Bought this game, the Wild Run Edition, and it's surprisingly good so far. I read up on the improvements they did with this, and man, it shows. Anyone else that likes this game?
And more stuff coming soon, like photomode. I'm surprised at how varied the missions are. From racing in downtown Detroit to drag racing on the Salt flats of Utah
It was decent, pants on head retarded story, but great for driving around. I tried the ehe Wild Run beta and I don't think it's worth a buy.
The OST was God Tier.
Map stops loading because of shitty coding, in this one the game let me drive underwater.
Come say that to my face m8
I legitimately hope you dont, i was enjoying the game aswell untill that shit (comes with a never ending loading screen aswell), mostly happens to AMD hardware according to forums.
Aye it was fun while it lasted
Thursday, was checking if they had fixed it yet, nope.
I'll have fingers crossed for you mick.
Better than with a keyboard.
well that goes without saying.
looks like there's a demo. downloading now.
BEST world map in a car game. You play Forza for graphics and you play Crew for that fucking open world.
Seriously the crew definitely has a huge plus for having an interesting and massive map.
Did they actually add in single player races instead of stupid as fuck missions?
Did they fix the bullshit grinding you have to do on minigames?
Did they make everything not cost a ridiculous amount of cash to force you to spend money on microtransactions?
on the subject of this, there's this fucking guy i know on facebook who NEVER shuts the fuck up about how much he loves old ass volvos and saabs
he made a page for a red volvo sedan he bought just so that he could pretend flirt with it and change his relationship status
like he's got 5 cars and they're all rusted out piles of shit that came out of the worst decade for motoring
Only if you have no idea how to wrench cars.
>implying the game has even close to every car in the world
The Z is also the only reason i even bought the game 2bh.
I AM SORRY BUT THIS BOARD IS DEDICATED TO DRIVECLUB. PLEASE LEAVE ANY OTHER DRIVING GAME RELATED DISCUSSION FOR NEOGAF. THANK YOU
I APOLOGISE FOR ANY DISMAY THIS ANNOUNCEMENT MAY CAUSE
>Got bored of the game after the wild run came out
>Update barely did anything to keep me interested in the first place
>All of the new content is DLC with a hefty price tag for the amount of stuff you get
>Smart loot system is a fucking disaster
I ended up buying a PS3 for $60 and getting gran turismo 6.
Reset the car to the track if it happens. Irritating as shit though because everyone knows how to replicate it (Happens on AMD CPU's and in the midwest region) and Ivory Tower still haven't fixed it.
Patch is next week but they will probably not fix it again. Also jesus christ they need to start putting more tracks into the PvP and Faction mission rotation. Even ask the community to make some waypoint races to share and the best ones are put in as new tracks every month.
They added more faction missions which are just single player missions on top of The Summit qualifiers but They made the grinding even more retarded with Smart Loot.
The cost of a spec was drastically lowered but the cars are still retardedly priced
This shit here drives me fucking crazy. It is not at all an accurate cockpit view of any car that has ever been built, but people keep using it because muh realism
Go jump into your car right now. How much of your view is obstructed by the dash, gauges, steering wheel, or the fucking A pillar when you are not intentionally looking at those things
The answer is none. None of your view is devoted to those things until you make them the focal point. God DAMMIT
Resetting gives me an infinite loading screen m8, doing anything that puts me in a loading screen after it does infact.
When will they learn
Never played any NFL after Underground 2. Care to post an example? I think the worst I've ever seen is driving the Jaguar XK in GT5. Shit was ridiculous
the view automatically turns to look at cars next to you and oncoming corners, you'd think it's immersive or something but it just makes it harder to know if you're going straight
Fully upgraded in perf spec it tops out at around 350/370KMH, i find it keeps up with most anything.
It's weakness is cornering, rear end tends to let go if you arent careful with the throttle. (this applies to perf spec only)
It dosent really have any weaknesses in dirt spec and i would dominate with it back when i was actually playing.
The car itself is a microtransaction, cost about 5 bucks or free with the season pass, although once you join a faction the game gives you enough "credits" to buy it.
Aye she's a beauty, used to have it in blue a'la Devil Z but switched to that crimson-ish color more recently, love it.
All the best to you senpai.
Last i played it was fairly alive, you shouldent have much trouble finding lobbies.
