Because the Aim key is shared with the Heavy attack for daggers. So you have to already be in Bow mode in order for Aim to work.
Default key for switching is Q, I think. I'm not too fond of this system to be honest. It's not bad, just feels a little clunky.

Even then, a Pawn does better as a Mage than a sorcerer. For a player, yeah, the increased swathe of offensive options is great, and you'd definitely want to level even a healing/buffbitch pawn as a Sorcerer to get those delicious augments, but the loss of Anodyne fucking sucks.

Nah. Dragons Age Origins is in the subgenre of pseudo-turn based "real time" RPGs.

Dragons Dogma is more of an ARPG, in that combat is true real-time, including eating shit to a move you could have easily dodged if you weren't stuck in the reset animation from a prior move.

You've got shadow of the colossus style giant-enemy climbing, along with melee and ranged combat that's based on light attacks, heavy attacks, and a suite of 6 abilities that you slot in to create your characters movelist.

Whatever you do, don't make your pawn's inclination Guardian. It makes them virtually useless. I'd start with any class that isn't mage since that's a support class more geared towards pawns. The character creator does factor into your carry weight, stamina and run speed, so if you play as a loli you're kinda gimping yourself in all 3 of those categories in exchange for the ability to get into small areas like goblin dens and shit.

Also don't be afraid to switch vocations to try stuff out and see what you like.
