I understand the need, but there should be something out there. V would have benefitted from a Catalina Island type town in the middle of that sea. Vice City (be it modern or end of 80s war on drugs) NEEDS the caribbean nations. A stark contrast between glam and shanty town is an awesome thought, and drug running between international waters would make great missions.

Boston isn't an iconic American city to the rest of the world, though. No matter where you're from, everyone has an idea of what New York, Los Angeles, and Miami culture is.

Bully II was actually cancelled in late 2013 believe it or not. Some voice actor, worked on the original Bully and no other R* games, said he was working on a project with Rockstar Toronto and heavily hinted at it being Bully 2. A few months later he claimed it'd been cancelled.

Maybe he backtracked to cover his shit, who knows. But regardless I don't think they'd be hiring voice actors before researching the location

I have a theory that the police behavior about things like that was a result of how many mass shootings there were in GTA V's development, I hope they can get their balls back for VI

"Snappy" controls are gamey and immersion breaking. GTA is no longer a fucking toy. Just because you can't spin on a dime doesn't make it a poor quality experience.

Go play Ubisoft games or fucking Saint's Row if you want a gamey, snappy, "run by default" experience. Don't ruin GTA's realism.

"Human tanks" is a huge exaggeration. You're not *playing* the characters anymore (as you were in III - San Andreas), you're controlling them. You're a puppet master.

I haven't played Ass Creed but I have played Saints Row.. I assume you prefer those controls. They would not work in GTA.

I haven't played Saints Row so I can't comment on that. I think tank controls kinda describe the movement in GTA since they can't really just turn around without spinning. At least in Assassin's Creed you can reverse your direction. It's just kinda funny since on some of those custom jobs where you're standing on some platform up in the air, people will sometimes just accidentally run over the edge. It's not realistic if getting through a door is a hassle

I actually really liked the story and themes of GTA4. Filtering the concept of the American dream through the eyes of an immigrant from a war-torn shithole was actually pretty poignant.

Unfortunately, that kind of thing doesn't fit with GTA. You can't really have a tight narrative focus in a sandbox. The nature of the game cripples the pacing of a story, but the worst thing is that player actions are always going to undermine any attempt at poignancy. You can't have a story about a guy with a troubled past when players are going drive flaming cars into pedestrians. You can't have your cake and lob grenades at it too.