The only good open world games are fantasy ones. Why would you play a realistic open world game when you can just kill, rape and rob hookers in that order in real life. Realistic graphics is selfdefeating.
Shit post anon
>buying a Ubisoft game
>expect it to run at all
That's your mistake. Ubisoft has been ultra jew and hasn't produced anything of value ever since the introduction of uPlay. Far Cry 3 was okay, except they had to reuse every element of AssCreed they could think of.
I've considered buying this game (I was actually really interested in it during development) but I've read reviews that just make me say oh god no. I grew up playing racing sims so I'm really picky when it comes to my racing games especially the physics.
No used car dealers, (imo) worse special stages, failed to deliver promises (car damage, premium car bullshit), fucking 3 years delay or some shit, experience points scumfuckery, no fast forward in b-spec.
Those immediately come to mind. Also, I'm still mad they stopped doing "East City", "West City" etc. In GT3 and GT4 you had countries signifying car producers and now you just have one gigantic menu. Sure, it may be convenient, but the soundtrack for GT2 was so comfy in the menus that the clunky nature is so easily forgotten.
GT6 was basically GT5, way more similar than GT5 and GT4. And what ruined the games was that you would get so much free cars right from the start. I started out in GT6 with millions in cash, where's the progression?
Earlier GTs always had those cars that you cherished, because you could use them for a broad number of events and got tons of use out of them, slowly purchasing upgrades and using them ever more often. In GT5 and GT6, you can just buy whatever car you need and tune it blindly, without ever worrying about cash or how much use you'll get out of the car. This also renders oil changing etc. obsolete.
>what ruined the games was that you would get so much free cars right from the start. I started out in GT6 with millions in cash, where's the progression?
I only started with 40K, and was forced to buy a fucking honda fit.
Yeah, its piss easy to make money if you play the seasonal and special events, but nobody is forcing you to do them.
I don't mind to no car damage, the premium car shit doesn't bother me. its just no interior.
>nobody is forcing you to do them
I think I have the anniversary edition, my garage was full of cars, some of them insanely valuable. That's the only thing I can think of.
>there are events
>well, nobody's forcing you to do them!
This is not an argument and you know it.
>premium car shit doesn't bother me
This isn't an argument either. Great, I'm glad you're having fun. It's evidently a negative point though, especially since they used new damage system etc. as a marketing tactic, then delayed the game for years and then it turned out only 10% of the cars (if it's even that many) do not have any of the features promised. And the "better graphics" point is also easily debatable, the games do not look like a PS3 should, most likely because they went way overboard with the sheer number of cars included.
And let's not talk about installation times.
I can understand being pissed about marketing gimmicks and whatnot, as well as the delays and false promises. I just didn't feel like buying a whole new console whenever i heard about GT5 and GT6. I'd rather wait until i can get both cheap. Never really kept up with the updates and how the community felt.
The game is only, $15 though at the moment. I can't really gripe about it all that much with that price tag.
>And let's not talk about installation times.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST THAT WAS THE MOST AWFUL FUCKING THING IVE EVER SEEN IN A GOD DAMNED VIDEO GAME.
FIRST YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE GAME FROM SONY'S SHIT SERVERS, WHICH TAKES HOURS.
THEN INSTALL THE FUCKING GAME, WHICH TAKES ANOTHER 4-5 HOURS.
THEN YOU HAVE TO UPDATE WHICH TAKES HALF A FUCKING DAY
THEN YOU FINALLY START THE FUCKING GAME AND HAVE TO INSTALL IT AGAIN
Yeah, I got GT6 literally for free on Play-Asia. Don't think they still have that offer, but Sony/Play-Asia were really desperate to get rid of that shit, they threw it in for every order, if you wanted it, for like two months.
I did buy GT5 at release though, I was so fucking hype. Got a refund a few days after. Picked it up again later for cheap, hoping it would've improved. It hasn't, sadly, but at the price tag I got it for (somewhere around $10-$15 too), I couldn't be bothered to return it.
And the sad thing is, those installation times are that bad no matter whether you buy digital or physical. There's no escape, anon. EMBRACE IT.
And now count the:
You will realise what the answer is. Especially if you read what people post here. Bugs and crashes/freezes, DLC scamming, microtransactions.
I understand the open world is tempting, but why would you do this when all the hints point at this being a cashgrab?
