such a good port, the thread crashes more often than the game
I want to make a magic archer. What do I need to be a top tier one?
Please rate Arisen and Pawnfu.
I'm having great fun so far and the basic archer is great fun. I don't want to start specializing or changinc alsses until I've seen all the skill sthough. Helm splitter is a beast.
>Go in the well for the second time
>Giant lizard boss out of nowhere
>Cut his tail in seconds while my sorcerer in the back petrifies him and makes him explode in ice explosions
Better than nothing. From my limited experience, the lantern works better when you are in closed locales since the light actually reflects on the walls.
But admit it, walking in deep woods at night, with only your faint light with you is glorious.
Did dark arisen add this eternal (infinite use) ferrystone or was it a DLC thing or something? either way seems kinda OP. I guess it's only 1 way fast travel but still weird coming from basegame where they were super rare,
>But admit it, walking in deep woods at night, with only your faint light with you is glorious.
No, it's shit. I can't see anything, I'm being attacked by wolf packs I can barely see almost constantly, trying to even follow a path is trouble, and God help you if you want to find any sort of plants.
>oh c'mon, its like 5 feet atleast.
It really isn't. You could outstretch your hand that's how far away it illuminates. I'll try upping the brightness but it recommended you barely being able to see the second dragon and that's what I did.
It's literally a brand new lantern.
get to level ten, have at least 1500 discipline points and talk to the guy at the inn in grand soren, or olra at bitterblack isle. you should probably just play the goddamn game.
Took this a little earlier to show my pawn to my friends. The photo sucks, tho, I wish there was a free camera option.
I buy it when I can make a good looking character, holy fuck these are awful.
Anyone else prefer going solo? Makes things a lot more frightening on bitterblack isle
Rate me and my pawns niggggeeeers
I can finally play as the little girl
How does augments work?
I levelled as a mage first because I want to be a Mystic Knight tank, so I got the "Less magical damage taken"-augment, but when I try to set augments it doesn't appear in the list? Is it active at all times or what?
Also, skillwise do skills that share weapon types transfer over? How about core skills?
Mostly fine, some players have camera stutter or frame hitching issues that need to be ironed out, who knows how long it'd take though.
Lots of players running it flawlessly anyways
Also, skillwise do skills that share weapon types transfer over? How about core skills
Weapon skills will transfer only if the new class is capable of learning that skill anyway. Core skills are exclusive to their class
How good does your computer have to be to run this? I have this on ps3 already but I'd like to play it on a better framerate and resolution. I just don't have a great pc, but it is more powerful than my ps3.
the one at the inn is for escort quests, the one in the tavern is for item collection, the one at the pawn guild is for special quests, and the one in the basement is for the treasure hunt quests
also the boards at the encampment and cassadaris have kill X of Y quests.
I'll get out of character creation one day.
On a related note, i wish there were more war paint options.
People are getting problems
I put in 23 hours into the leak copy and 9 hours into the release copy and I have yet to run across a major bug. The only problem I had was passing under some broken bridge near Gran Soren and my framerate would drop to 58 fps at 1080p (I have a 980 and a 4790k)
>yfw Dragon's Dogma 2 Darker Arisener is PC exclusive
your gigganigga looks like shit.
>yfw that first encounter with a chimera at nighttime
So question to the vets: when I hire a pawn and I give him/her/it gear from my pack, does the pawn keep it if I forget to remove it?
Or does it automatically pop back in my bag when the pawn leaves?
I feel like a cuck, gearing up some other man's pawn.
I have two questions for you lovely people
- Is a party other than the normal MMO trifecta viable? (1 of each vocation)
- Does the game get significantly better once you start learning moves as a strider? At the moment is just a stab or two then run about attriting people, and its not that amazing.
>play DD for dozens of hours
>platinum, know Bitterbutt inside out, collected everything there is
>burned out on the game
>PC release comes
Stats are mostly irrelevant, yes, but Augments are not.
You'll want a good number of Augments from Warrior (mostly Clout at rank 9) and Sorcerer (for casting speeds and debilitation damage ((the latter might be a Mage Augment.))) You'll also want Sinew, which is a rank 5 Fighter Augment, so that you can kiss worrying about carry weight goodbye.
