RISK OF CRASH
>played enforcer last night
>was dead the entire game
>decide to try it in single player with same settings as online
>couldn't get past first level even after camping a corner for an hour, too slow to escape anything or play normally
I wish that last patch had just removed enforcer from the game so I could give up on him, but I want to believe if you actually managed to survive a few rounds and get items that he *could* maybe be good.
Nigger please, I just started playing again yesterday after years of not playing, and I've already cleared the game 4 times on Monsoon with the Enforcer.
Tesla Coil, Frost Relic, and anything else that does somewhat close range damage is glorious on him.
I don't play with Artifacts on to be honest. I'm a purist.
As for whites, yeah, Hooves and any other mobility items are as good as they are on just about every other character. Hell, even some Gasoline and Barbed wire make me happy when i see them as the Enforcer.
The main difficulty to learning him is understanding when and where to use Protect and Serve. It's an amazing ability but if you use it at any place that isn't optimal, it will get you killed in seconds.
How do you guys play together? Like do you share items, or does everybody just run for every chest and horde shit?
I imagine it's the latter because this is /v/ and you're all enormous faggots.
you mean this, or something else?
Still missing the chargefield crash
Your anger nourishes me. If you just ignored me, I'd get devastated and leave, but you can't stop reacting to every little thing I say or do, so I have no choice but to stay.
I'd also leave if you made the game babbymode and turned off honor and funballs. the game becomes way too easy without them, it's just not fun.
>Then undisputed best Artifact
>Making the game anything but a cake walk
Nigger, I was almost exclusively an Enforcer player. My play time is shit though on all of the characters since I
pirated the game back when I played it, and now I'm using a bought copy.
>I'm a stupid cunt that cannot understand basic English
The pirated copy has obviously been deleted since it became irrelevant once I started playing on a legit copy of the game.
>Needs artifacts as a crutch for his piss poor skill
>Cannot understand why somebody would delete a pirated copy of the game when they get the legit version
Loving every laugh tbqh
I have that problem too and I haven't been able to fix it. If you know your external ip (you can just google a website that will tell you what the ip you visited with was) then you can tell people. They will still be able to join you. It's just a glitch in your game preventing it from being displayed.
>Needs Glass to win
>I-it's fun being able to 1 shot everything in the game!
It's fun to have enemies not be bullet sponges. Glass (especially with spite on) puts you in just as much danger. A single mistake with your invincibility moves on cooldown can kill you. The game is more compelling when you aren't just standing still and laying into a group of enemies that will never die. It's just slower and less interesting.
glass is only shit if you take infusion first thing and play without funballs. You'll eventually hit that "godmode" point no matter what, but there's a slightly higher barrier to it.
>losing isn't an quick thing, but a long, slow process that can't be stopped once started
>multiplayer means several times as many mobs, same amount of items
and, the kicker
>winning isn't a result of skill, ability usage, class knowledge, or any sort of player action, but what items you get
so, why would you do this to yourself?
Items are part of the game, part of the fun.
You can't really finish the game without knowing anything about the characters. Items are based on luck, I don't think they are such a bad thing like you imply.
... Yea I'm still not following. When did I say items were bad? The problem is being entirely reliant upon luck to be able to do enough damage to clear a level before creeping past 2 more difficulty levels.
>Play in Artifact heavy server
>Classes such as Enforcer and Han-D are severely gimped while Snipers and anybody with range/a ton of dashes are unkillable
>It's much better
>Every class has their niche
>The difficulty takes too long to ramp up
How about a compromise.
How about a server with...
>classes such as Enforcer and Han-D are severely gimped
why is it only scrublords hold this opinion? I played HAN-D an hour ago and carried the game. Seriously git gud. Not even meming, learn how to play the game.
That's only somewhat true for enforcer, because enforcer's only strength is meatshield, which glass and funballs invalidate, leaving a lame class with too many defensive abilities and no avoidance.
So let me get this straight. An escape pod crashes on a planet with tweleve survivors, 2 of which are robots, one is a monster... and only one woman, and the woman doesn't get raped.
How am I suppose to believe this shit?
Don't worry, I'm considering making a server like that on here already, and it will be a guaranteed to be more popular than the shitfest of a basic setup we have going on right now.
It's LITERALLY faggots who are scared to play without glass on so they can't 1 shot bosses and any elites that WOULD be dangerous if they didn't get 1 bombed.
>Claims he can carry games with characters that are literally unable to carry games with glass on
>"Alright, prove it"
>Spergs out spouting a bunch of irrelevant shit
Like pottery, to be honest.
>WAAAHHHH I got called out!
>h-have y-you ever m-made a g-game?!
>classes such as Enforcer and Han-D are severely gimped
My ability to be better than your scrub ass is irrelevant to this. I was just using an example to prove you wrong. Playing with shitters or good people is irrelevant. Git gud or go home, but don't shittalk characters you don't know how to play or even have unlocked.
>Gets blown the fuck out
>Desperately tries to save face when asked to prove himself
Where oh where did I put my sides this time?
Can you even beat the game without your precious glass?
>oh shit i got BTFO
>better talk about him instead of my inability to play the game!
>y-you g-got b-btf-fo!
that's funny, the only person who can't play for shit here is you. Can you even beat the game at all?
