Is there a more overpowered starting weapon in the history of videogames?
Yeah, the other one they allow you to choose at the beginning.
>it's an axe
into a longer axe
i don't know what i even expected
>optional beast's embrace rune
Level 80 AWAY AWAY build is so much fun. Especially with chalice gems.
Why, because you begin the level with the assault rifle/sniper and don't get access to the pistol later or something? I always ditch the sniper rifle for the pistol once you make it aboard the T&R, there are some dead marines that have them available for pickup.
The difficulty of the level doesn't change with the pistol.
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure a dead marine right before the gravity lift has one on his corpse, but I might be mistaken. It's been a long time, anon.
It's entirely possible I could be wrong.
100% sure. I remember it because I spent a lot of time with the editors on the PC version. If a weapon wasn't naturally in a level, you actually had to rebuild the entire level through HEK to put it in, and T&R is the only one that has no Pistol naturally.
Those marines have sniper ammo by them.
Tonitrus and arguably steak driver are the only bad weapons.
Because it scales poorly, and speedrunners dont waste time upgrading or unlocking better weapons.
The cleaver is the "best" weapon at base level, however, Due to poor scaling, it becomes the worst weapon after 4 hours of normal playing when you can upgrade your weapon multiple times.
The cleaver is literally the best weapon in the entire game, faggot.
>saw bonus damage
>fast as fuck
>incredible small charge attack with a large hitbox
>can be buffed
Shitty axe user detected.
>Shitters in full defence mode.
Sorry you were too stupid to notice the piss poor scaling and the fact that every weapon outshines it after 3 upgrades.
Shhhht, let the shitters think they know what they're talking about.
The meme cleaver is only good for no upgrade speedruns and the first 2 hours of the game. After which it falls off hard.
I guess I haven't done much PVP, but Tonitrus has carried me through a lot of the PvE. Seems like all the eldritch shit and a lot of the later bosses are super weak to electricity.
>that completely useless vertical swing
>that long ass charge attack
Have you not used the charge attack in normal form? It's the shortest time for a charge, and it almost always guarantees a backstab chain.
and? what's your problem with it?
>solid, reliable tool
>transforms into another solid, reliable tool
would you prefer any of the dozen weapons in BB that rely on complex, fragile machinery to operate, of the kind that would immediately break upon being subjected to the stresses of combat?
It wasn't meant to be a copout anon, sorry. I'm wrong, there.
I definitely did play the game, numerous times, I just forgot about a small detail. You started out being really cool about this but you've turned into a douche now, great job.
All weapons in BB are good, though. If we're talking PvP, then it's:
However, that's only because they have poor movesets. The Boom Hammer hits really hard when tricked and so does the Tonitrus. The Tonitrus has the advantage of being a bolt weapon, though, and not many clothing options resist bolt aside from Henryk's set.
I think Stake Driver is really good. 50/25 STR/SKL makes it do a lot of damage and its moveset is fast, especially the tricked dash attack. The tricked R2 is useless in PvP unless the host is retarded, so I don't really use it.
DPS doesnt matter in bloodborne you dumb fucking cunt.
You're not constantly hitting the boss, infact, most of the time, you wont be hitting the boss.
Raw damage per swing is what counts.
To be fair any weapon could kill a hunter in one shot, they changed it in the other games though, it was ridiculous that a shoulder bash in the neck could down a mountain of a monster.
If you want to talk like that then I'll just say the charge attack is better in normal form.
Go watch a level 4 player fight Orphan. Do they use the transformed form? No. Because it fucking sucks.
The transformation attack is the only good thing.
>a halberd is just a longer axe
You're an idiot.
>people who use the sawcleaver throughout the entire game
it's such boring weapon. I swear, every time I see a friend of mine using it when playing I just suspect them of having watched a walkthrough while playing through the game
a starting weapon is what is initially offered to your character. In DaS these would be the longsword, axe, hand axe, dagger, scimitar.
in BB it's the axe, the cleaver, the threaded cane.
anything that you pick up from the environment is not a starting weapon, no matter how early you can get it.
