Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games of all time. But that control scheme is hot garbage for multiplayer or really for anything other than a game like Metroid Prime.

Really I think the game's main flaws so far just seem to be bad graphics, slow movement, and not enough to differentiate the players.
I'm guessing this will just wind up being Luigi's Mansion 2 all over again: Mission based structure will totally fuck over the exploration aspect and it won't capture what everyone liked about the series but it will probably it's share of fun elements.

Literally moments after the trailer dropped, people on /v/ were condemning the execution, not the idea. That's one of the most heartbreaking aspects of this whole mess. LOTS of us wanted a co-op shooter with gfed troopers. But we wanted something serious, with depth and skill and that darker scifi tone Metroid games are good at. We wanted "Republic Commandos: Metroid Edition" but we got "Baby's First Shooter: Chibi Edition: Featuring Soccer"

Yes, there is lock on and strafe but you use the gyro controls to aim. Exactly like Metroid Prime 3, which had great controls.

I don't really like the gameplay much either but my point is that Wind Waker at least looked good despite the different art style, this game is severely lacking, probably because it's just something they're rushing out before they move onto the NX like the rest of Nintendo's lineup recently.

At the end of the day though Undertale is made by like one guy and Fed Force is made by a big team so it's not a fair comparison anyway.

Man I feel bad for Tanabe. You can tell in the interview he's really interested in talking about the game itself but the interviewer is just pestering him about the other Metroid Primes and a new game. Although I guess on the other hand what could he possibly expect with this shit. I have the feeling that even if this game is good, it'll still be difficult for me to really even associate it with Metroid.