There are ways of cheesing vocation ranks later in the game, so don't worry about it too much if you just want to play MA and enjoy yourself.
Sometimes it's easier for me to see with my lantern turned off.
>Ransack homes early on for supplies
>For a while I did it by picking up and throwing unopenable containers to smash them to get items out
>This is not a learnable behavior, apparently
>I figure out hitting them is much faster
>Pawn pick up on this and start smashing every container it sees
>Walking through town is a constant music of SMASH WHAM CRASH and occasional items and money being picked up.
God dammit. Control your fucking selves for two seconds. That's fine when we're adventuring, but don't terrorize the market place every time I stop by.
Also I hope people enjoy their pawns picking up a penchant for throwing skulls. Cause my pawn loves that and now I make a point to gift a skull to every guest pawn I dismiss.
Got a few stupid questions. First, how can you increase carrying capacity (and what is the effect of the varying stages of encumbrance)? How does the fast travel work, exactly, I have the stone that lets you go from city to city (only have unlocked 2 so far) with no hindrance, but what do I do with this portcrystal?
Also, is it wise simply to get the advance classes as soon as they're available, or is there some benefit to increasing the initial class' levels to max?
Finally, am I doing something wrong or are there some encounters built to be hard walls to return to later? There was a bandit that's health bar did not decrease despite pounding him, I only managed to defeat him by stunlocking him and then finding a cliff to throw him off of.
>dick around for an hour doing side quests
>kill the hydra
>go to leave the encampment
>Dragon's Dogma.exe has stopped working
>hadn't saved a single time
>"Is this your home, arisen?"
Get clothing from Madeleine and Bitterblack Isle. Also, if you get the double jump/hover skills, you can do Parkour around the rooftops of Gran Soren and find hidden chests with free clothes.
Even girls in your fantasies are ugly, anon.
>wasting a character slot on a useless pawn
>complains about damage in hardmode then boasts about not getting hit
Oh fuck off. Mages are useless outside of Escort Missions, because the damn game won't let you heal NPCs otherwise.
>tfw you almost didn't play warrior because /v/ told you not to
I'm honestly really glad it's getting this much of a good response.
I played the shit out of this game and I'm going to gladly buy it again.
>100% game about 8 months ago
>buy it anyways because muh fps
>game still feels boring because done everything already and still in back of mind
I-I hope you guys have fun.
I never complained about it
I was implying non-hard mode damage is insignificant
mages can have up to 6 spells you know!
Stop picking up shit ones just because they're lolis
Warriors are fun. Only problem is that they're the balanced class in a game full of overpowered classes. They can be pretty boring compared to all the cool shit the other classes can do, and the other classes just demolish shit faster.
Is there any reason to play the game in a manner in which you get no deaths?
I started on hard mode since console didn't have it when I first played it and it's kinda triggering my autism seeing any number other than 0.
Is it worth it at all to quit to the main menu every time and reload your save when you die to avoid getting any "deaths"? Or would that make me an absolute madman?
Shit one shots me sometimes so not dying at all is a bit ridiculous.
Thats what you get when you port something half-decently.
The ONLY thing I think it wrong with this game at the start is really weird keybinds. Other than that, its been smooth and shit to play on PC.
>posts terrible fucking builds thinking he knows anything about the game
>gets called a retard for it
Yeah na, played on PS3 and playing on PC now, you're retarded.
I want to be an Archer. Should my main pawn be a healer or warrior?
>tfw I found a pretty cute elf mage with all the spells I wanted to start my journey
This was made so long ago i think it still holds up.
Please respond. Has anyone done this autistic shit before? Is it worth it?
How many of you play in a certain way as to not have any deaths on your history?
How many of you don't care and just hit retry every time you die?
>i think it still holds up.
How do you make your pawns heal each other? It's annoying as fuck when they stand there with half or 1/4 HP to go into next battle, help didn't do it for me either.
Do I have to use consumables on them?
Why are assassin's augments so shit?
