Once you get to Gran Soren you can change at any time provided you have enough points. Besides the stamina gain you get from strider is good for warrior so it doesn't hurt to stay strider for a while.

The whole "train mah pawn" thing is overrated, it's only if you want to teach them to use very specific attacks and be a min max faggit. They will be perfectly competent otherwise and even learn from other pawns in your party so do what ever you want. The real important thing is the inclinations.

Warrior is garbage. Some bosses are just plain broken when you go in as a warrior and they don't have the damage to offset the lack of ranged/mobility.

Like others have said you can always switch out, and you should, but switch out knowing that the warrior has some serious flaws that manifest later on.

You should probably always keep Fire/Holy or Ice/Holy on you at all times. I prefer ice for end game and bitterblack isle. Holy is great because if you get this staff skill you can charge up and shoot like 11 orbs at once.

You can cast spells with your sword. Not in the sense of laser beams but you stabs down a orb into the ground and while it's floating you hit it with your sword and everytime you hit it, it sends missiles to the nearest enemy. It's actually really good when paired with ice or holy. Can freeze people quite nicely.

My dark elfu came out ok. My actual Arisen looks like ass, looked good in the creator but in the world it's crap so I'll fix that once I get someplace that lets me.

Also the sword and board bandit down the path after the boulder is amazingly strong. He just clobbers my pawns in like 2 hits and takes me down in 2-3 while taking almost no damage from anything.

Mystic Knights use Magic Shields, that's their main shtick, their unique weapon.

You can use Magic Shield and Sword/Mace or Magic Shield and Staff. You can cast magic with both your shield and sword, the shield magic focuses heavily on buffs, the sword magic has some AOE stuff and Turret type thing that cast projectiles when struck by either you or enemies, these sword spells all have synergy with the shield buffs and each other. The staff let's you cast most mage spell minus the support ones and few unique ones. There's also a unique AOE spell but i forget if it's for shields or swords/maces.

Normal turns into brain dead easy mode really fast until you unlock the next phase in the game and the process repeats itself.
