If Marle had an AoE heal i might consider using her through the game.

At 99 i use Crono + Robo + Marle for the triple tech AoE reraise, but Marle sucks while leveling and story. Lucca is way better while going through the story + leveling, with Robo + Crono. Fire Sword 2 > Ice Sword 2, Fire tackle > Ice tackle.

But since you are forced to use Ayla because of "Charm" shit, I only use Lucca when i have nothing to charm off the enemy. Frog and Magus are irrelevant in all parts of the game. Robo can do more damage + AoE heal then Frog. Lucca can bring the magic damage.

I still don't get what's so great about Chrono Cross. I tried playing it a few years ago, and getting the characters that you wanted was nigh impossible without a FAQ, and the characters that you did get had little to no development because there were too damn many.

The overabundance of characters meant that there were few dual techs, and combat felt really samey and ended up getting pretty boring.

The plot felt a little bit overly complicated and 'anime', but that's mostly my personal taste.


Given how many solid, even great JRPGs there were on the Playstation, why do people still hail Chrono Cross as one of the greatest JRPGs, if not the greatest JRPGs, of all time?
