I feel like 2 and 3 are the best Spyro games, 1 is also very fun.
4 was my first game though looking back it isn't that good, cool music though. 5 is alright.
Played all the LoS games but only finished the first one, they're cool but completely different though so I feel like they hardly count.
Never touched skylanders. Looks kind of fun but they messed up the look of Spyro, he can't even talk anymore. He's become a cash cow desu
Oh, previous poster here, completely forgot about the gameboy ones.
Never really played those ones, but I played shadow legacy and got bored of it or something, can't actually remember why I stopped playing it.
Already did it, it's fucking amazing. For simplicity though, I only used the console versions of the games. But if I did, it would be up there.
>The Skylanders games are pretty fun
No shit. I see why they made over 2 Billion off of it. Its a gimmick that get's kids easily. But if you don't need Spyro to beat the game 100%, it's not a Spyro Game.
Spyro's skylander design was due to laziness of the game developers. They just re-textured another character they had.
>Game was originally " Spyro's Kingdom"
>Spyro was going to be depicted as a wise old ruler giving out quests.
>Followed events of DOtD
>Spyro and Cynder Became King/Queen
>Ruled Their Own Kingdom
I actually have an old beta build of the game.
Oh sorry, my bad then. I've never played those games, I've only seen the trailers, and some gameplay. Tbh the games do look fun, I just don't like the whole "buy these figures, play more levels" idea.
There is no Spyro or Cynder models in the game, but here's a screenshot from my build of the beta.
Found Some Concept Art for Spyro, looks relatively the same from DOTD
He could've looked like Pazuzu
Different anon here but I must say, I had a lot of fun with the glitches in enter the dragonfly when I was little. I found one where I could charge dive in some shallow pool, and I glitched through and swam through the skybox. It was pretty surreal back then.
That's some tight ass shit.
Aint got nothin on actual Autumn Plains though.
On my 10th birthday I got a ps1 and spyro 2. I played the hell out of that game, I think it was really the only game I ever played on it along with trapgunner.
I loved it so much it was the first game I ever %100-ed (I'm not totally sure dragon shores was worth the ptsd I got from getting all those fucking orbs, some of them were insane tier difficulty curb for a 10 year old)
Then when I was I think 14 my parents got me a ps2 with ratchet and clank (loved it), jak and Daxter (watching the commercials everyday was the whole reason I wanted a ps2 and not a GameCube like all my friends- also loved that game too) and then enter the dragonfly...
What a goddamn soul crusher. I felt bad, my mom was super stoked to get it for me because I loved the older spyros so much so I forced myself to choke down that load of shit just to show I appreciated the thought.
What a load of horse shit that was, which was sad because it had potential. I like the music for the most part and some of the levels were kinda fun. But those load times were in fucking real, It would be around ten minutes for one fucking level.
I swallowed enough shit to make it to the final boss and fight ripto again for nostalgia sake.
What a fucking mistake that was. I couldn't beat it for the longest time due to disinterest and the battle being a slog fest of garbage. The worst part was once you try to fight ripto, you're stuck in the battle because of auto save and no matter what you can't leave until you beat him.
Fuck that was a let down.
I can't be the only one who knows about this, right?
brother, i got my ps1 and the first spyro at 10 too. least ratchet and clank games are still fun (probably my most anticipated release of this entire gen is the new one). I hate that they killed spyro, crash, and jak&daxter. It stings.
