Its not the worst game objectively obviously as it does certain things well enough, but overall a game has never made me feel so fucking bored and so goddamn depressed. I kept playing it for some time in hopes of it getting better, but it never did. Its so mindnumbing. Maybe I was already tired with the borderlands games and this being so flat and lifeless on its own, probably made for a very bad combo. I feel like I want to die when I even think about that game. Im not even joking, I literally want to kill myself whenever I think of that piece of shit. I spent 40euros on it too. What was I thinking.
All Aspect Warfare, I bought it before steam reviews existed without looking up reviews and couldn't figure out what the fuck it was. Everything I read about it in game and on the store page sounded like an epic game, yet no buttons worked and I was left a more cynical and money smart person afterwords.
This was when I was like 14, and to this day I keep it in my Library, a solemn reminder of what happens when you buy without thinking.
>>323774646 The Scourge is pretty shit Also I watched Fate Stay or whatever the fuck on Netflix and every character is annoying as fuck and the plot is stupid. Why do you weebs worship this shit instead of actually unique and engaging stuff like Kaiji, Morbito, and Lupin? You're disrespecting the fuck out of a whole culture by basically dumpster diving the nations body of content.
But you're not as bad as people who watch High School DxD
>>323776075 Well to be honest hearthstone is actually one of the least p2w tcg's since you can't actually trade the cards. RNG element is equal in every standard tcg seeing that you pick random cards from your packs and make your plays around them.
>>323774646 Prince of Persia 4/Reboot - boring 1v1 combat, complete rape of the namesake, collectathon, ending literally invalidates the rest of the game
Bioshock Infinite - Nothing but the same looking enemies with increasing health and damage thrown at you for an entire game, horrible story, no final boss/final boss is just waves of enemies in a AAA game
Republic Commando - 5 hour corridor shooter with 7 weapons, 10 enemy times, and plays like a shitty version of CoD with a decent Star-Wars paintjob. Absolute shit story.
>>323777071 Forgot my reason: it controls like you're pedaling through cream cheese, your basic aiming slogs along and doesn't always work, bosses are as unimaginative as levels, models from NSMB are reused, kazoos
>>323777421 King Arthur being a cuckold due to Lancelot and Guinevere, resulting in one screencap calling Saber a cuckold, and since /v/ links cuckoldin with interracial due to Sweden the whole thing morphed into Saber being a blonde who loves black men. The BLACKED thing is just the name of an interracial porn site.
>>323777581 Don't hate the games but while I did like the first Prime, the gameplay was slow & samus jump height was low. The platforming was also terrible, it also didn't help that none of Samus weapons or abilities either looked or worked like they did in the 2D games. But I still enjoyed the first Prime for what it was, Prime 2, & especially 3, & Hunters put too much focus on FPS combat the worst aspect of Prime thus some of the actual Metroid experience is lost.
Worst game I've ever played is Dota 2. Never played an ASSFAGGOTS before and I never will again. Only game I've permanently removed from my Steam account. >>323774738 That is being generous. It was a clunky mess of a game.
White Knight Chronicles is pretty high up there. Utterly braindead combat where you can create "combos" but it doesn't matter what you actually do because everything pretty much has the same result, shitty story full of retarded characters where your actual created character just stands in the background looking like an autist the entire time, focus on grindy and repetitive online quests, and basically no redeeming qualities at all. I bought it because pretty much every game Level 5 did on PS2 was great, and all I could think about was "what the fuck happened?"
The other one would be Frogger: The Great Quest. Because of, well, everything. It's a really bad 3D platformer that happens to have the Frogger name tacked onto it, it's buggy and ugly to look at with a fucked-up camera, the level design and platforming sucks, half the game is essentially busywork, the writing is cringeworthy even to a kid, and pretty much nothing about it works right or is any fun.
