Why do grapplers exist? Does ANYONE enjoy playing against them?
Reminder that if you play Dhalsim, Bison or Blanka you're gay.
Eventhough Bison is kinda cheap he's not that bad but Dhalsim is just pure faggotry, try fighting your typical coward Dhalsim with a Dudley and then you tell me how "honest" he is.
>HURR DURR I'M NEVER OPEN GET NEAR AND I ELECTROCUTE YOU XD
>Play a character with a mediocre neutral game that can't open people up for shit without struggling his ass off
>Have a difficult time with characters that can defend themselves well
Ain't that some shit.
Actually i do well agains some Blankas depending on the player but still he's just annoying, up there with Dhalsim and El Fuerte.
But seriously Dhalsim is about as "honest" as it gets. The bulk of his gameplay hinges on "use your buttons better than the other guy's buttons". You struggle against Dhalsim and Blanka because Dudley struggles to open people up in general and depends heavily on gaining and maintaining momentum. He's Blowout: The Character, and to me that's far less interesting than Dhalsim or Blanka.
Fuck El Fuerte
Those mixups are easy to read just neutral jump as soon as he yoga fires, what annoys me is the whole jumping back while continuously attacking and when you finally get near he teleports behind you and it' the same shit all over again.
Eventhough Dudley is my main i play almost every character in SF and believe it or not my best option against a Dhalsim is Hugo.
>Low Risk/High reward
Stop. Grapplers only dominate at low levels of play, and keep up at mid level of play. High level of play, and they take insane amounts of knowledge, reads, and skill just to do anything.
>A style that is low risk/effort
Man all GG and KoF dickriders are fucking RETARDED
Are you that guy who said that GG is more honest than Street Fighter?
This isn't true at all, grapplers have no problem getting to do what they want, it just takes a few seconds for them to get in. This is even more so since "footsies" don't exist anymore
> Be 4kpp Bison
> Shitters compliment you for not using St.HK, cause they don't know how easily it gets whiff punished.
> Bison HK spam meme overshadows st.mk, arguably the best poke in the game.
>can't deal with grapplers
> footsies don't exist anymore!
>Respect grapplers except for Hugo
>The most grappler-ass grappler in SF
>LITERALLY the most honest grappler in SF
What did someone Hammer Mountain your mom or something?
Potemkin is the best grappler of all time. Still have never played a character as fun as Potemkin. Hell he isn't even good in most of his games but the way he plays is beast.
Potemkin is super fun yeah. I like Victor a lot myself.
In my opinion Tizoc is the best "classic" bulky grappler and Ramon the best of the "technical" grapplers.
>MFW this video
I will never forget it.
Kek. Grapplers BTFO.
Also, Bison BTFO.
Bison isn't for fags, unless we're talking Super Turbo, then yeah, Bison is for fags. A2 Bison is a dick too, but he can be honest too.
All those dumbasses who freaked out about Bison not having standing hk in SFV must have felt pretty stupid when he ended up being bullshit good in Beta 2 anyways.
Bison is one of those characters that for some reason attracts people who think their character is crap, even when top tier. Just like Ibuki players.
Clap spam is annoying as shit, and only exists to beat on people who don't know the matchup.
That's a funny way to spell "Wolf Hawkfield"
Theres surprise beta coming up. ps4 users can download 4gb patch thats titled " Version 1.08 - Overall renewal for next Beta Test" some people suspecting its for the review users but they get disc for it.
They are fundamentally high risk characters who require patience to play at any kind of high level since that playstyle almost inherently makes them more difficult to use in high level play and rely on hard reads. You need to be in the right mindset to play them. And as someone else mentioned they are relatively low execution in most games which is a plus for some people. I find that the people who play grapplers tend to REALLY like grapplers and might not be as inclined to explore the rest of the cast if they don't fit that archetype.
I don't really play them, other than Cerebella. I tend to prefer kinda faster mixup grapplers like Abel, laura, r mika who might not have very good 2 frame spds with tons of range like gief for example but use the command grab as a mixup option during their superior pressure.
What's wrong, can't handle the king?
Stop looking for the bulge it isn't there.
>decide to learn Bison as I've learned most of the other cast
>this button gets pushed literally 90% of the time
That kick is just so fucking good. Range, speed, damage is just nuts. It just stuffs so many attempts to get in too. Just get the lead and keep niggas out with kicks all day long.
To give us zoners something to humiliate
what do you guys feel like when you are matched with the most unique character of all, vega?
do you just stand there charging focus over and over for some reason even though you're rank A+ and
give me free wins?
>Was rank like 51 in CT online because I'd just play Tager and cheese people with atomic collider resets or get one combo into a sledge whiff distortion setup
Tager was fucking prime for garnering hate mail.
I only have an issue with SF4 grapplers that aren't Hugo. Because none of them play like traditional grapplers, or have the weaknesses grapplers should have.
>Gief has 3 simple answers to get through fireballs, combined with solid buttons
Combine that with sweep OSd into an SPD that catches the best backdashes in the game and some other ridiculous shit and you're not even playing a grappler anymore.
Makoto is literally more of a grappler than Gief.
You're acting as if the sweep OS wasn't completely trash, it's not a proper OS if you just have to block and punish.
It's as much of a mixup for the defending player as for the gief.
You're supposed to escape against grapplers, far reaching OS grabs to maintain pressure are just counterintuitive to that.
I understand that I'm supposed to be guessing against a grappler on my wakeup, and the decision to backdash and eat the appropriate punish and to block and eat and SPD is a massive part of that, but man does it rub me the wrong way when people talk all about how HARD READS and COMMITMENT grapplers take while all the best ones utilize the fuck out of these options. Gief literally has a move dedicated to beating escape options, and yet it's always used behind option selects. It takes the whole grappler mindset and flashes it down the drain.
