Manliest sword every coming through. Cuts through a horse's neck like butter.
>he doesn't like giant, chunky sword from giant, chunky games
this thing looked like a design reject from Kingdom Hearts
Wow anon c'mon. Obviously it's the
Darksiders actually embraces is dumb edginess. The whole game feels like a 13 year old kid's version of Zelda. You tear the hearts out of bosses and give them to this guy.
From a gameplay perspective, you can make them rounded into doing a lot of things good but nothing generally better than things more specialized for poking, range, heavy damage, etc. For a hero archetype, you generally see them starting or filling the role of a jack of all trades and that kind of ties into it since swords are so middle of the road in the eyes of designers.
Can't find a better pic but fuck it, the Valiantium Blade (sp?).
I think this has surpassed ther Red Queen from DMC4 as my favourite video game sword.
I already liked the Moonlight Greatsword but this version is the coolest shit ever. Not enough good pictures of it around though.
One of the few legendray swords in vidya that looks both beautiful and practical.
Bayonetta 2 had a pretty cool looking shout out to it
>Valiance's sword, the Valiantium Blade, is said to have the power to cut in two anything in Paradiso or Inferno, and is prophesied to one day assist a team of over a hundred heroes in saving humanity from an invading evil.
Baby swords are cute.
Pic related is best WoW sword though.
Never really understood why they would give the shittest growth to the main character, but, at the same time, give him the coolest fcking attack animation with a dragon weapon.
Stop being in denial, m8. Zoid is far superior to every other weapon in WoW.
I love how Platinum always has these cool little nods in their games. That's how you know that their shit is memorable as fuck.
>11 is 4 years in the making
>nowhere near done
I always loved this thing's design and was disappointed that it didn't factor into the story at all.
Always thought it'd be cool if Mickey Mouse dual-wielded the Keyblade and this thing or something.
>have the choice of using firearms or sticking with the ainkurn sword
>played it through four times
>never used guns except on a random party member
It's in KH1s Ultima weapon, sort of.
The handle's kinda dumb but I like the overall look
>there are no video games that have kris'
>japs be jealous of this mystical poison blade folded 1000x
>Trigger on the handguard, half a foot away from the chamber
>No barrel or stock
Why don't weebs understand how guns work?
right here nigguh. BLU had the best aesthetic in the game IMO. Learning spells was so rewarding and I felt invincible with all my armor swaps. I remember the time I was trying to learn battery charge for like 4 hours. Then looked at my spell list and realized I must have learned it a few hours earlier without noticing. I beat myself up over that for a while.
Step the fuck off. Greatest sword of all time comin' through.
Oh look, over designed crap.
The artists at anet really forgot that being subtle can be very important. Everything they make now is over designed to hell and back. It's like what you'd find on the covers of a teenagers notebook.
It literally makes all other weapons in the game obsolete.
this sword can cause earthquakes and shoot massive lasers
>No auto scaling or quest to raise the level of weapons you've gotten already, leaving them completely underpowered if you obtained them at an early level
Fuck Oblivion and Skyrim
> cares little for or understands nothing about color or style
> nearly perfectly symetrical
> repeating paterns
> longwinded over complicated backstory
Its Autism: The Sword. Any doctor who saw this would immediately think autism.
Look ma we did it again.
move over singles faygots
superior pears coming trough
This guy's obsidian blades didn't get damaged at all from cleanly cutting a whole chcken in half and cracking the stand it was put on, and it isn't even an accurate replica.
It's not as brittle as you think as long as the razors are made right.
>implying there's only one guy on /vp/ who thinks macuahuitl's are rad
that's retarded though, it won't go through chainmail. Some of the Spanish did say that obsidian tipped spears occasionally did pretty good damage to their breastplates though, and only underpadding prevented them from getting killed.
This has gotten me rock hard since I was just a young lad. Before it became over-designed trash.
say that to my face fucker not online see what happens
>No one picking the giant sword made in memoriam of the greatest alien sword to ever exist that can also become a longsword and as the greatsword becomes a sheathe
Guys, what the fuck.
>His sword doesn't even tap into alternate realities and steal energy from them to create limitless blasts of raw power fueled by the multiverse.
Step up your fucking game niggers
There's the Chikage and the Bloodletter, they tend to scare people away because they are kind of risky if you don't know how to get around the penalties.
Whoa, are you serious? The greatsword mode does blunt-damage? Crazy.
But the Greatsword Mode is just a transformation of the sword itself after combining with it's sheath.
Still a sword my friend, but great riposte.
Admit it we all wanted it back in the day, no matter how impractical.
that's some nice swords you have there anons.
It would be a shame if anything were to happen to them.
