>Generic kill X number of enemies quests all over the place
>Generic enemy clusters plaguing the bland, empty "open" world
>Generic escort quests to escort likewise generic NPC's
>Generic hack & slash button mashing Kingdoms of Amalur tier combat
>Virtually no story, you're the chosen one now go kill monsters in a nutshell
>Literally most simplistic character building system - you level up in a class and that's it Each class doesn't have more than 15 skills either
Daily reminder not to fall for hypes of /v/ neckbeard lolicons. The sole appeal of this game here is the fact you can create loli's
its a new kind of take on the genre for sure but its still very shallow and empty
but people loved skyrim so people are going to love this too, just for me personally it doesnt have anything going on that can carry my interest through the game (story, mechanics, content etc.)
What is even fucking good about it? Even Dragon Age rekts it in that department because of sole variety of skills you could attain and utilize. In Dragon's Dogma, you can reach level 30 and you'll still recycle the same old 3 skills into fucking oblivion.
Grabbing onto enemies was fun
that's what I got out of my few hours of play, I'm really not into medieval settings right now so it's not a good time for me to play it but it seems a tad overhyped
Dragon's Dogma is an artisan, locally sourced, organic, hand-crafted adventure experience.
There's a sense of adventure when you venture forth with your party and when you finally come home, it feels like a journey full of memorable events.
This is the MOST like how I always pictured Dungeons & Dragons would be.
Whatever man. I'm just happy that Capcom finally made a proper game out of the Monster Hunter mechanics. And that we finally got it on PC. So far my only complaint is magic pawns being retarded with their supports. Otherwise for a $30 game this is fucking amazing if you are into it's style of gameplay.
I wish Capcom would stop being retarded and release a Monster Hunter on PC as well.
>Dragon's Dogma is an artisan, locally sourced, organic, hand-crafted adventure experience.
>Guise, I just got pic related so get a load of my buzzwords which I utilize to shower shit with candy sparkles
>There's a sense of adventure when you venture forth with your party and when you finally come home, it feels like a journey full of memorable events.
Yeah, it's such a fulfilling adventure to traverse the same bland roads for hours and stop upon each 10 seconds to deal with the same enemy cluster you've handled another 10 seconds before, WITH NO VARIATIONS WHATSOEVER.
Your taste is surprisingly shit if you correlate this with DnD, mate. For one, primary aspect of DnD is fucking narration. Guess what - this shit doesn't even have it.
There are caves and catacombs.
And some grand canyon cliff shit with a tower.
I recall seeing beaches at some point.
You get snow at one point too.
But if you really want some drastic changes, kill the dragon.
Its not even a meme, the witcher has a way worse combat system than this.
I only played TW2 and i couldnt get myself to finish the game, because the combat system was so simple.
Yes and no, there are some variety in later areas and BBI has it's own unique locale. After a major game event there will also be a dramatic shift in landscape.
However as a whole the variance in scenery is kept pretty mild as opposed to a lot of open world games where the terrain can shift from one biome to another very abruptly.
There's a whole lot of side quests that don't involve gathering 10 wolf livers, like accompanying that spoiled brat in Gran Soren or the entire part about the witch.
What the fuck are you people smoking?
Just because you guys don't understand how to play the game, doesn't detract from the fact that they're masterworks all you can't go wrong.
Does that cover them not giving the team support magic that an enemy is weak to and instead insisting they just keep casting their magic to kill it? It is fucking annoying when going up against Phantasms.
God damn I hate pc faggots.
The game is ok, the dark arizen shit annoyed me because they give it to you right away when you can't do it until later and it gives you op gear.
The combat is good
The enemy variation is fine
Faggots complaining about having to fight to often can go watch a movie
Faggots who complain about fighting the same enemy's too often can go watch a movie at double speed. Its more like long stretches of enemy's anyway.
Faggots who are complaining about the story can go back to Her Story or some shit.
Even if I'm not min/maxing, should I bother sticking to a starter vocation for a while until I switch to something else, or will I be fine just switching asap?
Started as fighter, want to go mystic knight.
>never played the game past Gran Soren
Same goes for everyone who says there's no story
>combat is repetitive hack n slash
Confirmed playing on easy or at least not discovering the easy ways to kill things.
Half the fun of the game is that it literally lets you DISCOVER shit. Saurians in the well are really hard after the encampment EXCEPT if you stay calm and go for their tails when there's an opening. There's a smart way to play through every encounter in the game, you just have to learn them. It also lets you brute-force your way through every encounter, and i assume anyone saying the combat is repetitive is doing just that.
Just remember, this game uses ALL of it's dumb mechanics at some point
As much as i enjoyed it early on, it bores me now and it also feels more and more like a console game. Combat becomes very arcade like. Lots of reskinned enemies, lazy designs skyrim like voice issues, with people saying the same stuff over and over and also different voice actors saying identical lines.
lots of generic shit in the game.
glad i didn't pay for it, 44gb is a lot for this, be glad to have the space back.
Do I make a male or female arisen, /v/? My pawn will of course be female. There's something wrong about a man running around with are basically mentally impaired slave girls but just four gals running around (I only hire female pawns) looks like a girl band in rags. Thoughts?
Its the PC gamer thread
They literally hate non-meme games.
Its not undertale, a walking simulator or some kind of boring simulator.
We had this proven countless times. PCfags don't like normal videogames.
Dark Souls had the same reaction.
All this "artificial difficulty" bullshit.
You fags are cancer.
