So I've been playing the game for a while, and here are my special snowflake opinions.

+Combat is consistently fun; attacks have a good sense of weight and impact and almost all of the combat skills are useful in different ways
+Every class is well-rounded and they all actually function slightly differently; you get a completely different experience fighting will-o-wisps as a warrior and as a magic archer
+Boss fights are cool and feel appropriately grand in scale; the scaling feature is neat and something I wish more action games would implement
+The whole pawn system is weirdly engaging; I didn't expect building up your own sidekick to be that much fun

-The setting is really really generic. I get they were going for a standard D&D sort of feel but I still couldn't help feeling like I would be more invested if the game world was something I hadn't seen a thousand times before
-The game world itself is also pretty limited in size and complexity. There's pretty much no point to exploring if you're not doing a quest, and you spend most of the early game just running back and forth through the pass near Gran Soren just because it's the only path
-The game could use some variety in character builds. Aside from "Always pick up the Assassin perks" there doesn't seem to be any thought involved in stat allocation; you just level up your class and get better gear to become better.

Overall I like it. I know you guys don't care but I wanted to put down my thoughts coherently anyway.

Is the map necessary? I'm trying to maximize the screen space, HUD is horrendous. I basically turned off everything.

I did a bit of suicide BBI runs for the discipline ring, but otherwise been dicking around in Gransys on hard. Just hit 30, more interested in quest/monster knowledge and pawn training to be honest.

Figure I'm more prepping for release and a save swap than racing to the finish, save swapping is easy peasy and I'd like to have a reasonably leveled pawn who can kick ass for others. Probably gonna turn off the Hard mode to slow down leveling and focus on some gear and skills now.