>>323777932 A fanfiction game that throws out its own canon to exist is worst than any Halo anon. Also don't go telling me to read Halsey's Journal (343 worked with Bungie on this Journal having Eric Nylund write it to TRY & fix Bungie's mistake) which didn't come with the Standard game or read 343's Data Drops only found on Halo Waypoint to try to understand Bungie's shit storytelling.
>>323777347 If you think they broke the canon by including an assault rifle you're literally fucking retarded, otherwise you don't know shit about Halo and haven't read the books. also >worst gameplay >not 4 confirmed for casual scum
>>323774646 I haven't played any literally terrible games, but the worst I've played is probably Torchlight. It's a shameless gear treadmill with a boring unoriginal setting set to repetitive music and a bad story thrown on top. Gameplay on all difficulties is to spam one skill - all others are irrelevant - and stack both Vitality and your class-respective damage stat, and pop a potion if things get hairy.
Torchlight 2 actually took its setting at least slightly seriously, and the writing improved beyond "whoa you're infected, better get a move-on pardner," and the idea of the classes from the first game being major characters in the second was neat. It was also prettier. But the one-skill-to-win was still there, and the treadmill was worse than ever - endgame was running dungeons for your desired gear over and over, padded out by insultingly high vendor prices and punishing enchanter RNG.
Is there a single ARPG out there that's actually fulfilling or is Torchlight a textbook example?
>>323774646 Well i usually never play games i think will be bad. Although i was unable to finish FFXIII, and i usually finish my games. Tera also gets an honorable mention. Gameplay was kind of neat, everything else was just too much to bare.
>>323778954 Reading ANN during the airing of UBW was gold. The girl writing the articles was so triggered by everything. >Saber tortured by Caster >Rin being molested by Shinji AND Kirei >Rin and Shirou's love moments
>>323776203 It would be equal in RNG if it didn't have cards specifically made with RNG in mind, Arcane Missile being one. And it's still p2w since buying a shitton of packs will inevitably give you cards that are strong in current and coming versions. Even if not, you can just disenchant them to make the cards needed for some strong deck designed around the current metagame or just retarded cards in general Dr. Boom. On top of this is some general Blizzard incompetence that as a whole makes the entire thing a frustrating experience to say the least.
>>323774646 I remember spending $30 on Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, thinking it was gonna be like Burst Limit. Worst fucking decision, nothing but glorified rock, paper, scissors. Also gonna mention Naughty Bear, got that on Xbox 360 and it was god awful. Friend and I got a sharp knife and scratched it so i can return it as "Didnt work".
>>323779405 There's a scene where Kirei, before trying to stab ring, touches her breasts slightly. Because, I mean, it's hard to tear open her chest without touching her chest. There was a commotion on ANN, about how Rin, a "strong and femail main character" had been reduced to a puppet for the pleasure of men, a sexual object and yadda yadda.
>>323779593 The porn elements of Fate are very minor though. But since the first episode, she announced UBW as "The adaptation of one of the most mysoginistic piece of media ever produced" or something like that. It was so cringe worthy.
>>323779765 Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works ends on a deceptively high note. I'm tempted to recommend stopping at episode 13 and jumping straight to this epilogue. All of the lightheartedness that makes the clumsy plotting palatable in the early going vanishes as soon as the second half starts. It quickly becomes clear that the show has no idea what to do with characters other than Shirou and Archer – a serious problem when there's a cast of two dozen and thirteen episodes to fill out. This one dramatic conflict was diluted far past the point of engaging storytelling.
At the same time, the production took a hit in this second half. The first half's thrilling fight choreography largely vanishes and we're left with characters launching particle effects and beam spam at each other. The set pieces became more drab (Unlimited Blade Works in particular was used to death), and the show takes on an exhausted tone. It's also ambivalent in its relationship to other installments in the Type-Mooniverse. It alternately relies upon and then denies a relationship to its prequel series Fate/Zero, creating a paradoxical experience. When it's adapted near-verbatim from the middle route of the visual novel, too many important moments rely on familiarity with the other routes.