Almost everything is "at night". I'm actually using pretty much the ones from warrior right now.
Will add the climbing related strider ones when I level that up.
Reminder to throw all pawns off a cliff if their service is worse than satisfactory.
Acquire, craft, sell, repeat.
5000 rift crystals, sold by that encampment merchant
have fun faggo
>Made a little girl
that kinda resembles Aria Stark
>Made little boy to be my pawn
>Picked up 2 more child looking pawns
I don't even care for lolis or shota. I just like twisting this gritty rpg into one where it's a pack of kids out to save the world.
I decided to try it on my laptop since I'm away from home for a couple of days.
Running it on an Intel 4000 was less painful than I imagined, sure I'm getting that true authentic console experience in terms of graphics and performance, but at least I got it to run.
Also, quests give dosh and some of the rewards can go for a lot of money.
Don't worry, though. At no point will you ever have enough money for everything. Just prioritize.
Whoring my pawn out. Name is Aerith, master is Antodara, Steam ID is Ivan Chesnokov. Level 32 Ranger, looks like Katniss. Has Endecad Shot, Tenfold Flurry and the charge arrow, which she times properly.
Has some random dagger abilities but who gives a fuck she's a ranger. Maxed out starter Longbow.
p-pls don't slut her up, she's pure.
What's the deal with hard mode? I've seen people say that it's actually easier than normal since you get double XP & gold meaning you'll eventually be too strong for everything.
Is it better to start on normal?
Anyone have some good tips of scrapping together enough riftbux to get a damn Art of Metamorphosis at low level?
Thinking of making my pawn a Mage but she ain't really looking the party seeing as I based her around a Ranger.
medicant can be good in anything but the first slot.
everything else is usually pretty shit, tho
I had a quest that had a marker somewhere around here or where the hand was but it vanished after I did another part. Anyone know where that was? About to end up wandering all in the wrong direction I imagine.
What's the best way to get rid of stuff?
I'm currently heavy but there doesn't seem to be a "junk" section like in most RPGs. it all seems relevant to have.
I know I can give stuff to my pawn but she's close to being overcumbered as well.
>What's the best way to get rid of stuff?
what i've done:
-store everything, at least 5-10 copies of, lots of random materials needed for quests/enhancements
-sell extras once you reach post-game, can hire enough pawns with Suasion
you never know what'll come in handy in this game, it actually pays to be a packrat.
>20 GB download
>sub-par 5Mbps download
>Has to be shared with Aunt and cousin who are up at wee-hours of the night always, so can't just leave it downloading overnight.
Moving here has literally killed Steam for me.
My arisen and pawn. Pawn is to the right.
I used to play on the 360 back in the day.
I can't wait to get some more money so I can actually get some decent looking gear.
at least this guy knew he was being fucked with
>6 hours int to the game
Also no, since you seems like a rather new player, you'll get your shit wrecked on BBI at lvl 15.
I need ranger pictures in high level armors, guys. I need to know if they can compete with MK armor.
Look at that amazing armor, look at it.
That's better, but I still can't download anything, as these guys won't
and financially can'tupgrade their service, as they're still grandfathered on an old "unlimited" connection.
>I need ranger pictures in high level armors
Have a few of the best leather armor in the game though with shit resolution since it's the ps3 version.
having all the monitors/lights off in my room allows me to see during the night a bit better, but i feel like this also depends on the area/time of night in game.
sometimes it's better having the lantern on, sometimes it's better to just try to adjust to the darkness
>shitty port of 3 yeard old enhanced version of 4 years old game
Gonna go for an Onion Knight build if I get the right armor going on, right now I'm limited to rags so going gladiator mode.
My primary pawn isn't doing anything in battles. He's got offensive spells as primary.
Here's my Slut and my muscle mountain!
He learns by experience. At first he won't know what to strike an enemy with and sparserly and randomly use his spells. With time, he gets better. Not fucking up with the inclinations also help.
How the h*ck do I fix the shit on the left? It annoys my autism.
Post your errors then, faggot. I've been playing the leak since it was leaked, and been playing all day. My only issues was transferring the leaked save to the legit version.