>tfw when Onimusha was top-tier shit, even ended a trilogy with Jean Reno as a playable protagonist,
>and it's legacy became over the top anime bullshit and a shitty smash clone
I'll never get over this pain.
Say what you want about impracticability, this sword had a sense of presence you couldn't deny.
No I don't know how you are supposed to hold it
Dawn of Dreams is an action slasher trying to be DMC without Jumping. It's an okay game, but nothing like Onimusha if you go in expecting it to be like the original trilogy. Character Switching system is kind of cool though.
Proably one of the coolest looking default weapons in any game
Always liked A Link to the Past's better. Not a massive fan of the blue hilt and such. Second is Skyward Sword because I think the blue blade is kind of neat.
>5 Wind Waker
I like the ALttp and SS the most, the thinner blade looks better.
However, I liked that the Master Sword wasn't fucking huge compared to Link in OoT. It's size looks ridiculous on him in TP and SS, which makes no sense since its basically custom made for him
Why use a sword as an arrow when you already have arrows?
I am still playing ffxi. The end game actually uses us, it feels good.
I have a colada and a nibiru blade. I wish I had the patience to get a tizona to ilvl119.
Nothing to beat yourself up over.
spear would be neat. the Japanese make some nice looking spears
This far and no mention of the best sword to ever grace this series?
>not based Ashkandi
Sin'dorei Warblade, this sword is the shit. Other swords don't even apply.
>tfw no way to view the swords you have in witcher 3
The simple yet high end looking longswords in it looked really nice. Ciri's sword would have been GOAT if it wasn't for the giant hole in it
maybe it's like this.
every time Is see this shit
I like swords but I feel like they're too vanilla
I really want to like spears but I can't, they don't look as impressive or cool as swords
say that to my face in game fucker, not on 4chinz and see what happens.
Did someone say Sword?
>swing weapon 2H
>crush the poise of 3 people in the same zwei R1 sweep
>proceed to stam dump R1's and they all die like scrubs
>catching fags with the R2 because they don't realize how long range it is
Zwei is best weapon.
Sword of Althena is the best sword
>Simple yet elegant design
>contains powers bestowed by the goddess >weapon of the dragon master
10/10 would wear on belt
A lady was married off at a young Age to a count in a nearby land. She was blessed with a kind husband and servants, but her life was a bore. She confided her malcontent to her husband, who suggested that she go on a journey. There were many things she needed to learn as a countess, he said. She appreciated her husband’s understanding.
She heard many riveting tales From other travelers. There were Stories of farmers whose lives changed with the seasons; of children surviving without their parents; of the betrayal and treachery of kings in foreign lands. After two eventful years on the road, the countess began the voyage home as she had promised.
When she returned, the countess found her husband confused and weak. The mansion was in ruins, deserted apart from her husband and his favorite servant. Suddenly she realized that her journey had been the servant’s idea, a part of his scheme to take over the estate. "But surely a loving wife would notice such a plot?" he smirked.
The servant was arrested and executed, but the count never regained his health. He died quietly, leaving the devastated countess to mourn. She had his body cremated, and his ashes encased in a large sword. The butterfly engraved on the blasé was based on a mask the countess had brought as a gift for her husband during her travels.
dawnbreaker does not actually have any scaling based on the players' level in skyrim. it's always the same in skyrim. There are other items in skyrim that are scaled to the palyer's level though.
But if the servant wanted the estate for himself, why would he let it go to such shit? It would have been worthless by the time he had it, what was the point?
Well can't argue with that, what could be better that sword of pure soul energy made of future self.
>Looks like a giant etheral scimitar
>Highest damage in the game
>Boosts all stats
>Massive Armor Penetration bonus
In a certain country lived a feudal lord. This lord was enamored of the hunt; each day he rode out to find animals to slay, his favourite hunting sword by his side.
One evening, the animals of the forest gathered together in council. "We cannot survive much longer! We must kill the lord if we wish to live!"
So the animals of the forest surrounded the lord's manor, seeking a way in. But when the lord saw them all, he danced with delight. "So, they have all gathered for the hunt!"
With joy coursing through his veins, the lord rode out and slaughtered all the animals till not one remained in the forest. By the by, the lord lived happily on to a ripe old age.
That sword and the Oni form you can use at the end of the game were so fucking cool.
I hope one day Capcom can figure out a way to do an HD port, in spite of all the rights issues.
The dragon faced certain death, he lamented: why had he tried to save the life of a wretched human child, only to fly straight into the trap of dragon hunters? With his consciousness fading, the dragon thought he saw a man fighting. When he awoke, the man was treating his wounds.
