Combat is pretty bad since they don't give you camera control and they added a skill system to weapons which force you to do grinding them if you want to actually do real damage. You might be able to get through it without all the bullshit on normal. As for story it's alright. Sorey and Mikleo are really the only ones that matter which makes everyone fight for second string.

Dark Turtlez was an absolute pain in the ass. The only reason I managed to beat him on Moderate is because I forced power combos on him with the Mikleo armitization and had a metric fuckton of healing/revival items.

I get what they were going for with the fusing but they royally fucked it up. The problem is once you got a set that have link skills you never want to take it off unless it keeps those skills. So you will be still using gear that are way below what you should be using. Also the randomize shops is annoying too. All it really needs to do is give me more control on how skills are past on. Don't know if the new game will keep it or just throw it away but I wouldn't mind them using it if it meant actually improving it.