Get a better pc senpai :^)
I've had it completely lock up a couple of times, and had to restart my computer.
It's got me making a back up every time I save so the game doesn't autosave and immediately crash corrupting my save, which has happened to me.
Anyone else have this weird issue where the framerate suddenly slows down to a crawl, and then whenever they press any key there's a loud beeping sound? The only settings I've changed are setting everything to High, I didn't have any problems until I got near Gran Soren, and then again in the Everfall.
This game is GOTY
(2016)right here. What other game let's you wear a silly party hat while you throw snakes into enemies?
you only wanna stick with certain vocations to level up with their stat bonuses.
magic knights need magic, so get some levels as fighter/warrior, then get some levels as mage/sorcerer
I'm gonna use sword and shield still, it just looked like the moves changed when I switched over to magic. So It's not a bad idea to learn some more skills if I'm gonna be using sword?
I played it until 30 lvl. Map, bosses, skills, pawn ai, all that is shit. It's like they removed most fun things so they could put typical korean f2p mmo things in their place
It's not the skills you must be after when you are aiming for another class, but the Augments. Augments always carry over to whatever class you pick. Some skills are locked to specific classes, so even if you learn, when you switch, it won't appear in the list.
Yes. Especially escort quests. Those can disappear with time. Characters dying also lock you from others. Meeting with the duke also can make you fail or dismiss some quests.
Don't worry though, you can do it in NG+ and it counts for the trophy.
>be jew in videogames
>always have to loot EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME
>even during fights
>suddenly my pawn doesn't do shit in fights anymore
>check him out, he now has acquisitor inclination
fuck, that'll teach me I guess
Why is Ranger so broken in this game? I played it with my first Arisen and thought the damage was pretty good, and the other classes are probably equal, but jesus, Ranger DPS is too fucking high.
So from what I remember playing on the console, assassin max -> warrior is better as the scaling on levels for assassin is overall better.
I played assassin/sorc last time I played so I was thinking of trying war/ass. Can warrior actually handle the DA content?
Can't decide if I should let her wear the mask or not
So the PC version still has atleast the one loli right?
I thought I heard something about that being cut. I'm going to be fucking pissed and not buy it if they did. In fact I'm not buying it until I see proof the lolis have the exact same degree of loliness as consoles had
I won't recall by name and i don't put much min maxing though into the process as well. But as far as i remember, there's a warrior Augs that helps you don't get stunned often by attacks. That helpfully comes into play when you're casting some spell, so it's a very good aug for sorcerers as well. And sorcerer have augs that boost magical damage, usefull to magic wielding knight.
You get all the same quests, so if aiming for trophy just focus on doing the ones you missed. Yes, there's you can finish and repeat the game as many times as you want.
Make a copy
You can't affect their pawn negatively. For example, if you unequip his armor, it is sent to maker and you can't equip it again by yourself, but if you equip something on him, it's like you gifted him that item, so you can't get that back too
so my autism is strong and i kinda want to min max so i did some googling and i found this build
It seems pretty solid for both the mk and magic archer which are both the final classes that i would like to dabble with. Thoughts?
>lvl 20 loli mage
>attacks do nothing
>only buffs are effective
>pawns are incompetent
>ranged bandits always fuck my shit up
>can do nothing but watch my pawns get sent off cliffs by a cyclops
Should I just give up and start a new save? I love melee combat and I don't want to play as a midget anymore.
So has anyone found out what music file is "Imminent victory" ? I want to replace it, but it's the one .sngw I can't find...
I have had success replacing the main theme with all kinds of shit tho.
dude im stuck
under the pawns guild, there is this blue temple thing and when you grab that pylon these respawning snake things come out the ground and you cant kill them and have to move on right?
to the left is a closed gate and to the right is that treasure room you can open with the lever , now what where do i go?
Sure, just shove this:
in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DDDA\nativePC\sound\stream\bgm\wave2
>Game feels off playing with KB/M
>Want to play Assassin with mouse control bow
I just can't get used to Crtl and Alt being modifiers.