It's more interesting to play a female arisen. It's always a male character in RPG Role Playing Games games.
ok combat system
somewhat good dungeons and fun to crawl
ability to train and teach pawns to nearly solo bosses
armors, weapons and skills viable through the whole game
good/somewhat mythological accurate enemy design
fuck you op, play the game for more than 5 minutes you prick
>>Generic kill X number of enemies quests all over the place
>>Generic enemy clusters plaguing the bland, empty "open" world
>>Generic escort quests to escort likewise generic NPC's
>>Virtually no story, you're the chosen one now go kill monsters in a nutshell
>>Literally most simplistic character building system - you level up in a class and that's it Each class doesn't have more than 15 skills either
There, I summed up Skyrim and it had better reviews. So the problem with Dragons Dogma is literally the deeper combat.
Swap asap. MK has perfectly fine all round stats.
But, for example, if you'd want to play warrior, you might want to invest in a bit of ranger/assassin play to get a bit of stamina. Warrior doesn't need stamina, but if you ever want to play another vocation you'll need it
>this shit happens every time with a million threads every time a pc game gets a port.
>bloodborne is literally undiscussable on /v/ because of the rampant pcfag shitposting.
It is the VAST majority of pc gamers.
>still only one save allowed
I love this game, but why?
>Spend 40 minutes walking around from point A to point B
>Have to walk all the way back to the city
>Character cant run for more than 10 seconds and walk at a snail's pace
For fucks sake games from 14 years ago already had fast travel.
>tfw only playing this game for the first time now and i instantly recognized mercedes
I consider myself a "PC fag" since the last console I owned is a release 360.
However, I fucking enjoyed DD and stuff like RDR. I mustve been one of the most hyped people for this game to come to the PC.
Please don't try to generalise people based on their preferred platform. It's just shitposters in general, not specific to a platform.
Its not my pawn. She actually does what she is supposed to and fucks things up with her bow that are weak. It is the fucking support mage I bring along for healing and elemental buffs that doesn't do what it needs to when we face Phantasms. Usually I can just ignore them, but it is a fucking pain in the ass when I need to kill some for quests.
>even dragon age
Laidlaw pls. DD shits all over dragon age in combat.
DAO might win out in magic variety, but I doubt it.
Why can't she be real ;_;
>tfw you get the smith to fall in love with you by just talking to him repeatedly
>Consoleshit game receives some negative criticism, previously completely unknown to consolecucks
>Pc fags are ruining errything!1!
hahahaha, you faggots are hilarious. Literally die in a fire.
>>Virtually no story, you're the chosen one now go kill monsters in a nutshell
If you paid any attention to the story you are not THE chosen one. You are one of hundred of thousands of millions of chosen ones.
>implying every pc gamer is all about teh masterrace
I vilify pc gamers that refer to themselves as the masterrace, but don't try to play it off like console users don't console war like fucking mad.
If the VAST MAJORITY of pc gamers on this site are shitposting faggots then sony boys are 100%
Every pawn has their own Inclinations. Check the statues page to see what they are.
>start game on hard mode as a warrior
>one hit from anything even with the best armor I can get from the store and I die
Fuck this. Normal mode is too easy hard mode is too bullshit
This game's open world is pretty bland but then Post Game open and it becomes a 10/10 game. Hell if the whole game was design like the post game with interesting monster mechanics and setting it would have been a much better game.
Normal mode is not too easy you retard, its the fucking tutorial until gran soren and the first (troll) you nigger and now fuck off and play the game some more ugh, why are you even on this planet
>returning to gransys after soloing bitterblack isle
Was there any reason you couldn't use a Ferrystone?
we are talking about pc gamers.
Id say that vidya related.
If you want me to discuss the socioeconomic impact of the games industry and the cultural difference between national developers or some shit, you are in the wrong place
And you are sorely in need of relocation if you expect qualification.
I think the game is pretty darn good when it comes to the monster-battles. That's when the game shines the most
No I want you to give your actual opinion instead of being a faggot and saying every good game is bad and every bad game is good just for reply's as you all ready admitted with
>But its just duh bantz
you are fucking cancer
>whaa! Banditos push my shit in and I gotta walk everywhere! I don't like quests!
Sounds like bitching and moaning to me, real criticism isn't supposed to make you sound ass hurt that you're not good at videogames.
Not that guy, but I just snagged the ferrystone in gran soren. Can I use it to warp to the beginning city or do I need to find a warp circle there too/is it one-way to gran soren exclusive?
Kingdoms of Amalur actually had a good combat system. You had a lot of freedom to make some crazy combos, some required precise timing. The issue was there was zero reason to use advanced combos because the game was piss easy.
>Even Dragon Age rekts it in that department
I hope you are making good use of the 0.12p a post
Except normal mode is too easy faggot. the entire main game was pretty much average difficulty for a vidya title. Only issue I ever had with normal mode on console was when I first went to bitterblack but even then the mobs there didn't kill me in one fucking hit on normal.
Can't even get to gran soren yet keep getting one shot by fucking wolves and bandits while I meet quina in the witches forest.
It's a Capcom Monster Hunter mechanics game. Of course the real game doesn't start until the post game. Which is arguably a valid complaint, but at this point it shouldn't be a surprise.
>The sole appeal of this game here is the fact you can create loli's
no? I like this game because it has really nice combat
get off your high horse, suck on more cock and fuck you OP you are a faggot
IIRC there's a portcrystal outside of Cassardis that you can warp to. Just gotta activate it.
You can also find smaller portcrystals that you can set up on the map and warp to whenever.
