Sorey and Mikleo had one of the best relationship I've played in a long time
While I didn't like how the game played I felt the problem all could easily be fixed in a new game. Take away grinding for the weapons and just let me have control over how skills carry over, let me control the camera, ect.

As for the support I fucking hate Rose mostly because I just never really was a fan of assassins in a games without good reasons to have them in your party. At least with Shadow in FF6 they talked about how they shouldn't trust him while EVERYONE just agrees Rose is "the purest of hearts!"

They just bounce off each other well. And they act almost like an old married couple at times. I don't even care that they are gay or not I just felt they were way more believable than so many other games where the MC and the girl are meant to fall in love. Really the only reason I kept going to see those two. To me they were the one thing that was actually really good in a game where a lot of other things went seriously wrong.

Zestiria could have been good, but the gameplay was too limited compared to the other games' amount of tools in combat. Also, I really don't like where the games are going in regards to phasing out multiplayer. At least Xilia 2 gave you a fun incentive to play as the main character instead of putting weird restrictions on your whole party. Also, where did all the damage go? Even when Armatized and hitting weaknesses, there's just no damage.

It's a horrible entry in the series. I don't think I'd be out of line saying that it's worse or at best on par with Tempest. At least that game had the decency to be short.

I honestly didn't know the vocals were a thing until after I beat the game. I know it's probably just bias because I heard the instrumental one first, but I kind of like it better. The guitar shit is really rad.

i've put about 50 hours into this. halfway through my second run.

my only complaint is the weapon/stat boost system is way too complicated. unless you play on hard difficulty on your first run, you're probably not going to understand half of it as it's unnecessary. i'm only getting good drops now because of the lord of the land boons and a grade shop option i bought.

i guess having random drops is a way to make multiple runs interesting, as you get different gear each time, but i'll be damned if i don't like a more traditional "get certain beast weapon from certain part of game/difficult enemy/quest" style.

laila is adorable and rose is a sweetheart. playing a tales game in japanese at 60fps is pretty sweet. fingers crossed symphonia hd gets modded quickly, as we all know namdai will port the shitty ps2 version.
