Do good fan translations exist, /v/? Can they exist?
Ace Attorney Investigation 2 seemed pretty good to me.
Considering the official releases had memes in them, I don't think they could have done much to fuck it up, though.

Mother 3, though the translator was a professional.
Sengoku Rance was pretty good

There's tons of good fan translations. Unfortunately many of them are wasted on shitty games while great games like Fire Emblem 5 are stuck with crap.
How do you know it's good or bad if you can't original texts

>Can they exist?In America
it would be real cool if fe5's translation didn't occasionally crash the game

Just throwing a random question out here, if I were to provide the original text and a translated version of a heretofore untranslated game, is there a place that I could post it and have other people check it out for accuracy or whatever?

If we're talking gookspeak and general vidya, /jp/ is the way to go but they'll most likely troll you to shit at the faintest scent of newfag. VNs and or H-games will get better reception at relevant generals in /vg/, it's just a toss up whether your critics actually know their shit or not.
Tales of Phantasia PS1 patch seemeed good

Those are the two places I've been planning to go to, but I was just thinking there might be a more "professional" place out there. Thanks for the advice.

Might try Legends of Localization.

try to make friends on sub groups' ircs, it'll take some time but if you can make a friend that is knowledgable and trustworthy, he might be willing to help you out

>more "professional"
I only into 4chan so can't advise outside of that honestly, >>323512589 is solid though