>Not using the disgusting still quivering remains of a Great One
>All this reddit
>All this new
The fucking saw SPEAR is the best SAW weapon in the game you fucking hebes. This is objective fact and the cleaver doesn't even hit S teir.
Axe is the best starter and one of the best in the game. Choosing it gives you access to one handed and two handed movesets, with an L2 move and blunt, thrust, slash, everything you need.
The Absolute Best Weapon in Bloodborne is either the Logarius Wheel with flat arcane gems, or the Beasthunter Saif
Bloodletter, Rakuyo and such weapons are memes and do massive damage if you're stupid enough to keep walking into them.
>Is an S scale STR weapon good for STR builds?
I don't care how you feel. The saw spear is among the 3 best weapons in the game. In the right hands you can't beat the person unless you're equally matched in skill with the saif
Church Pick is moving up the teir ranks very quickly. It might just be one of the best in the game, as it has thrust, serrated, holy and great hyper armour and damage multipliers
I'm STR and ARC 25/50. The logarius wheel In its trick mode Scales strictly off arcane. non trick mode is STR. In its trick mode with 1 rev I can already smack most enemies 1k-1.5k.
Kin blood is grey/clear.
Rom, Ebrietas, and Celestial Emissary are great ones that are also kin because they all have clear/grey blood.
Celestial mobs, ayychildren in upper cathedral ward, and brainsuckers are all kin.
Amygdala is a great one but isn't kin. It bleeds red when it rips its arms out in its 2nd phase.
Lovecraftian space gods that influence reality/reside in their own dimensions. Frontier is amy's area of influence, for example. Mensis is wet nurse's area of influence.
>Kin of the Cosmos
Ascended/former humans who have been granted eyes
This isn't shit, OP.
Demon's Souls had a Royalty as a starting class.
You have a lower starting SL, but you start with:
Soul Arrow, a low cost, high damage spell that you can rock everything in the early game with.
A Silver Catalyst that increases your maximum MP and has better scaling than the standard wooden catalyst.
A Circlet that also increases your MP
and a ring that slowly regenerates your MP
along with a Rapier, which is pretty nice since piercing damage is helpful in the early game.
That shit is bananas.
Holy Moonlight Sword
Blade of Mercy
Ludwig's Holy Blade
>Moonlight Meme Sword
Please stop using meme weapons. The cane is all you need and is the most skilled weapon of the game.
>tfw Pimp Cane/Shooty Stick
Feels so swag
Enjoy bouncing off objects and stunning yourself with your shitty EZ PARRY moveset, faglord
The Cane is probably the worst most boring weapon in the game, beastcutter is a straight upgrade to it in every way and uses a real stat to scale from
Memecutter required no skill and even a child can use it. The untransformed cane is the weapon of choice for any GOOD hunter. Sorry that you require a weapon to carry you throughout the game. One day you will get better.
bowblade is the coolest weapon and the dash backwards/transform attack is so fucking satisfying to use.
Stop responding. This anon posts in BB threads all the time sucking the canes dick and calling everything else a meme weapon. He has admited to not playing the game and is just baiting you faggots.
>Use the Hunter Axe since its my favorite weapon because I love axes.
>Barely ever use the halberd mode
>People accuse me of being an R2 charging faggot
Fuck, every time.
I mostly want to know because I just got it, and the one thing I wanted in blodoborne was a legit chainsaw/sword, this is the closest i'm getting so I want to use it.
Is there a worse weapon than this? The hammer is slow as fuck and hard to hit with, while the sword has no range.
>choose the cane as starting weapon
>"nice moveset, guess I'll move on to some other weapon later on though"
>it actually carries me through the whole fucking game
I mean it was pretty much the same deal with Dark Souls but here it's fucking ridiculous how insignificant the placement of a weapon is in the game. And they all feel so different, you could do a playthrough with each one of them it would be a different experience.
>transform attacks add range and damage and are just as fast as regular attacks and can combo in and out of them
Saw Cleaver is literally perfect.
Weapons are Bloodborne's strongest point.
