Is this the greatest achievement in gaming history?
>>
>Terry ran an emulated version of the game for easier, anytime saves – pretty essential with so much trial-and-error play ahead of him.
>greatest gaming achievement

fucking save scummer
>>
>>324082439
>using an emulator

edgy enough to be on vice.

Time could have been better spent trying to find a cure for cancer instead.
>>
>>324082794
>cancer
>not blindness.
>>
>>324082794
Don't make remarks about using your time better. You are on 4chan right now, the ultimate waste of time.
>>
>>324082439
I shouldn't have to say this, but there's absolutely no way he accomplished this without a lot of assistance.
>>
>>324082794
He's blind, his time is worthless.
>>
Been done before
>>
>>324082439
It's fake. The article claims he needs the Hookshot to navigate, but that comes up at the middle of the game. There is also text to read, so he could do it on his own.
>>
I was kinda put off by the fact that he used save states, but it was pretty cool to see him know where a cutscene would leave him facing for him to know where to go

I think its a great achievement for him. Wonder if he'll ever plan to do it without savestates one day.

I read an article about him, apparently he wants to be an astronaut
>>
Now make him do DaS next
>>
>>324082439

>5 years of hitting walls with your sword to figure out where the fuck you are in a game where the narrative is like 5% of it

I guess that's impressive? Hell beating your head into a rock for 5 years could be considered impressive. Wouldn't call it productive.

Not trying to be too much of an ass there though. There are people that have wasted 10+ years of their life on MMOs and other such games so whatever.

Look at where you are right now.
>>
>>324082439
Him playing Zelda like that was already reported a few years ago.
Why is this suddenly reemerging like some breaking news?
>>
>>324083398
Cuz Vice decided to shit out some feels-good story for views
>>
>>324083104
> it's fake
He has an entire play through on his YT channel
>>
>>324083398
He just finished it
>>
>>324082439
>>
>>324083489
Let's see it. It's not as impressive if he had lots of help.
>>
>>324083489
Nice try Terry. Did you have someone help you post on /v/ too?
>>
>>324082439

I thought this was meant to be impressive.

He used save states, but cmon, still impressive. Atleast it's because he cant fucking see and not like a little infamous faggot

There was a time when he could see you know? He actually beat this game before he went blind once.
>>
runnerguy did it blindfolded without save states and in much less time

baka
>>
>>324084918
anon, I said he'll never get to see these games again. I know he wasn't born blind, he talks about seeing his bro/friend playing this game in one of the vids at sometime and that he fell in love
>>
the world's longest blind run
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6CMQH_S038

What he says at 1:58 is gold, haha
>>
>>324084918
I don't even know what's worse, being born blind or becoming blind
Probably the latter
>>
>>324082439
>
now do majora's mask.
>>
>>324082439
he should do dark souls. a slow action adventure game like that, with lots of audio cues would be perfect.
>>
>>324085465
oh shit, with the time limiting mechanic, I'm not sure if he could pull it off
>>
>>324085326
is it better to have loved and lost or to have never loved at all?
>>
>>324085326
Becoming blind easily.
Even ignoring the fact that you would actually know what you were missing and have to deal with the fact that all your memories would slowly fade until you can't even remember what your mother looked like, people born blind would go through special school and all that shit to learn how to deal with it and read brail and crap.
Trying to learn all that stuff at 25+ years old would be very difficult.
>>
>>324082439
What the fuck? No, It only took me like a week when i was a kid.
>>
>>324082439
WOW HE'S LIKE A MODERN DAY HELEN KELLER
>>
>>324082439
It's funny making fun of him at all, but seriously major kudos to this dude. Being blind must fucking suck, but at least you can still find things that you enjoy doing, fuck what other people say.
>>
>lol he beat it and he`s blind WHAT A BAD! LOL
>>
At the risk of sounding like a tumblr, I wonder if there would be ways of making games more accessible to the blind and other people with disabilities. Modern games are already so easy, why not take the extra step and make them easy enough for people with legitimate disibilities rather than just being casual scum to beat.
>>
>>324086805

>people with legitimate disibilities
that's why we have based atlus
>>
>>324086805
>risk of sounding like tumblr
>when talking about blind people

If this isn't proof of the political correctness in 4chan, then tumblards are not politically correct too.
>>
>>324082439
That's pretty impressive. I can't imagine how frustrating certain parts must have been though. There are just certain aspects of puzzles and exploration in this game that essentially require sight.
>>
>>324087806
You should watch some. He basically relies on Door positioning and sound ques
>>
>>324086805
Just get a few blind people that play videogames and make it with their suggestions and playtesting in mind, it should probably have a narrator that describes everything and gameplay should rely on sound cues.
>>
>>324082664
This.
>>
>mfw he probably got stuck at the owl for 4 of those years
>>
Good for him, i could never go back to playing games while blind, it would just be enfuriating.

He still has to have had a LOT of help. It's incredible that he can navigate the game but unless he knows exactly what he has to do then it would be impossible
>>
>>324088856
Honestly the only game I'd play if I was blind would be Rock Band drums.
>>
>savescummer
Who cares
>>
>>324082439
Runnerguy did it on an N64 so no
>>
>>324085553

>The entire game is basically Crystal Cave to him

The horror

>a speedrunner that have run the game 100's of times made it without savestates and in less time
Is this fucking reverse bait or something?
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPF4K2xYEwo
Romscout just beat SOTN blind in less than an hour
>>
>>324090680
>Runnerguy
But runnerguy isn't blind. And he has played the game enough times to know basically everything.
>>
>>324091102
so did this guy but with savestates
>>
>>324090950
do you think this blind guy was was playing through the game for the first time or something? And have you even thought about how much of an insane advantage savestates are?
>>
>>324086036
Never have loved at all is worse. Like being blind, it is worse being born blind because you never got to see at any point to begin with, unlike people who turned blind, because they were actually able to see at some point in time.
>>
>>324083998

was he born blind?
>>
>>324091212
I don't think you understand the difference between a guy who plays it like his fucking job with eyesight vs someone who is blind and wants to beat it.
But I don't know if he was born blind or if he at least have played Ocarina of Time once while being able to see.
You still can't compare them.
>>
It would have been funnier if he spent 5 years trying to win a Dota 2 game though with the way matchmaking works, it would have taken him like 2 weeks.