Latest version, your local games pirating website.
/v/ rule before you play: get 8 clovers before taking anything else from green chest. Follow that and we can all have a good time.
Is this nigger for real? I'm playing with you right now, watching you die at the start of every map within 10 seconds of the enemies spawning, all while I'm the only one alive killing everything.
You're shit, mate.
Now stop stuttering like a faggot.
So, do you need to do anything complicated to host, or do I just click host and give you my IP and that's all?
Because my net is so-so, so I just want somebody to test if it's actually playable with me.
I wish more people would be like me and give an actual time frame. If you say 2 minutes then you don't get anons like >>323994396 waiting forever, wondering where their life went wrong and why everything took a turn for the worse.
>Deadbolt will release and Risk of Rain will never get another patch.
Well we did it guys, good job you glorious fuckers.
Alright, since people want a host I'll try hosting from my terrible connection in bongistan
starting as soon as we hit 10 people
I gotta go to work
sorry for the crash and 300+ ping you ameribros
Is there any connection between difficulty/whether a boss is a regular or elite version and drop rates of their logs and boss items. Because I'm missing a few more boss logs and items and it's starting to piss me off.
Here's the rules of Risk of Rain:
1. Never get chargefield generator
2. Never get infusion when you have glass and honor on
3. Never stay on ropes when someone hits the teleporter
4. Never get ceremonial dagger, it makes the game piss easy
5. Never get happiest mask, it makes the game easy but it also causes lag kills everywhere
>saw the thread yesterday evening
>well shit, gotta go to sleep, too bad I missed a chance to play
>come back from work today, thread is still up
What the fuck, guys? When did RoR come back from the dead?
I don't use Steam, so I woudn't know. Still, it's fucking sweet if there will be people to play with through the weekend. I love the game to death, but damn, I've spent way too much time playing it by myself.
Yes. You could also edit pretty much anything else in it.

Password is funballs
Note that it's a gm8.1 project and doesn't work properly in studio.
nah, it's literally impossible
How about procedural generation?
We currently have 2-3 variations for each stage, which is really lacking.
Another useful feature would be online pausing and hot joining, as well as better difficulty tweaking options.
We just need a few more variation in between.
No need for some ultra advanced landscape, but either some set rooms being linked randomly, or just lot's of possible sets, and the game choosing a few of them instead of just one.
>How about procedural generation?
Yeah, I can already imagine a level generated that's just one long tunnel filled with wisps and funballs. Hell yea.
Why stop there, why not "2 Risky 4 Rain"
Risk of Rain
Risk of Rain 2: Monsoon Season
Providence (gritty reboot leading up to the events of RoR where you play as Providence)
Risk of Rain (remake of the original but worse in every aspect)
Risk of Rain Online
I bought this in the winter sale but can't seem to find myself enjoying it. The controls are clunky, the action is chaotic and so small that I can't see what the hell is going on and most actions like getting hit or hitting an enemy have little to no weight. I just can't get into it even though I can see that there's a lot of good stuff there, but it really just feels like a game jam game that was polished and expanded instead of retooled first.
Am I just doing something wrong? Does it take more time for this to get interesting? Are most other classes just way better with their abilities and maneuverability? I really feel like I'm missing out on some great stuff here.
I was in that game when the host left, i died and we had one player out of sync.
I think it just got stuck there.
A room in a game is no the same as a room in real life.
what would you call a smaller part of a stage that can be copied and placed all over the place?
I actually was imagining a more open approach to the room, as in when they connect it would be through a rope, or being near each other enough to jump without items.
No reason not to mix closed and open rooms though.
>can't I just get risk of rain with more of everything?
Only you crashed. I told you about CHARGEFIELD BRO, I TOLD YOU ABOUT
Anyway had to go so server is now rip.
Change scaling to x2. Get items, finish the game consistently. Then get artifacts, turn glass on, go for origin runs on monsoon.
Then change difficulty to 500 and lose all hope.
But you said it doesn't have walls. Make up your mind, man.
>The controls are clunky
Get a better gamepad, nigger. The controls are tighter than virgin loli pussy.
>the action is chaotic and so small that I can't see what the hell is going on
Use 2x scaling and pay attention.
>Am I just doing something wrong?
>Are most other classes just way better with their abilities and maneuverability?
Depends on how you like to play. I've been playing this for 3 years now and I still main Commando. Enforcer is about the only class that is universally shit, everything else can be god tier if you git gud.
Why? Your success rate depends entirely on items that deal passive damage AND whether you don't get wisps that wipe you out.
It's quite fun.
Protip: you can do it on Drizzle if you're a complete pussy. Just pick Cuntress or Engie and enjoy. And if you can't do it even then, just uninstall the game and kill yourself.
Huntress is literal EZ mode. I'm serious, if you can't do an Origin run on Drizzle with Huntress, you have no hope with this game. For x-tra casual goodness, keep restarting the game until you get Lemurians on the first stage, then just farm those fuckers until you're godmode and just breeze through the rest of the game.
no item runs are tedious as fuck. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
we both know you aren't going to host and/or you don't even know how.
I am going to regret this.
>yfw they're 2 different people
>yfw they're both in the same game at the same time with enigma off
