>was playing Dark Souls for week in row
>got to Bed of Chaos
>took a break for few days
>sudden urge to finish the game
>remember I have to run past whole Lost Izalith again
Why is that area such ugly shit? Only because they had to rush the second half of game or what? It's repulsive as fuck.
What is the most fucking retarded goofy ass build that is still plenty viable to beat the game with?
Using Kirk's armor and just rolling into bosses until they die.
Alternatively go for Path of the Dragon's shit and get the DKGA and see how many bosses you can one-shot with RTSR and Power Within.
Brother's giving it a try for the first time, so may as well roll for my brobuild.
how do I git gud at parry?
gwynand realize I've never actually parried. his dodge timings are tighter than your sister so I want to give parry a go but suck at it.
Maybe it's because I played the game before it got memed into oblivion, but I actually really liked Lost Izalith. Cool name, cool architecture and probably the most moving moment in the entire game occurs there.
Enemies are a bit shit, sure I'll give you that.
How the FUCK do Covenants even work ? I'm at the Belfry tower, and that dwarf asked me to join his ranks to protect the tower or something. I agreed. So now not only am I summoned once in a while on my way to the shitty Gargoyles fight, but grey spirits also invade me because apparently being in the covenant charged to protect a tower doesn't give me the right to hang out in that same fucking tower.
For each covenant you need to perform a specific task to gain tokens. I.E. sunbros summon to other worlds to help the player, get sun tokens. Turning in tokens grants you tiers (tier 1 is 25, tier 2 is 50 etc). At each tier you get rewarded with item(s). It just depends on which items you want from which covenant.
you rank up in the bellbongs by being summoned and killing the host. You can wear the ring anywhere and be summoned. If I remember correctly you don't really get any good stuff in that covenant so it's kind of a waste of time
This area is impossible to even mildly enjoy on the PS3 because the framerate just fucking dies. It's "playable", though. It just sucked because I've always played Souls on the PS3, except for SotFS which I don't have yet, but all my favorite characters were on there but it was just really not fun to play like that. Made me permanently switch over to the PC, but I'll always keep my PS3 so I can return to Demon's Souls. It's worth keeping my PS3 around for
(that, and ASB).
Sounds familiar, OP
>Hear great things about Dark Souls
>Pick it up and begin playing
>Explore first area, okay atmosphere
>Fight Capra Demon, get rekd by initial cheap shot, eventually beat him and his damn dogs
>Try to search for story while exploring - little exists
>Slog through area after area waiting for the game to live up to hype
>Painted world okay, but fuck those archers
>Beat Biggie and Smalls after getting rekd some more
>Think the worst is over
>Bed of Chaos
>Put controller down and never touch the game again
The boss isn't hard, it's just retarded. The whole area is.
>neon eye-melting glow
>that walking on lava sound effect
>leading to the worst boss in the game
>that breaks the rules by not resetting on death
It's not about not being able to beat him. It's about not having the desire to complete a game that the developers didn't even bother to finish properly - especially since the first part wasn't all that impressive despite all of your "git gud" meme posting.
I swear when this game came out NO ONE was talking about it being unfinished.
Post-Memegeddon and suddenly everyone parrots this opinion.
Suddenly quitting at Bed of Chaos is like some badge of honor around here,
To be fair, they are right. The demon ruins and lost izalith both feel super unfinished. Like they just rushed it out the door. Copy pasted enemies everywhere, boring level design. It doesn't have any of the polish the rest of the game does.
All these faggots rerolling. The whole point of a roll is you're stuck with what you get. Rerolling defeats the purpose.
Demon Ruins is basically a hallway with a bunch of capra demons.
Then it's Demon Firesage immediately into Centipede demon. The fact that its two bosses in a row is pretty telling about how unfinished the area is.