I recommend doing an expedition for a healing spring so you can set up a portcrystal as soon as you get it.
You can warp to the circle stones where you found it and back to cassardis. You get port crystals later that you can place and it allows you to warp to them. You can also buy more ferrystones in Gran Soren at the black cat
You slowly train the secondary pawns. Your best bet is to check their statues before hiring them.
Yeah, thats like your opinion and beeing fucking subjectiv is redundant as fuck because objectivly it is still more difficult than anything and if you want a superiro product stop bitching around and buy the game some more so we get a worthy sequel with a real ng+ mode so even faggots like you stop beeing salty
cant even answer the right post fuck you are retarded not my nigger
Again; if you're having so much trouble with hard, normal isn't too easy for you.
You probably got to Gran Soren and though; "this is way too easy" and then tried hard and got your shit kicked in.
Hard is actually easier than normal. The first 20 minutes are kinda annoying, but pretty much doable and after that it's a stroll through the park.
Just annoying since more stamina cost means you have to chug curatives every 5 seconds.
Just play on normal and stop being a little bitch.
Sorry guys, lot of autism here. I must min/max or i can t sleep well. Can you suggest me some builds?
Someone make a new DD thread, I don't want to bump or post in this garbage thread.
Outside Cassardis and by the Pawn Guild in Gran Soren there are permanent Portcrystals you have to activate
Other than that there are portable Portcrystals
You can lay them wherever and teleport to them whenever as long as you have Ferrystones.
Fighter is the easiest class and warrior while being shit has an I frame window that lasts forever. This game is easy on hard no matter what you pick BBI is a different story.
>different classes have different stat gains
>you can level as different classes to get a different stat setup
>this constitute as a build
>some builds are better than others for certain goals
Stop being stupid
Level 1-10 Fighter.
Level 11-200 Assassin.
Going to need a few augments from Warrior, at least 1 if I remember, you'll need to switch vocation to Warrior after level 10 at some point, kill shit until you're ALMOST the next level, then switch back to assassin before you ding and make sure you level ONLY while you're an assassin. (Stats vary when you level based on your vocation, only right when you level up.)
You'll wind up as a glass-cannon who can solo down the Ur-Dragon if you want at level 140+. Even if you don't decide to go completely no-pawns night-only, you'll still tear fucking everything apart in almost no time at all.
Either that, or go Magick Archer, another face-rapey build.
I just did the quest in the basement of the Pawn Guild in Grand Soren, and wow. Are these kinds of difficulty spikes common in the game, or am I totally underleveled or something?
>>Generic kill X number of enemies quests all over the place
You know you don't have to go out and "do" these right? They are basically free XP. You take a quest to kill 10 harpies in X but you travel to Y instead to do a main/more interesting quest, and you just happen to kill 10 harpies along the way. Location doesn't matter, just take them all at once and rake in free shit.
I think The Witcher 3 is a bit worse due to its atrocious combat system. The combat is so bad I can't even appreciate the story, even though the story in TW3 is light years ahead of DDDA.
its a wall, there are some more so you should save often and try to work around some enemies instead of killing them but yes everything troll is a bastard and is going to kick your shit in )literally drop kick(
I take it you met your first Ogre?
It still kinda counts as a tutorial.
You can bait him off the edge, instantly killing him. You're kinda supposed to do that, but you can still kill him normally, it just takes a while.
I want to play as a sorcerer/magick archer, but I don't want to be running out of stamina all the time.
Should I be leveling as a ranger/warrior/strider for the first 30 levels or so before switching to sorcerer for stamina gain? I don't want to rely on consumables too much.
I think they're talking about combat as a whole. There's only a few abilities, but the combat feels very fluid. The controls are responsive, and overall it's just fun. In Dragon Age, especially Origins, the combat is slow and isn't engaging at all. It's mostly auto attack while you wait for the cool down timers on the few useful abilities you do have. You've got a bunch of abilities, but most of which are pretty useless.
Nobody said it was either complex or allowed for a lot of freedom.
Doesn't take away they ARE builds and they DO matter.
You can level 1-100 as a fighter, then switch to sorcerer and be completely shit, because you have the wrong build.
>plays as a woman
Nope, get used to things like that showing up right the fuck out of nowhere.
Enemies DO have levels, but their levels are hidden. So you CAN stumble into way-too-high areas if you're exploring too much, or accidentally rushing.
The shit under Pawn's Guild is one of the worse examples because of how crazy-varied people are at that point. If you were just doing the main-quest and don't realize sidequests are locked after specific points, or if you're not exploring/sidequesting in general, you can hit that bullshit at level 14. I didn't get there till 23, and that Ogre is still bullshit.
Another good example is on the way to Witchwood. Right before you enter the area, there'll be a bandit-castle in the general area to your right. If you take TWENTY STEPS off the path leading you to Witchwood and towards the castle, you'll find bandits who look the EXACT SAME as the bandits you just murdered on the road, but are 15-20+ levels higher and can kill you in 1-2 hits on Hardmode.
Welcome to Dragons Dogma, etc.
Seriously. There are only two important stats, physical and magical damage.
If you really want to minmax all you do is play assassin or sorc for 190 levels.
Which is all entirely fucking useless anyway since even someone who does nothing but magic for 200 levels then switches to a physical class will still be able to do any content just fine.
Yeah, you'll be fine. Just gotta know what you're doing.
I was just saying, since you want to make the game slightly more difficult, why not go completely solo?
