Personally, in solo ranked, I don't mind having this, since playing roles that I don't play often really fucking sucks and pretty much lowers your win chances a ton.

You can always try out different strats in normals or if you have a team, in team ranked, which is actually where the fun comes from if you want to play competitively.

Meta was inforced in every other aspect of the game already, for YEARS now.

Meta has always been forced in LoL through how many roles each character is good at, to items, to changes to the map (towers being stronger or weaker, to discourage even lane swapping a few seasons back, and more shit like that), to the reporting system and self-policing in the community where you'll get banned for playing Shaco ADC in ranked 20 times in a row (something you can still do with this system, btw)

No one deviated from the META already for various reasons. This changes nothing. No one's stopping you from getting the Jungle role, chosing a support champion instead and going to mid lane to "assist" your carry. You can do this now as you could 2 years prior. You'll get reported now just as you would back then.

You don't play League. I do it more to chat with friends over skype, this just eliminates outside frustrations with the one or two randoms we have in our party.

As far as the change goes i already posted what I think about that. It stifles that creative aspect that is one of the only things league still has going for it. After a point it doesnt matter which mid you pick, all the ap mids play the same way. It gets old. One of leagues biggest strengths and weaknesses is that it doesnt punish players for mistakes. In dota if you pick against the meta and go mid with wisp it doesnt matter if you are 8k a peruvian could show up to lane with a burst damage hero and make you go through 55 minutes of hell. In league not so much. But you are 4x as likely to get flamed in league for it and reported. Win OR lose.

The gist of it, is that this system makes it -even harder- to enjoy the game.

this overreliance on flash is stupid. remove summoner skills, change them or make them baseline, throughout all the seasons flash was the most used, its fucking broken compared to others. it was so good other summoner skills were killed off because of it.

In CS:GO, a weak player can still be covered so long as everyone else does their jobs and makes sure to kill the other team or plant the bomb.

In LoL, you could be doing extremely well as an individual player yet still lose because one or two retards are either off in a corner AFK, feeding intentionally because he decided his team was going to lose anyways, or just troll to make people angry so he can report them for harassment.

Don't get me wrong, incompetence will fuck over any team in an online match but at least in most other games, the match isn't decided by whether or not you get paired with retards who will make you lose game just because they can and there's nothing you can do about it.

Good thing they still gave the option to fill.