The man who saved the dragon’s life aspired to become king. The dragon was not interested in such matters, but he thought that he would make a fine ruler. Suddenly, an arrow pierced the man’s chest. The dragon hunters had called in reinforcements. Critically injured, he groaned and fell to his knees.
Struggling to his feet, the man fought back bravely, but his wound was slowing him down. Just as it seemed he was about to be overwhelmed, the sound of tearing flesh filled the air. The dragon had torn out its own tongue! When the man pierced the tongue with his sword, a wall of flame spilled out burning the dragon hunters to ash.
"I’d hate to sacrifice myself for a mere human, but I do not wish to live with your death on my conscience." Said the dragon, as he closed his eyes. At that moment, a bond that transcended species was forged. With Flamberge in his hand, the man later became king.
This is the largest sword in the world, too heavy for any mere mortal to lift. It is believed that till now, no warrior has been able to wield it.
It was ordered forged by the warlord Vahk the Pitiless. Made from the melted armor of his vanquished enemies, the sword announced Vahk's might and grandeur to the world.
The sword grew heavier and heavier each time it took a life, and it gradually became more and more difficult to wield. At last, even its mighty owner could no longer swing it.
One morning, Vahk the Pitiless was found dead. Beside him, dripping with flesh and dyed scarlet with blood, lay the sword. Who had managed to raise the mighty weapon against him?
Well, in the original artwork, the gold accents weren't there. Still, I wouldn't have minded a better mix of old and new.
I actually hate the modern interpretation of the weapon having these weird lines on the sword. In the original artwork, it was cracks in the blade. This looks like it has circuitry or some shit running through it.
I much prefer the SoulCalibur 1 design but I will say that I almost exclusively used this weapon in SoulCalibur II, along with Nightmare's 2P outfit.
Pretty standard balanced sword moveset and the mode with the longest range in the game. baiting people with the transformation attacks is fucking fun.
>4 or 5 moves
it's practically a more brutish Cane.
Ninja Gaiden. When you upgrade the Wooden Sword, a weapons mostly useless throughout the game, to its max level, it becomes this weapon.
It is capable of performing Izuna Drop and, when below a certain percentage of health, the kanji glow and it does outrageous damage.
The Unlabored Flawlessness is the shit.
The apex of human ingenuity https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjA0KGskKHKAhUJxmMKHfm9BCoQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fnerf.wikia.com%2Fwiki%2FN-Force&bvm=bv.111396085,d.cGc&psig=AFQjCNEdRdC0dSDZ0CQT1cH6ynQHG1tGqw&ust=1452579864740509
In DMC4, Nero's Red Queen swung faster, hits harder, and can set enemies on fire when revved. You can also get a stocked rev if you time your hits right when pressing the rev button besides revving it as normal to get a stock rev.
Fable had some great fucking weapons. Probably my least favorite thing about Fable 3, in spite of all of its flaws, was that "unique" weapons were just named combinations of existing parts because of the retarded "evolution" system in the game.
Fuck that game was so bad.
They're on a different part of the sword you fucking sperg and the cracks/scratches are present on the remake buster sword while their absence or rather fewer number on the Crisis Core version is because it's newer and in better condition.
Prefer its Material/Blood Reaver look but I do love the Spectral form. Overall, I think it looked best in Soul Reaver 1. SR2's wasn't solid enough and, while I get the idea, Defiance's was a bit too on-the-nose. I liked how in SR1, it was more of an impression of the Reaver rather than looking exactly like it. It really looked like the weapon was unbound.
Well, it's good that the cracks are still there but I still dislike the weird lines toward the base of it. They weren't there in the original depictions and I think they just don't fit the original design, which was a big fucking slab of sharpened metal.
>tfw playing Jedi Academy for the first time
It most certainly did. Daichi was my favorite. I loved the skeletal motif at the bottom -- it wasn't super obvious. I also liked that they kinda fixed the depiction of Katanas in Fable 2.
>summoning magic sprites to channel the abyssal cosmos like Serpico channels the wind
I really love Starkiller's lightsaber from The Force Unleashed. Might be my favorite overall.
Not a weapon ingame, but still used
Only time I can remember a pizza cutter being used as a weapon was that French comic called Donjon Pizza, pizza delivery boys in a classic Medieval Fantasy D'n'D kind of world. Massive gore, leper zombies, nasty trolls and wenches with humongous tits everywhere, shit is fun.
monhan has some neat weapon designs
I like the design of the RIsing Sun more but it has kinda mediocre damage so I'm definitely more acquainted with the Daichi.
Asie frpm Solus, The Bereaver was thecoolest looking Greatsword in the game, perfect for an evil hero with the Daemon Helmet
It's like a giant wall of spikes
probably still my favorite weapon in the Souls series
easily have thousands of kills with it