All in all, I had high hopes for FSN:UBW in the beginning, but they proved unrealistic. This show just wasn't properly adapted into a standalone narrative, neither as a sequel to Fate/Zero or as a story that could be enjoyed independently. Courting so many demographics with different expectations for the franchise only turned it into a misshapen adaptive chimera. On a deeper level, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works is likely to satisfy only the most dedicated of Type-Moon fans who are able to digest all its contradictory adaptive choices à la carte as reflections of the full Mooniverse.
>>323774646 the original assassin's creed and borderlands 2
I didn't even make it to the end of the assassination it was so fucking boring. Borderlands was a touch less boring but compounded by being garbage visually, with the most annoying characters I've ever experienced in a video game. I made it to tiny tina and had to stop, I hadn't met a single character I liked the whole entire fucking game.
In all seriousness, I've finally decided to address something that I've alluded to before but never outlined in-depth: why Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works is 100% about masculinity and not just "ideals." I'll get to the brass tacks of episode 20's content shortly, but because this episode and the ones preceding it are so heavily focused on the writer's philosophical musings, I think it's important to put that stuff into context first, and to explain why it didn't work for me.
Rather than being about heroic ideals in broad, Shirou's story is about a “beta male” confronting various toxic images of idealized “alpha masculinity” (Archer, Gilgamesh, and Kirei) and rejecting them to become comfortable with himself as he truly is. I will explain these terms in more detail to fully clarify what I mean, and I do understand why people are attached to this story, but it's honestly not a comprehensive examination of idealism versus reality. It's certainly trying to be and easily could have been, but the story's baggage over gender is too heavy for me to read it as applicable to the world outside Kinoko Nasu's head. Stories about idealism should pit the ideal against the real world, but FSN:UBW fails to make its world recognizable enough to be relevant. This isn't going to be a nice review, but I'm not going out of my way to “target” anything but the work itself. This is what the story says, as I've been able to interpret it through now multiple versions. I can no longer refrain from articulating these ideas and confronting them as FSN:UBW goes downhill.
>>323780062 Other works have handled the relationship between heroism and gender well. Let's go back to the most relevant example in FSN's prequel, Fate/Zero. That work succeeded as a study in idealism because it depicted men struggling with toxic conceptions of masculinity. Kariya's flaw can be read as a selfish attachment to the image of men as women's providers and saviors. He failed to realize that Aoi, in choosing to marry Tokiomi, was a culpable party in her own daughter's victimization. Aoi did not want to be saved, and Kariya's repressed anger toward her for resisting his “help” contributes to his tragedy. Kirei's complete inability to relate to women betrays the degree to which his upbringing in the Church, a patriarchal institution, destroyed him as a person. Kiritsugu is a wounded child who pretends to be a stoic renegade (an archetype straight out of Batman's book), but surrounds himself with strong women as a place of safety. You can similarly evaluate most of Fate/Zero's other male characters. My point is that Fate/Zero's study of ideals works largely because it resists the objectification of women. It consistently undermines the common, self-serving ways in which men preoccupied with heroism use women to try and give their beliefs context. Kariya views women as objects to be saved, Kiritsugu views them as objects of sacrifice, and Kirei as pawns or agents of failed salvation (through his disastrous marriage).
>>323779968 I can still hear them, the screeches of defeated enemies wrenching in my ears, over and over. I expected the game to be simple and mindless, so i played it when i wanted to drown out. It served it's purpose for me, but would i recommend this game to anyone else? Fuck no. Should you listen to anyone when they recommend you this game? No way. You got what you deserve.
Dark Souls 2. What a fucking piece of shit that game is. It's ugly as fuck and literally everything is broken - hitboxes, animation, i-frames, poise. The more I played that game the more I hated it. And that fucking encounter design! Garbage, just garbage.
>>323778926 Read FSN, Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tohya, FHA, played just a little bit of Fate Extra but didn't finish, currently reading through Fate/Zero for first time. Also read two out of four novels of Kara no Kyoukai, currently taking a bit of rest from it. How do you think, when I finish, am I ready for Carnival Phantasm?