>Game is called Dragon's Dogma
>a Dragon is featured 10 seconds into the game
>computer shit itself
>lack funds and know how to fix it
>stuck playing PS3 version because I need my DD fix
Enjoy your silky smooth framerate anons.
First time player here, and I'm sort of confused.
I got to gran soren with the hydra head, and visited the pawn's guild (and will later go down in it), then I evicted someone for fournival (who now wants to see 30k from me which I don't have on me), went after a tome, and in gran soren spied on the blonde guy getting something from the big titty jew lady. What's the next step? I'm sort of confused as to where to go to right now
>manage to make a hueg amazon with max muscle that also looks qt
>get in game
>she has a manjaw that she didn't have in the character creator
First time playing, playing on Hard Mode cause that's just how I fucking roll. Decided I wanna be magick archer cause it looks coolest, I'm told minmaxing doesn't really matter but I wanna be optimal nontheless. If level straight Mage to Sorcerer, at what point should I change to archer? And at what point do I stop getting one shotted?
reminds me, does this game run well being downsampled from 4k? or can i force AA in the nvidia panel?
Also anyone happen to know if that SLI AA is actually worth it or does it just limit power because then each GPU can do only one thing
Dunno. The music's all stored in DDA/nativePC/sound as .ogg files, but they're renamed to .sngw. Just run it in VLC or MPC or something and you'll be able to listen to see which song is which.
If it's anything like DMC4's music, they'll be encoded as 24khz .ogg files that are renamed to .sngw.
I shall explore the full waifu capabilities of this game
I'm three hours in and so far this game is really boring. Does it get better? The combat seems dull and repetitive, the RPG elements seem really shallow and outside of the gimmick of being able to make your own party member, there doesn't seem to be much customization either. At what point does this start becoming fun?
Go to the pawn's guild in Gran Soren, go down the stairs to the second notice board and pick up all the ones to gather the badges or whatever
Do those for easy 1.6k riftbux per completion
Once you finish the 6 you get you can pick up another 6 again from the same board for more
>escort Mercedes all the way to that fucking fort
>literally standing at the door just have to wait for her slow ass to catch up
>get ambushed by a bunch of thieves at nigh
>one of them is OP as fuck
This happens all the time? I died a couple of times because of this.
Should I switch to ranger right away as soon as I get the chance?
>tend to make thick tall waifus in every game
>hate pedo shit but make a /v/ loli with a preset since my waifus keep coming out like shit
>start getting boners from the loli
>think I might be becoming a pedo
>delete the save
How the fuck do you get past the chimera right after the bandits
I finally got past those Fighter bandit fucks that one shots everyone in my group including Mercedes and then she fucking walks into a pack of saurians and a chimera
I was going for a sort of Jolyne Cujoh look; that kind of irreverent permascowl, rather than pure waifubait.
How'd i do, /v/?
How do I fast travel.
I want to fucking die.
Traveling the entire length of the starting path from soren or whatever back to cass is a nightmare.
I have some ferry stone, and I found a waypoint, thingymcjigger, but've no clue how to use the damn thing.
These 3 stupid bitches jumped down there and that's not even the way I'm going.
Uh, did you try the "use" button and then click on a place?
Go to your storage in Gran Soren
Navigate to tools
Withdraw the Eternal Ferrystone
Travel between gran soren and cassardis at any time.
To use a port crystal, simply hover over it in your items, and use it. You'll drop it at your feet and any time you got to Ferrystone, you can choose the Portcrystal as a location.
You grabbed the eternal ferrystone from your bank once you got to gran soren, right?
There's a permanent portcrystal in both cassardis and gran soren now, so you never have to spend time traveling between them if you don't want to
Plus you'll find 5 portcrystals you can put down almost anywhere throughout the game, and you can have up to 10 down at once
If you want to minmax the only stats that matter are damage, so just play half the game as assassin and the other half as sorcerer
But thats utterly fucking retarded because there is literally no reason to minmax. You wont do anything faster or be any better just because you have some minor stat increase, 90% of your effectiveness comes from items and the other 10% from augments.
