly
