It isn't as if Final Fantasy and FF7 especially are niche Japanese titles either, in fact FF7 is arguably bigger here then it is in Japan. Cloud's inclusion in Smash 4 was arguably for our market and not Japan's.

Considering this, it's not out of the realm of possibility that scenes in FF7 that aren't important to the plot of the game(but could potentially cause people to be offended and not buy their game) could be removed. I'm not saying that it's a given, but the potential is there.

Anything involving the honey bee inn and the crossdressing part could be seen as homophobic.
Some of the dialogue some women have while also some male characters in general could be seen as offensive to women and could be removed.

This remake is not just for fans of the old game, this is for modern video game fans. The game will be made with them in mind as well, if not moreseo than existing fans.

I'm hoping Cloud has the cheeky demeanor he carried himself with for the majority of the FFVII during the Remake, but at the same time they kinda allude to his fucked up past through small PTSD-like subtleties during cutscenes. It'd be a cool way to do foreshadowing for people playing the game for the fans, and a way to hit emotionally the longtime fans from the get go. Stuff like the thousand-yard stare has me hopeful. I just goddamn hope they take their time crafting this game and doing all they can to make it as great as we remember it to be.

And yeah, I agree it's got a really product-based look, but I like it more than pic-related, which seems to be trying to give a ridiculous hairstyle a somehow natural look.