But duo with your main pawn is fun too. I wouldn't make him a mage though. You don't really need a healslut.
One thing I thought was funny is I ran into a band of misandrist thieves that I could join presumably because I was female.
Pawns do mention something like a male character maybe getting in if he dresses in drag, but there's definitely some weight to whatever gender you choose.
It would be fucking stupid to level as a Warrior for Stamina, since he has the lowest stamina gain in the game (he or sorc, not sure).
Ranger has the most, so yeah, you could do a few levels of Ranger. Unless you think Ranger is boring, then just stick to Sorc/MA and fuck stamina.
I also rolled Ranger to get some stamina on my warrior, and is now my main vocation for 50 levels. Goddamnit Ranger is fun.
For Magick Archer, drop 45 levels into Fighter or Strider, honestly. Both will give you better stamina and more defense to boot, rounded your character out. You won`t be as face-melty as some other Magick Archers, but you`ll be more durable and have better stamina.
45 levels AFTER level 10 of course.
They really set it up nicely. The opening scene after you create your character is really gripping and really leaves the expectation that this is a huge epic adventure. I've not gotten very far in this game so I can't personally comment on the story myself beyond the tutorial.
Although I'm really enjoying KoAR again. I played it when it first came out and never really got that far. Did the tutorial last night and started playing again. Made it through that and talked to a few characters once I got out of the tutorial cave. Gotta say it's really got me interested. Can't wait to get off work so I can go home and play it some more. Hopefully this time I take it all the way through.
Those bandits in the pass towards witchwood, and the ones right after it are so crazy strong.
As a low level strider I could get 3-shot by the stronger ones (the fighter/warrior variant of bandits).
Just makes it all the more satisfying to kill them though, even if there's not much of a reward for doing so.
level up sorc for ten levels for magic res
level up strider for ten levels for stamina
leven fighter for 50 levels for damage
level asassins for 25 levels for well rounding out your stats
level war for hp after
Is there somewhere ingame where I can learn about different inclinations? Is there some way to change it?
I've made my warrior tank main pawn have the challenger inclination and I'm unsure what it does exactly (she behaves as I'd wanted her to I suppose but I'm not sure exactly how it all works)
Males have to dress in drag to get past/do that quest. Otherwise, gender really doesn't have much impact other than some enemies like Ogres prioritizing a specific gender first.
Hell some sidequest cutscenes show you getting a bit romantic with a woman regardless of your gender and the romances are meaningless, game don't give a fuck.
The story is surprisingly both simple and interesting, you just have to give it some time to get to where it needs to be, but it'll be worth it if you like that kind of stuff. I won't spoil shit for you, but be prepared to look at every Dragon in a video game as a giant pussy from now on
That one skill that creates a hurt zone. Runic Sigil or something.
Mystic Knight has a lot of fun skills.
You might want to level your magic though, but going a physical M.Knight isn't that bad.
I didn't know about warriors poor stamina gain.
I've played the game on PS3 before but I didn't get much enjoyment out of it at the time.
Shouldn't I be leveling as a sorcerer for a while anyway if I want to be a magick archer? Their skills all rely on your magic stat, right? I could have sworn I read something about magick archers having poor growth all across the board as well.
I appreciate the advice.
Where do I get more skills besides the ones at the inn? Leveling up?
Also did I make a mistake by making a cute Warrior character with a loli Sorceress pawn?
>friend comes over
>let him play over my pirate save since I transferred mine to the legit game
>he immediately makes a loli arisen and giant amazon pawn
At inns and camps there's a thing called a knowledge chair. Have your pawn sit in it and it will ask you how you would like it to behave using your three inclinations as your choices. They'll give you a general description of what they do.
It still tells you jack shit. You're better off googling it.
>a quote that reads "The delicious pleasures of doing pointless shit." in French is the first thing you see.
>cannot figure out the point of the game despite this and thinks it's bad
>makes threads about it, publicly declaring his own lack of basic intelligence
Anon, if you don't want to min-max, then don't even switch to another vocation for stat purposes.
You could play 10-200 MA and be completely fine. Having more magic stat doesn't hurt, but if you're not enjoying playing as a Sorcerer, then just don't do it.
That said, MA's strength comes from magic stat. You don't need physical stat (but your regular attacks will suck ass, but that's fine). If you think you need more stamina, Ranger has the best Stamina gains in the game, otherwise try Strider for more all-round stats.
All the advice on /v/ about minmaxing is shit advice because there is literally no reason to minmax in DD.
Seriously, went fighter/ass/warrior for 150 levels, switched to Sorc and still melt faces. Equipment is far more important.
Fuck no, this has the best dragon in all vidya I''ve ever seen
>the part where he
suddenly flies in and kills the evil cult leader for you and tells you to hurry up and fight him you fucking pussy
Yeah, size and weight determine a few things
If you're big you;
>can carry more
>are less prone to being knocked down or picked up
>have slower stamina regen
>attacks use more stamina (not entirely sure on this one)
I heard the mounting thing was good but I didn't quite expect this still.
Encountering a cyclops with a helmet, climbing on top of it while it's stunned by lightning and knocking the helmet off and stabbing it in the eye to drop half it's health and knock it to the ground was so fucking satisfying.
couple questions friends
do i take all quests i can get from notice boards?
is there a quick travel feature? or a horse?
I'm not going to min-max all the way because it's too much hassle, but optimizing your stuff a tiny bit doesn't hurt.
I get enjoyment out of building a good character, but fun is more important to me.
