Can someone tell me what this means?
I mean, this already came out didn't it? I never looked into it because I don't have a Wii U but i thought this came out.
And if it did, Why is everyone labeling it as a 'Standalone'? Is it not already a full game or something?
is it worth the extra $20 to get it with bayo1 if I never played it?
The first run came with Bayonetta 1 and it recent;y became hard to find and being held hostage by scalpers. They're doing a reprint where it's just Bayonetta 2 and only costs $30
>tfw still have a sealed Bayo 1+2 I got early last year for like $40 and never opened
Been saving it for a rainy day. Feels so good.
It's just Bayo 2. The original release came with a port of the first game too. It was a fantastic deal back when it first released but now it's really rare and if you can find it, a scalper has it.
I'm so fucking awful at picking winners.
>See game in store
>"I better buy that before it gets too hard to find"
>Price drops to $10
>See game in store
>"Eh I don't have the money right this moment, I'll hold off"
>Starts going on eBay for $100+
So is Nintendo going to revise the online pricing now? Like you can get both Bayo 1 & 2 digitally for $35-40?
Bayonetta 1 was already made, and the additions(Nintendo costumes, control scheme to make button layout similar to Bayonetta 2) were trivial.
Nintendo could've sold them separately for a greater premium, but it was worth incentivizing people that had never played the series to jump in.
Bayo 2 sold like 800k at full price in over a year with an install base of 10 million consoles.
Bayo 1 on PS3/360 sold 2 million with an install base 6-7 times that at the time. 2 did well.
It's pretty damn worth it.
By the time you've got a grip on the controls the game launches itself into cuhrazy town and doesn't stop until the credits finish.
It's pretty easy though.
>Nintendo title that is good/will likely have low shipments
>price will take 10 years to drop to less than 2/3rds of MSRP, will be impossible to find
>literally any other title
>half price at the 6-month mark, $20 by next year
>ever doing price drops
>in a thread discussing how Bayonetta 2's standalone price dropped by $20
It'd pretty much just be Bayonetta 2, but with more clothes shopping and buying hor d'oeuvres trays.
Not a game but a console. I own one of these
>control scheme to make button layout similar to Bayonetta 2
does it have that? I never found a way to change lock-on from R to LZ. I hated the shoulder button use in 1 on the ps3 and I still hate it on WiiU.
used to own Burning Rangers but I have a policy about not just buying games for the sake of collecting but actually playing, and when I got around to playing it I didn't think it was that great and I sold it off.
The World Ends With You
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Marvel VS Capcom 2 (Dreamcast)
Power Stone 1-2 (Dreamcast)
Metroid Prime Trilogy
any of those worth anything?
Are those literally all the games you own or did you just pick random ones and hazard a guess that they might be expensive.
Pretty much none of those are ridiculously expensive, although some are arguably going for more than they are worth.
>Brawl got reprinted for 8th gen
>not even in Nintendo Selects form so it's still priced above average
>a few months ago
So before the Smash reveal, then?
>Finish Bayo 2
>Realize that the only one who got fucked over majorly was Balder and everyone just simply moved on like as if he was yesterday's hot garbage
I wish they'd rerelease The Wonderful 101.
More people need to play that game instead.
this will spoil the first game though
it's better going into the first game, getting mindfucked by the clusterfuck of story at first, then finally getting it after some playthroughs, and then enter into 2
also 2's gameplay mechanics are different, if you get used to umbran climax, jumping into bayo 1 then will fuck you over, the same with taunt
There's not much need to reprint it when there's still plenty of copies of it.
If they made like a deluxe package of Bayonetta 1 and 2, Wonderful 101, and Transformers Devastation or some other Platinum game, I'd buy the shit out of it even though I already own Bayo 1 and 2 and W101.
>tfw picked up the Bayo 2 + 1 original release like six months ago on a whim
>hearing about all this now
This is the first time I've ever been ahead of the curve and it feels glorious. Helps that I fell in love with Bayo, both the woman and the gameplay.
tfw W101 was one year too early for amiibos to save sales but too early in development to be considered for Smash
I would also buy the shit out of W101 amiibos. I would actually go out of my way to preorder them if Nintendo actually made them.
Yep. That was one of the reasons I was hoping he'd make it. I'm happy Bayonetta ended up in there, but I still would've preferred Red, especially since he's technically a Nintendo character.
