Jesus fucking Christ, i hate this bitch!
Cynthia the champion on Diamond/Pearl. I know it's weird to mention something from pokemon but holy shit I have never struggled that much in a video game in a long time. It was kinda my own fault because a looooot of my team was weak to ground type so her Garchomp was able to practically 1 shot everyone with earthquake. I eventually beat it but that was from the constant leveling from failing at her and going through the E4 over and over again.
This fucking faggot right here, annoyed the ever living shit out of me on my latest play through of Nocturne which I have mostly been breezing through easily.
But this fucking faggot took a dozen tries because first turn he would just confuse my whole party and then RNG would shit on me and make me waste all my turns so I can't do shit and die. Repeat loading my save a dozen times until his skill misses a few people on the first turn then it was easy.
Still the hardest vidya related thing I have beaten.
>implying you didn't have trouble with him your first time through
Not really, no. I had more trouble with drowners on low levels. It's always like that with Witcher games, you start out super weak, but by the end, you can just click enemies to death.
Now they aren't that hard, but these fuckers is what made me ragequit Dark Souls 1 for 3 years before I came back and beat the game.
I swear I attempted them for a month before I gave up when Dark Souls got released on the 360.
Actually Elizabet is very easy in both NG2 and NGS2.
NG2 spam flying swallow with the claws and stun lock her
NGS2 charge scythe UTs and release when she does her floating backflip
>he takes away your gems so you can't abuse the shield
I was not prepared
>having to grind in a pokemon game
I beat Cynthia my first try
On a no grinding run
With an entire team of level 40ish pokemon.
You're seriously bad if you had trouble on her, not to mention ANY pokemon game.
I almost gave up at this point, fuck this boss.
I actually gave up on the final boss because I was underleveled from running from fights and was too burned out to play more.
>THAT FUCKING UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENE BEFORE THE FIGHT EVERY TIME
I could probably post several bosses from the Prime series, but this will have to do.
Special mention to the Boost Guardian.
Suddenly, difficulty spike.
The final boss was also really damn hard.
Both of them forced me to change my equipment and skills around completely and it felt refreshing as fuck.
I never lost a fight as the Old Monk and I just used the Kilij and none of my broken as fuck builds.
I dunno, mang, Prime bosses always felt like an elaborate game of "I Spy," where your health was your time limit and you were able to stack it to such ridiculous levels that you'd never lose.
It was always a mix of
>shoot everything to see where there's a response
>failing that, wait the boss to see if something changes periodically and shoot that
>failing that, switch weapon type
>failing that, look for something related to the latest item pick up (IE, morph ball)
I'd always get there eventually. I've taken 20 minutes on a boss before (fucking Prime 3), but I can't recall ever dying to one. Always too much health to worry about that.
I actually beat Demon's Souls last week, I was 2-0 as Old Monk with randomly put together paladin build. I had 5 total pvp interactions and only lost once and it was against some poison katana faggot.
Pic related. Not just the Bayo 1 version, but also the Bayo 2 version.
Hard as fuck.
wtf this boss holy shit.
Aztec Falcon is pretty much the ultimate casual filter for Megaman Zero.
He's not necessarily the hardest boss in the game, but he's definitely the one who turned the more casual demographic off from playing the Zero series.
most people think that the beam saber is the only viable thing to use a lot of the time. If you charge up the blaster and shoot from afar, a ton of the bosses become much easier. Especially Aztec Falcon
Zone of The Enders The 2nd Runner
2nd Anubis fight, in space.
pre Hexadrive patch
ITT: people posting a boss and saying how hard it was, then other anon responding to him saying how trivial it really was and how he was able to beat it on the first try
This dude got me the first time I went for a replay about a year or two ago. What worked for me was to put black spells on everybody. Get everyone to spam black and then have Lynx rape him with a high level black spell.
I loved every second of his fight
yfw he starts fucking flying and shooting explosions everywhere
IG shitters need not apply
Came across this guy the other day. I used to be a pro at taking down LuBu with arrows spam and charged musou but this guy doesn't seem to have a work around.
>That feel when soloing him
>That feel when soloing him with Gunlance
Of course, landing the Dense Marcoal charged dragon cannon thing is essential.
>no broken items
>straight up fight
I fucking cried like a bitch when I finally beat him.
Fuck this fight and its fucking unskippable cutscene on the original PS2 version.
>fight elizabeth on path of the master ninja
>get to 20% health without getting hit once
>get caught in her prison
>bug out and float in air
>have to restart 360
>happens 3 more times
Not really hard as fuck. More like annoying as fuck.
>is a flying stone gargoyle
>fires deadly laser orbs when you get too far
>bullets bounces on him
>only available weapons to defeat him is shotgun and tommygun
easy, seriously before the rebalance in princess you can just rape everyone with double geiser or w/e your jam is. Played as warrior and things get a lot harder. Still I was pretty diligent in slowly attacking harder enemies and ended up overleveled.
fucked hated how the game denies you a decent amount of demons
It was a fun fight, especially with that music blasting on, but honestly didn't even loose any health to him as he telegraphs his moves quite a lot and after the first pattern you can predict what he is going to do.
on the other hand... This motherfucker, especially on DanteMayDie difficulty...
Screw absolutely everything about this bastard
His last stage can only be damaged by aerial attacks, and whenever you ground stomp to get out of the way of the inevitable incoming attack you land on his freaking knee and gets hit by it anyway.
Doing the freaking thing with literally zero magic reserves was hell.
He is hard pretty fair outside of that last phase, yes. It's not that the aerial combat is that shit (I never really liked aerial combat in any slasher game). It has that quick jump down move, the problem here is that you can often get stuck on his knee if you're too close, and that can fuck you over on the last phase.
Oops, this anon said that already.
>with literally zero magic reserves was hell
That's what focus is for.
>That's what focus is for.
On the last stage of the fight you simply don't get many opportunities to reliably utilize focus, however, because blocking and dodging are simply not available for you because of The Knee. It's basically a game of pinging at it until it dies.
Would be an excellent boss without the weak spot nonsense.
You can exploit the AI quite easily. Bait him into doing a long range attack like the flail smash or those javelin rockets and get a few hits in. Then he does some close range AoE, you get some distance and bait another long range attack etc.
Not just a pun, but I never managed to beat the last one of these when I was a kid.
I could only play this on the 360, which for some reason, didn't get the patch that fixed the framerate AND upgraded the models and textures, so it was absolutely miserable, there was no strategy to the fight, just spamming zero-shift and praying I didn't get hit, which accounted for almost 30 retries
The absolute final battle in the core is just as shitty, because no one bothered to notice that all of the particle effects and small debris models were dropping the framerate to embarassing lows, that fight ALSO called for a fuckload of retries, since the input lag was unbearable, and dodging shit was yet another luck-based ordeal
Konami pretty much abandoning the 360 version while calling the semi-fix the PS3 got "good enough" was a good indicator that they were starting to really fucking suck. I don't know how someone fucks-up a decade-old PS2 game that bad considering how the MGS HD collection fared
This nigger right here.
He's a fucking joke on Normal, but he jumps around like Sonic doing cocaine on Revengeance.
Hell, even his COMPLETELY HARMLESS SMOKE GRENADES damage you.
Does he? I didn't notice any difference between difficulties except the damage they do.
Also the smoke grenades were never harmless. If you ever attempted a no damage run you'd know that.