Honestly, what I'm more worried about is my pawn. If I'm switching from strider/ranger to sorcerer then my pawn's behavior would be terrible. Do you have any advice in that regard?
I haven't got a clue as of what I want my pawn to be, but I don't want him to be useless like so many pawns I've hired in the past.
There is; personal reason
I was just pointing out that leveling fighter for more DAMAGE as a warrior (which is STR related) is objectively wrong, since warrior has bigger STR gains. Maybe he meant to say Assassin, which would've been correct.
Do whatever you want, fighter is one of the most fun vocations if you like beeing in the heat of the battle instead of manuevring outside of it. But, its always good the take the most farm quests (except ghosts and undead ones (kill x undead etc)) Be just carefull to not override olde rin the process oh and (take char x to place y is only good at lvl 25 and up so dont even bother in the beginning) main quests are key
Shit, I thought I was just imagining not being able to hold as much shit as my pawns being a tiny warrior.
Yeah, it's so satisfying to climb up on the enemy to witness the same lazy and hilariously broken animations, while you perform same exact repetitive attack. So fun, amirite!?
How retarded what? How retarded are you? Pretty retarded, I'd wager, if this thread is anything to judge by.
>override old rin
what does this mean?
And i've played once before, but I'm taking it a little more serious this time through, so i meant like what vocations should I level in to get my MK to a point where they can do stupid bullshit.
If possible I wanted to level in ranger a bit with my pawn so that I can teach them mostly use arrows and a few other things
>ROLE PLAYING game
>bad story and world building
>lmao look at this hipster
Fuck off. I bet you minmax your characters in calculators and use wiki extensively before actually playing the game
You can override older quests if you take too many new, dont do that or you loose your progress and the exp in process
You cant take this serious AND play a broken class. Its either you get good with fighter and teach your pawn fighter to be as good or better than you or you do stupid shit light canon spam with the mk. Your descision I only came to tell that fighter is the most fun voc I had with in this game, nothing more nothing less
>just this moment noticed that the game comes with a 1.5gb FLAC version of the OST that isn't enabled to download by default
ohhh hell yes. That's a nice surprise.
I had the most fun with 4 different vocations.
Personally didn't like
Most fun I had was
Most people dislike being "outside of combat" and the cast times, but sorcerer actually makes you feel like a fucking overpowered mana fueled beast. The high-end spells take ages to cast, but once they are ready, you can unleash the apocalypse on monsters.
Big fucking sword or hammer, smacking multiple enemies around with skills that are slow as fuck, but oneshot (or at least severly damage) even boss-type monsters (chimera, ogre, cyclops, etc.)
Literally Legolas mode. You can shoot so many goddamned arrows, and sniping for weakspots is FUN. This vocation is shit if you don't know about weakspots and OP if you do know them.
Climbing monsters; the class. Also great if you want to solo (without pawns). Pretty much every min-maxer plays Assassin.
>Make a tall amazon warrior goddess as my arisen
>Make my pawn a frail manlet beta hoverer that looks like Anthony "Cuckold" Burch
I dont know what you mean with OP or UP but yes, you can basiclly one shot bosses with some tricky canon and other spell shit. Sorry I cant tell really more I never used those spells. MK can be fun and is a direct upgrade to fighter but on the magic side of things. You need to skill mage and sorcerer, get their augments which boost mag attack, get the wyrm ring, make a copy of it so your cast times are reduced and use magic weapons with the right element against the right boss to be more viable but IMO its not worth the hassle as the only upside are some rediculous r1 skills and the magic shield. If you are into that good for you, Im not, I cant tell more sorry, good luck
next time you want a DD thread, just say so, bud!
no need to shitpost for replies.
Feel free to go watch any number of solo videos on youtube
Nome are minmaxed. All solo him fine. Even utter retards can do it.
You just suck at the game and dont understand its mechanics, get over it.
There's an NPC that shows up in the tent at the Encampment that sells potions that can change your pawn's Inclinations if you're not satisfied with them. They work in a weird way though, so I'd go to the wiki and read up on them a bit first.
Honestly, you can level what you want. I personally tried to level everything if only for Vocation levels (and because I mained Mystic Knight and Magic Archer). If you want to do Mystic Knight at least put a couple levels into Sorcerer. You can also pop over to Strider for a few levels. I think they get a little more physical attack than magic per level but you still get more than going Fighter or Warrior.
But honestly, level what you feel like. All of the classes are fun as fuck.
Height/weight affects how easily you can be grabbed and picked up by enemies/grab and pick them up as well. Also pretty sure it influences climbing somehow but not sure how.
Encumbrance should be for move speed AFAIK.
You're kinda fucking yourself out of MK's true potential, but it's doable I guess. If you want to go just straight melee like that though, I think fighter or assassin might be more suited to you.
>going out of your way to practically do an anonymous boast of; lol so ez
>don't want to provide evidence
Who's full of himself? You could've just ignored the reply, but you wanted to show how good you are, or how shit others are, without providing anything to back it up.
There are also several videos of people doing a SL1 naked run of DaS. Does that mean it's easy? No.
Basically, UR dragon is not "easy" to solo. Minmaxing is done so you can effectively farm UR. It's not necessary to do that, so it's a personal reason.
Nothing I said was wrong, yet you felt the need to boast about something that you can't prove.
tl;dr: You're a fucking retard.
>bloodborne is literally undiscussable on /v/ because of the rampant pcfag shitposting.
Uh, the majority of the Bloodborne shitposting is done by Sonyfags. Not sure what board you've been browsing but it's not /v/.