They really made sure every weapon can carry you through the game.
Even tree he ones agreed to be the least useful or impractical.
And everybody argues what the best one is.
Okay folks I'm on my first playthrough and can someone enlighten me what's the deal with area on the right near church where you fight amelia? Past abbey and two dudes with giant axes. There's a small fountain with giant door and if you try to open it you get squished by some giant fuck. There's also a tons of players graves there so I'm not the only one who was dumb enough to open it. Do you need a lot of Insight to actually fight it or what?
nothing beats scarab gun from halo 2
It's "R1 everything into oblivion and stunlock everything" the weapon. I loved getting invaded in the nightmare, I'd dodge until the invader was back against a wall, then just R1 spam to victory. Got so much fan mail for it.
I really wish you could get the Bloodletter earlier than the very end of the DLC. It's a really fun weapon to use but there's fuck all to use it on unless you head up to NG+
It's better later in the game when you can slot it with blunt gems and have the str to increase the damage a lot.
Move set is actually a lot better then I took it for when I used it early game.
Rakuyo, parasite and bloodletter are all way too late in the dlc really. Especially when the first zone is just loaded with great str weapons you can walk to and pickup without having to kill something to get it to drop.
Hunters were always immune to from-behind melee kills. You're remembering wrong. They lost health from melee attacks, but could not be one-shotted.
Combat flood were immune too. Also, oddly enough, sentinels were not immune to stealth melee, and could be one-shotted from behind.
I know all this for fact, because I still play CE constantly.
>Yeah, the other one they allow you to choose at the beginning.
That weapon is way worse.
Axe gives you a lot of hp back when attacking, has better damage, far more versatile kit, the spin on transformed axe is amazing.
>Is there a more overpowered starting weapon in the history of videogames?
0/10 shit garbage weapon waste of blood shards
Nah, that's Ludwig's. Or HMS. Every weapon is interesting, it just seems the most boring because it's the poster-child weapon of the game. A giant strait razor is actually a pretty interesting weapon design.
I first finished the game playing alone, and made a new game online.
You don't miss much. You just feel less lonely, since there's a lot of message on the ground, you can see other players ghosts, etc... and you can also get invade.
It can also be more immersive if you play offline, without all these messengers every step and without any hint.
Holy Moonlight Sword
Ludwig's Holy Blade
Blade of Mercy
Beast's Embrace Claws
Those people are fucking stupid. Movesets are largely subjective preference anyway, because every weapon is the best of its class and generally don't share their movesets with each other.
Nah. Ultimately, the moveset isn't good enough.
Doesn't have broken transform attacks, the transform moveset screams to be parried, the AR is really low, it doesn't stack up to weapons with heavy abyssals, etc.
I have a gut feeling that the Milkweed rune head transformation is supposed to look like Squidward/Squilliam's head.
Also, check out its attack set with the Kos Parasite.
Literally Squidward. You can overlay his eyes on that image and it wouldn't look off at all.
Poor tracking, relatively bad range, doesn't step forward enough.
This here is a good r1. It steps forward a giant amount, it crouches the body to avoid bullets, and it chains into fast attacks that catch dashes.
i'm sure you're right, but the tc is so fucking fun.
like, i just gave up my strength build at lady maria because i still don't understand how str any weapon but the cane works.
there's something about fighting with the cane that just makes my blood pump, the pace is so perfect.
for some reason I just can't stand the folding weapons in the style of the saw cleaver in bloodborne.
They just look like they're really awkward to use when folded, and when open they should honestly be used two handed.
Unless the numbers on a weapon are egregiously low (and threaded cane isn't, particularly not when buffed)
this shit means very little. A weapon's moveset is as good as the person who's sensibilities it appeals to. If I'm comfortable with a weapon that you tell me is bad but I get results from switching over to say the saif isn't going to do me any good if it doesn't suit me.
Saif is good though.
>tfw will never be turned into a slug after beating an terrifying great one
>tfw will never be rewarded for my efforts by being made to pleasure a cute doll girl until the end of time
