Just put my first computer together a night or two ago. Question! I've already played 100-200 hours on PS3, not sure the exact amount but I platinum'd it. I am hype as fuck for another go at this glorious game, but I'm looking for some interesting build ideas. Last time I played I switched around between all the vocations but mostly specialized in magick. I originally wanted to play an MK but it was a bit slow paced from the start and the FPS didn't help it's appeal. Ultimately I spent most of the game as a magick archer which was fun as fuck and I'm really tempted to just play it again, but I feel obligated to try something else.

So, are there any cool/unique/interesting builds out there? I was considering making Kazuma Kiryu with a Haruka pawn and doing an unarmed build, but the shitty unarmed combat looks boring as fuck. Looks more like something you'd do for a challenge, not as a fun way to play though the game.

I was also looking at the Iraklis sword, we should be getting all those DLC weapons aside from the Berserk stuff right? I never spent much time playing warrior but love the slow huge weapon style so that might be a cool thing to try. Only thing I'm worried about is building all that strength would kind of lock you in to the build.

Any other ideas? If I can't decide something I'll probably just end up making a completely average character and switch around to whatever I feel like at the time.

They also barely give a shit about base strength. Most of MK's unique abilities only consider strength, not character strength.

Having more strength helps, since core skills work as expected, as do skills that MK shares with Fighter. But you want to play a MK, so just play a MK. If you want to pick up a few warrior/assassin levels or something, go for it. Lion's share of your attributes are going to come from gear, however.

Experiment. The game doesn't really penalize you for being indecisive. All the classes are viable with the exception of maybe mage- it's great for pawns but kind of lame for the player character unless you just want to let your pawns have all the fun.