Not even the same guy anon, just calling you out on being full of shit and having a childish attitude towards and argument, then declaring stupid shit because people won't follow your demented instructions.
All you had to do was say "I'm not about to believe you without proof" and let that be the end of it, but you went well past half-retard and gone straight up to full retard instead.
What the fuck are you doing anon?
Did you miss the whole left and right hand alternate skills?
On a controller it's holding L1 and R1 to switch to them, can't recall atm what it was on PC, think it was Ctrl and Alt
>Dive into the files
>find the proper directory for body textures
>Extract textures and begin to look at them
>Image 1 of 1057
I'm aware of the "nude mod" that makes the rags transparent (and will eventually add nipples or whatever), but I'm looking at the bodies themselves.
How does summoning work?
Do i need to be playing for someone to summon my pawn?
Can i see if she's been summoned by someone?
Is she cute?
game is infuriating me right now
walking 20 minutes from the captial back to this bandit hideout because there is no fast travel
get there, there are 20 bandits just swarming you and keep stun locking you, what the fuck dude
also i cant do the quina quest now for some reason, shes probably already dead, maybe i should just fucking reset the game
Your pawn can get summoned at any point if you're playing or not. If you load up your game or sleep at an inn and your pawn's been summoned, then a prompt will come up and you'll get a review from the summoner how they did along with rift crystals and whatever they gave you if anything.
I'm so excited to get to the Everfall again. Blog time here.
I rented the game cause why not, and ended up not really digging it because I was running around going from A to B, getting my ass slapped by bandits. Said fuck it and returned it.
Rented it again because a buddy said it gets better, end up actually trying to get into the game. Started to really love it in just about every way.
>Then the fucking everfall
You ever get one of those moments when you are playing a game and you go "This is it, they made a game for me" Cause that was it. I've not felt that way about a game since.
>these faggots that complain how bland vanilla game is
I'll give you that since the game isn't for everyone, really, it's a hit or miss.
But if you stick to it and managed yourself to enter BBI.. well, better have that anus cleansed.
When you restart, pick up all of the beginning side quest so you're not as flimsy by the time you get to that part. Also use basic tactics like only get a few to aggro you at a time and throw anyone who soaks up a bunch of damage off a ledge.
Save scum a bit if you have to I guess if you're able to knocked around pretty easily. That's up to you.
They literally haven't played the game.
I know a bunch of people who bounced off the game because it doesn't spoon feed you, and everytime I probe further to see where they got in the game, they either gave up before gran Soren or got to gran Soren and refused to git gud.
It's pretty insane how babby tier some people are.
I had the same feeling. I bought Dark Arisen off amazon a couple years back at this point because it was cheap and I heard good things and thought it was alright for the most part, but didn't really get into it until I started doing some dungeon crawling in the catacombs wrecking zombies and looting chests, only to leave and find out it's nighttime and I ran out of oil for my lantern.
All I heard were a bunch of children laughing because there were a few phantasms near by, and then out of the darkness I got jumped by a fucking chimera out of nowhere which scared the shit out of me. I was hooked at that point.
There's so many story-worthy moments I've had in this game it's unreal. Not many games give me that feeling.
tfe you notice that a lot of monsters make the same sounds as enemies in Spyro the Dragon
Which now that I think about it is a funny coincidence but they probably just had the same sound bank.
>Cares soooooo much about his only /v/riends that he thinks preventing them from having fun is doing them a favor
I recognize a lot of the music samples on some areas too. The area leading to the Grigori fight late in the game uses a lot of the same stuff you'd hear in the ambient tracks in Fallout New Vegas.
How can anyone in their right mind not know what to do. What is there to git gud about? You get to grand soren, you go where the marker tells you, you either kill things or speak to things. Sometimes you have to use your thinky-thinky parts.
Oh, I see what you mean now.
Yes it does in glorious flac
>hey this game looks kind of like Dark Souls, sure I'll play it
>fighter in the tutorial
>meh this sword combat is boring as fuck
>pick strider for myself
>climb hydra and decapitate it
>cool but the game looks pretty shit
>forget about it for 2 years
>come back, play mage
>hey having to position myself to shoot fireballs without getting fucked is pretty okay
>discover sorc and summoning giant meteor
>discover Magic Archer and being literally magical revolver ocelot
If you're not playing a magic class you're literally playing this game wrong and should go back to Skyrim
I haven't seen many lolis yet, I think I might be blessed. Though the first time a pawn showed up in the rift, it was this guy
Shitpost: the definitive edition
>only a few abilities
Have you never visited an inn? Did you never use abilities enough to upgrade them to new paths? I've only switched one vocation so far and I'm swimming in abilities, so much so that I had to sit for a minute and weigh the pros and cons of which to take.
>facing the Everfall local rapist
>motherfucker is destroying my whole party
>try standing at the cliff edge to lure him down
>he comes CHARGING RIGHT THE FUCK AT ME
>panic and jump off to my death
>find a ledge just beside the drop to save me while the ogre drops down and dies
Jesus fucking christ this game has a lot of moments
How did you deal with the ogre?
What are you even playing as? With using keyboard and mouse you might enjoy magick archer if you found it ' generic '.
Also using generic make no sense unless you give other run-of-the-mill examples, otherwise it makes no sense, the game is pretty unique in the fluidity of combat, colossus-esque climbing on enemies, and strats by choosing the right pawn or inclination to form a good party.
>Witch Hunt, go as mage because that's what you've been playing up until now. Besides, what could be more satisfying than wrecking a bunch of scrubs that are going after someone just because they can use magic by using magic?
