the most fun part of DD is to use new player made pawns and see what they are trained to do.

Like my own amazon snusnu pawn warrior grabs enemies a lot and tend to throw them over ledges, she also does a lot of jump slams due to watching me doing it.

You could prolly train your pawn to only pick up random shit to throw at enemies if they see any etc. Its a really cool system and missing out on it would suck

If it appears Capcom is going to make the game worth the money (updates, not nickel and diming people to death with DLC, etc) then I will most likely buy it. I have some extra money in my pocket, but I'm not sure what to buy. I'm being really stingy with my money right now because I'm trying to make it stretch. There's been a few games I've looked at, but I'm not sure if any of them are really worth my money. Pirated Darkest Dungeon and seems fun, but it being a roguelike turn-based RPG I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay into it later in the game. I played the starter edition of Diablo III and I was really sucked in.

When you play offline the game makes infinite pawns in the rift you can use also btw. Level doesn't matter they'll have gear and stuff representing their level. Online is really for Ur-Dragon hunting and hiring friends pawns off each other for rift crystals.

Strider, going into Assassin when you can switch. Assassin is basically the, "It does everything," class so is easiest to get a handle on when you're starting out. From there switch to whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it.

All the vocations are pretty fucking great, aside from Mage. Mage is basically for support pawns only. If you want to be a shitripping wizard, you've got Sorcerer for that.

The highest tier spells cast very slow, you can speed it up by acquiring some passive skill that increases cast time, a ring you acquire in a main quest you have to give away or not, if you make a forgery and hand over the fake or having sorcerer pawns in your party with the same spell you are casting

The highest tier spells are huge AoE stuff like meteors and tornadoes, if you want more direct stuff you can shoot fireballs, summon ice platforms, cast thunders, etc

If you want to sling good looking spell-like abilities often and have a more active playstyle then go Magick Archer.

Sorcs have a gimmick where they can cast stuff along other Sorcs more effectively so if you want you can go maximum Sorc with yourself and pawns to cast a lot of shit at once.

People will create all kinds of pawns appropriate for the kind of team you envision or completely ridiculous enough to just be a blast running around

The game is so open with it's leveling system that you'll find yourself playing with all kinds of skills and builds so it's doubtful you'll always want autonomy

My advice to new DD players: don't minmax your character. I see it as advice all the time and it's stupid. Base stats make a tiny difference compared to equipment, and aiming a build at level 200 is pointless because you can deal with any content in the game by level 100. Just play whatever's fun and don't worry about stats.

Fighter is great for starting stats 1-10

Ranger is the most balanced with highest Stamina increase

Can just go on the wiki but it's all irrelevant play what's fun. I've never given a mage a proper go though I only level it for vocations.