Oh well, there's always 5mash.
I don't use them on all my posts, typically only when I'm posting lewd things or trying not to annoy people who don't want to read about semi-irrelevant things.
>Oh well, there's always 5mash.
I will most certainly keep rooting for him in the back of my mind, but unless the game gets some more traction, a sequel or some sort of renewed interest from the general public, I highly doubt he will be considered for the game.
Maybe we'll be lucky. Kamiya mentioned something about wanting to do some kind of Wonder-Blue spinoff sometime.
Also, yeah, I'm the Vijounne fanfic guy.
Yeah because the Ice Climbers had so much traction when Melee came out.
At this point, assuming they keep 90% of the roster for 5ma5h, even if that's counting inevitable DLCs bringing characters back, they'd really be scraping the bottom of the barrel for new franchises to bring to Smash.
Kamiya says a lot of shit.
And yet they, wolf, ivysaur, squirtle, and even pichu has a higher chance to make it in.
Expect bomberman and some other third parties to get higher priority too.
All that said, we're not likely to see a 5mash for a while, I imagine. Between the last DLC coming out for Sm4sh in a month and Sakurai supposedly no longer heading the series, it might be quite a ways into the NX's lifespan before we see 5mash.
Yeah, Kamiya does. He also wanted to make a Jeanne-centered game. But we can still hope.
>konami doing anything with their IPs other than throwing them at pachinko machines
At least we always have the N64 Bomberman games.
Sakurai is bros with Kamiya and I think I read he did like W101, so theres always a possibility.
His love of Fire Emblem and Xenoblade are why there are reps. Plus Sakurai does tend to look at the previous gen for characters and stages.
Short of obviously Splatoon, Wonderful 101 and STEAM are the only "noteworthy" new Nintendo IPs even if both of them flopped.
Ice Climbers are a retro pick. Smash has had a retro pick 3 games in a row now. Ice Climbers, ROB, now Duck Hunt. I wouldn't be surprised if either Mach Rider or Takamaru fills that role come Smash 5.
Well Shulk was a no brainer as far as making a moveset goes, and with Xenoblade X on the horizon I wouldn't be surprised if he got some nudges from the higher ups about including a Xeno rep.
>I think I read he did like W101
Really doubt he's ever mentioned that, if so Wonderfags like me would have spread it around like gospel. If he had the time to play and understand this masterpiece he would have most certainly included it in the game over not one, not two, but three new Fire Emblem characters and one returning veteran, two of them DLC.
Speaking as someone who hasn't played Awakening
and isn't really a fan of the series in generalMarth, Ike, and Robin don't bother me. They're all unique in their own ways and play differently enough. Lucina being virtually indistinguishable from Marth bugs me a little, but much like Dr. Mario and all, she's there to pad out the roster, not to take the place of other characters. Roy I'm not too bothered by, since he's DLC and all. The new one, Corrin or whatever, initially annoyed me since it was another FE character, but his moveset looks different from all the rest and so I'm fine with it, aside from them using a character from a game that isn't out yet though I guess they had the Woolly World stage before, so whatever.
>Now I got to pay around eighty bucks everywhere to get Bayo 1 for my Wii U cause I waited to long
WHY! WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG! I swear I saw Bayo 2+1 20-30ish dollars somewhere back during the holidays holy fuck...
You waited because you're a silly person. You should've known better, especially when the Bayo announcement hit.
Besides, why didn't you already have the game so you could play it in all it's greatness?
>My dog destroyed my copy of Bayonetta 1
>Waiting for Nintendo to restock it to buy the Disc version
How fucked am I?
>tfw acquired Bayo 1&2 bundle at launch
>tfw acquired every amiibo I ever wanted
>tfw acquired Limited Edition version of Fatal Frame 5
>tfw have Twilight Princess HD & Wolf Link successfully pre-ordered
Such is life in Europe.
Please be wrong, because I bought the two pack last month and am really hating Bayo 1 so far. Can't even be asked to continue past the head guy boss.
It honestly depends on your taste in videogames.
Plenty of people do believe Bayo 2 to be superior in every way; and if you're hating Bayo 1 that much so far, you're probably one of those people.
Because as soon as the Smash announcement happened everyone sold out of the copies they had. We also don't have separate copies like you do, so the only way you can get a disk based 1 is if you buy 2, and thanks to this only 2 will be on disk and whatever else is left will be scalped copies.