Mistakes. They were made.
>tfw want to create a loli but gf would freak out if i did
How do I get my pawn to be more proactive about using tools like blast arrows and poison flasks? I have their inclination set as challenger/utilitarian but they never really use them that often. Should I just use the items myself and hope they learn from example?
>Playing it on my projector
>Making the perfect loli, a little muscular, cute voice, purple eyes, red hair, freckles, a little bit of chest etc
>Can hear my dad walking outside my door
>Sweating like fuck
>Can already hear the party van sirens
Thank god he didn't come in, what do I even say.
You can teach your pawns to all jump on him at once which knocks him off balance and makes him fall over, leaving him open to you smacking his shit. I don't know how to teach my pawns how to do it, but I've hired pawns that have done it before.
I know Capcom is shit when it comes to optimization, but how well can I run this?
I thought this was well known? Apart from the creature climbing and pawn system the game is terribly mediocre.
>can easily create handsome men
>can't for the love good make cute girls
>I'll grant you everything else, but the combat is easily the best of any fantasy RPG out there.
Kek to the max
>inb4 Bloodborne isnt fantasy, its horror
>well, all other Souls then
Using skills constantly will gain them experience stars. Eventually they will evolve into new, better versions of the ability.
Also leveling those abilities can unlock more for you vocation, as well as augments.
>cute warrior, loli sorc pawn
Eh, its not like everyone else isn't making lolis, just embrace it.
>How did you deal with the ogre?
Wail on them while they rape your female pawns.
Jump on him as a fatty. Multiple fatties can pin him down but it's hard to get the AI to help. Jumping on him after he leaps onto his back helps.
Poison and fire both work well to wear down his health.
His face is a weakpoint.
Not sure what board YOU'RE browsing, because most of the shitposting is pcfags. The game receives immense hate solely because its only on ps4, so pcucks shit all over it and shit up their own boards, stop pretending you don't know this.
wilful ignorance isn't an excuse.
Minmaxing pretty much doesn't exist in this game. Feel free to change between classes as and when you feel like it.
On that note, Mystic Knight doesn't feel very Mystic right now. I only just got the Magic Cannon and it's very underwhelming. Do they get any better?
You're retarded. 99% of Bloodborne shitposting is some variation of NEVER EVER or Sonyfags using their one good game to prove "superiority." PS4 is the console of dedicated shitposters everywhere.
oh I forgot that only one game can have fun combat, no two can exist at any time
>being this much of a cuckoo
Why are you dating someone so fuckin serious? Just make it and if she sees it just tell her you thought it was funny. Or you just wanted to, and laugh at her for caring.
I just don't want you to look back and regret the time you wasted stuck to some bitch who won't let you enjoy things, anon. <3
So I got two port stones. One I have placed in the northern healing spring, the other at bloodwater beach. I did escorts to both places already (selene and barnebey). Which port stone do I pick up again? I like to have one on me at all times for easy scroll of townportal use
>tfw you're so beta you make yourself the pawn instead of the main character
I know right? When Dark Souls came to PC people were complaining about such superfluous things like "unusable controls" and "no re-binding".
Go fuck yourself.
>I know right? When Dark Souls came to PC people were complaining about such superfluous things like "unusable controls" and "no re-binding".
No they werent, they were bitching about "muh grafix and framrates" and GFWL, which is just Xbox live ported to pc. Read a book.
You know, until this post I didn't really consider how all his points could be made in favour of someone loving the game, and just took it as shitposting.
The wonders of opinions, everyone.
I happen to like hacknslash action games in a high fantasy setting, with simplistic rpgish character building elements, that doesn't bog me down with a huge forced story.
fuck you I liked kingdoms of amalur
I mostly play on my PC and the Souls community has been shit since day 1, bar Demon's Souls which was just slightly crap, but smaller.
But after this I'm starting to believe it truly happens. I don't know if it's salty poorfags false flagging because they're stuck with the sub 30 FPS version, or just the average PC player here.
Fuck /v/. I'm staying away from the threads for a while until the shitposting dies down.
>No they werent,
Confirmed for not knowing what the fuck you're talking about.
That's very important, anon. It's one of the main reasons players were excited about the DD port in the first place.
It's fucking cancer and you'd know it if you've ever used it. It was retarded to use it, even MS knows it's shit, so they gave up and killed it.
Bitching about the graphics is dumb though.
I'm playing on 360 and I'm on NG++++++ at this point. Killed Daimon and all that, but garms wreck my shit when there's more than one of them. I can deal with one just fine, but two just ruin me for some reason.
>bitch gets dumped
>tells the guy who dumped her to fuck off
Ha-ha, oh my fuck.
I don't think many people were complaining about graphics in DS since even though it was released in 720p most of the textures looked good in 1080p. The main problems were all performance and options related.
This game fucking blows.
Voice acting is shit.
Constant chatter from followers.
No indication of quest difficulty level, just have to die and then reload.
Some attacks just don't do damage.
No dodge - you have to jump around like a fucking rabbit.
Literally collect five flowers as first quest.
Combat is meh.
Refunded after 2 hrs.
PC here. This is my first ever experience with DDDA and I'd say it's pushing for a spot as one of my favorite games. Love the environent, ye olde english, combat, pawn system. I don't know what the fuck these shitposters are on about. This game is like if monster hunter and oblivion had a kid and then modded it for 60fps.
>Voice acting is shit.
