The Trails in the Sky series are horrible. Here's 13 good reasons not to buy them:

1. Conversations drag on forever

2. Extremely linear and you are locked into an area of the Liberl Kingdom with no way to backtrack in the first game and most of the second

3. Battle system is slow and clunky

4. Bosses are cheap and keep reviving their buddies just to be annoying instead of provide a real challenge

3. Incest-like relationship between the main characters...

4. 90% of the main characters are boring and unconvincing

5. NPC conversations are even more boring

6. Very little creativity or variation in quests (mostly fetch an item, kill a monster, help someone, or deliver something quests)

7. Back story leaves something to be desired

8. Very obvious stealing of ideas and names from Chinese, European, and Bible stories, places, and people.

9. Music is a hit and miss especially for the first game.

10. Graphical assets over reused in all three games

11. Pixelated textures slapped onto poorly rendered 3D models

12. Very easy to miss unimportant items or have quest time run out if you don't know exactly what you're doing (people who haven't played these games before are going to find themselves getting screwed more than a few times with these)

13. If you didn't like The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy (A Tear of Vermillion, Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch, or Song of the Ocean), there's a very likely chance you won't enjoy Trails in the Sky because the Gagharv Trilogy is much, much better

Exactly! From SC to Ao they did this rival connected to my dark past stuff where you could see it belonged to an specific character moment. Hell even Agate in SC has its own moment with Lowe fighting him on his own, Lowe being Joshua childhood friend and yet it was nice they have a dialogue and battle where Agate grown. Crossbell arc? they took them to another level where there was geniune pressure by the Jaegars, they killed people, npc and Shirley nearly killed Rixia precious friend and she started to hate her. Didnt expect that development, of course Wald vs Wazy, Sigmud vs Randy, Lloyd vs Arios and the conection everyone had with the new Anguis.

You can move around every town freely basically there are new highways that is connected to every place and dungeon, you can freely swamp any member you desire, you can use the motorcycle to move faster betweeen towns. Game is faster, almost no load time and has better animation overall with some updates in the battle system.

Slowly getting through TiTS SC before I start up ToCS. Is it just me or is this game substantially worse than the first?