I belive you're suffering from an affliction known to most as "Shit Taste" and I'm also afraid there is no cure. You're stuck with your shitty, shitty taste in video games for as long as you continue to exist.
It basically would have been Kamiya's new vision and the original vision coexisting perfectly. It's honestly pretty shitty we didn't get the chance to see how Kamiya would handle classic Nintendo characters
Personally, I haven't spent enough time with either Bayonetta to truly master the combat, so I can only speak from a layman's standpoint.
Bayonetta 1's pros include:
-Free costumes unlocked from the start that, most importantly, give you access to the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa ability right away
-A multitude of weapons that its sequel does not offer
-Five difficulty levels compared to Bayo2's four, along with a slightly higher difficulty in general (though whether that is a pro or con depends on you)
-According to people who are incredibly accomplished at the genre, Bayo1's mechanics are more involved and in-depth than Bayo2's
-A final boss that looks great, but plays mediocre
Bayonetta 2's pros include:
-A multitude of weapons that its prequel does not offer
-The removal of instant-death trophy-tarnishing QTEs
-Non-combat sequences like Route 666 and the Afterburner section from Bayo1 have mostly been either removed or toned down significantly in length
-Getting hit no longer depletes magic, and Umbran Climax makes things simpler, along with a lower difficulty level in general (again, pro or con is dependent)
-Online Tag Climax mode
-A final boss that plays great, but lacks in spectacle compared to the first
From a personal standpoint, I think Bayonetta 2 is better overall, but that's partially because the insta-death QTEs in Bayo 1 and the Route 666 and Afterburner sections were always annoying to me, and also because I'm not good enough at the game yet to really be good at the combat mechanics. It also has more varied environments and some really cool weapons.
You mean like a mario amiibo making a bridge?
I dunno, I'm conflicted on the issue. W101 is such a fantastic world and atmosphere, I'm really gald it's its own thing. It's just so original. Part of me thinks its better off like this since it would just get grouped in as yet another Nintendo ensemble game.
As fun as it would've been to see Platinum doing a Nintendo-themed action game, I can't deny that I absolutely love W101 for everything it is. The sentai theme works perfectly with it, and a lot of the stuff in the game just wouldn't have worked or felt as charming if it were all Nintendo, I feel.
The Punch-Out segments wouldn't have been as entertaining if we were already expecting it, and, all things considered, Mother Brain would have been a rather anticlimactic boss fight compared with Jergingha.
Also Nintendo games are, for the most part, entirely devoid of giant robots, which only made things better in W101.
I wouldn't mind seeing more Nintendo mashups ala Smash, but I think it'd work better as some sort of massive world-spanning RPG instead of a pure action game. Maybe Platinum can tackle one of Nintendo's series proper after they're done with StairFax and Nier and all.
I mean having the OG characters like Mario, Link, DK, Samus, and maybe a couple others like Game and Watch Getting to show up if you scan their Amiibo in. It would be fun seeing how they would work, and only having 6-8 characters wouldn't ruin what Kamiya created.
Better beg for a sequel then. That would more than likely have amiibo integration.
Bayonetta, Jeanne an Rodinare already wonderful ones, I don't see why Mario, Link and Samus can't be too.
>tfw haven't played this game in about half a year to 7 months ago
>started pc gaming shortly after
>start playing consoles again recently
>everywhere I see jaggies all over the place
>it looks like complete shit
>no antialiasing at all, looks like 720p upscaled
Is it possible to fix these shit graphics somehow? The jaggies hurt my eyes.
The funny thing is I thought this game's graphics looked really good before I became a mustard.
It's good that it's 60 fps but it still looks like complete ASS.
Go play some N64 and PS1 games for a while.
When you come back, you'll revel in how great the games nowadays look.
or just stop bitching about graphics and enjoy the games I mean goddamn
>tfw bought original Bayonetta 1+2 a week before the Smash direct
>payed same price as OP pic
not at all faggot
first, 2 expands on 1's gameplay, it would be dumb to go back
second, 2 spoils every major plot point of 1
third, you're a fucking idiot
Post yfw you got the bundle before the smash announcement
I bought it day 1 and marathoned Bayo 1 before starting Bayo 2.
Glad you think so. At some point I need to go back and play more Bayo and W101 and try to beat the higher difficulties.