>Constant chatter from followers
You can turn off Pawn chatter in the options.
>No indication of quest difficulty level, just have to die and then reload.
That can be a problem, sure.
>Some attacks just don't do damage.
If you're low level and expect to be able to take out higher level enemies with ease, you're retarded.
Wrong. Dodge is a skill you can learn for dagger wielding classes.
>Literally collect five flowers as first quest.
The tutorial area has bland quests, who would have guessed.
>Combat is meh
>playing an RPG for two hours and thinking you know shit
>You can turn off Pawn chatter in the options.
>If you're low level and expect to be able to take out higher level enemies with ease, you're retarded.
Yeah obviously, but how am I supposed to know if they're higher level? I get sent down a well after collecting five flowers and the things in there rek my shit. No indication of levels. I still have to go down there, realise they're too strong and then backtrack. Wow so much fun!
Wrong. Dodge is a skill you can learn for dagger wielding classes.
So if I'm carrying a sword and shield, I cant dodge. What a fucking joke.
>playing an RPG for two hours and thinking you know shit.
>itt idiots that are rehashing reviews from 4 years ago and haven't actually played the game
>"the story is too bland!!!"
The game's story is not just "you're the chosen one go kill monsters", it holds deeper roots then that, and while the game doesn't force you pay attention (You can skip about 50% of the story development by not going to certain places at certain times) that doesn't mean it isn't there.
>"the quests are generic!!!"
You're quoting the message board quests for your arguement that all of the games quests are like this. What about the quest where you crossdress as a woman (which is hilarious when you're character or pawn is a huge bald headed male with a mustache) to gain entrance to a fort? What about the quest where you break into a fort to rescue a queen? Or the one where you can choose to buy land from a land owner to save poor farmers, or kick them off the land? This is cherry picking at it's finest, and it really needs to fucking stop.
>"the gameplay is too simplistic!!!"
Then stop playing fighter and experiment you fucking mongoloid. The mystic knight has all sorts of interesting skills that piggyback off of perfect parries, and if you can play it well you can wreck the silver/golden knights and other more difficult creatures. He also features turrets if you'd like to call them that The Magick Archer also has some very diverse and interesting spells, and I mean you can light yourself on fucking FIRE. AND THEN CLIMB ON MONSTERS.
>"character building has no depth"
Not accounting for the deep Pawn inclination system and the ability to shape how your pawn reacts to almost any situation, the game also allows you to blend skills gained from one class into the other classes, encouraging you to experiment with all of them. Then on top of this, each class has a different feel to their specific weapon, the only exception really being assassin but assassin is a close for fags anyway
You sound like the Reviewers who praised Skyrim over this.
The most fun thing about this game is fighting the bosses. There isn't much of that in the main game. It really starts to get fun once you fight Grigori and get to the post-game shit that lasts longer than the main game. Unfortunately sinced it was hyped quite a bit some autists will whine "wooooow why isn't this literally the best game ever made when im fighting goblins and dogs woooooow"
If you're carrying a sword and shield you're expected to use your shield. I'll give you the high level enemy thing, but running past them isn't a bad strategy. Your pawns tell you to do as much at times.
its just a video game
You're a fucking idiot. Shields negate all damage so a dodge isn't necessary. There's even several skills you can get that allow you to parry and dodge attack if an enemy hits your shield at the right moment, but of course you wouldn't know that because you pieced out of the game at the beginning and think you've seen it all.
>Virtually no story, you're the chosen one now go kill monsters in a nutshell
So your entire post is bait.
You had some okay criticisms, but this one is literally the opposite of the truth.
>s-stop criticizing my fav game
>the only good DD thread was last night at 1:00 A.M when the kids are asleep
what a coincidence
>game is infuriating me right now
>walking 20 minutes from the captial back to this bandit hideout because there is no fast travel
lol, coming from the guy posting shart shitizen
If I'm looking for hard-hitting yet quick movement, what class am I looking at? I like shit like that Sky Dance or whatever it's called and I need more shit like it. Shit that's almost magical but not the mystic knight because he doesn't feel very mystic.
It's a design decision to make dodging an active skill and it works quite well I think. The dodge for Rouges is useful for obvious reasons but for Fighters you have to be a bit more inventive. Obviously their shield helps defending against regular attacks but for heavier attacks you can use Blink Strike defensively by simply using its burst of speed to get out of range.
>dis story sux
I feel like people who
stop after killing Grigori and don't finish the main gamebelieve this.
Dragon's Dogma has one of the most fucking depressive stories ever. I love it.
>spent 30 minutes designing my character
>then a few minutes later suddenly have to design another character
>party member gets down
>you approach and press E to instantly bring up at half HP with no expense
Who thought this is a good game design? Even DA:Inquisition didn't allow shit like this, and you had some pretty hilarious and bullshit designs there, like running away from combat while your party members are down and they magically keep teleporting to your vicinity.
That's why I want a sequel more than fucking anything, it's clear that with bitterblack and the everfall they realized what makes the game great, and the sequel would probably be perfected and one of the best RPGs ever.
>Dragon's Dogma is an artisan, locally sourced, organic, hand-crafted adventure experience.
read: To enjoy Dragon's Dogma you must be a hipster who must like shit no one else can possibly enjoy, just to assert your individuality.
If we ever do get a real sequel, I hope they try to improve the open world rather than throwing it out altogether though. Give us more towns, more dungeons, more locations worth exploring and all that. The dungeons that are there are great, I just wish there were more of them.
Having to actually prepare before each excursion into the wilderness is great.
