Buying pic related with my next paycheck. Haven't owned a console or gamed on PC since 2011ish. What games do I need to buy when I purchase the console?
make sure you buy Xbox Live so you can play all those PC games.
As a person that only has an xbone for games, I havent played a game in that console that I can recommend to you that you cant get anywhere else.
Ugh I truly hate to agree, but I do. Halo: MC collection is pretty neat I guess but yeah, I wish I bought a PS4.
Plus here in the Midlands, UK, PS4 games are on sale a lot more frequently than XBone games... and in higher numbers too.
Finally, I cant find the deals and offers page on Xbone store like I can on 360... I have a horrible feeling it doesn't exist.
Then why get the console at all? Get a PC.
I bought one a couple months ago. Forza horizon 2 is probably the best racing game I've ever played, but I'm not a huge fan of racing games.
Sunset overdrive is great, and I also loved alien isolation, it's multiplat though.
Because a PC that can play games AS WELL AS CURRENT GEN CONSOLES certainly ain't no $350.
Would I like to have a computer instead of a console?
Fucking hell yes I would, honestly.
I just dont see the expendable finances to blow on it coming to me anytime in the near future.
Also I own a ps4 as well, and a $600 budget gaming PC. There are minor differences here and there but really it doesn't matter what you buy. I don't think you'll regret getting any of them.
The PC is objectively the most powerful option and you get what you pay for. Building one is not for everybody, but if you have the ability, I'd recommend it.
Rare Replay since it's cheap. Get Halo 5 if you like fps. Forza 6 if you like racing. Killer Instinct, the best fighting game of this gen so far.
You get backwards compatibility too, which is great and keeps being updated.
OP here. I haven't bought any new games in about 6 years. Played GTA and skyrim for 360 a bit. I'm looking for something to pick up and play with my GF, a multiplayer shooter (probably Halo MCC) and a more expansive single player game (Witcher 3 looked interesting)
Xbox wouldn't be a bad choice if you don't care about exclusives.
Any company that's losing to a competitor will always be more pro consumer than a company who doesn't have to try and win people over.
Games you should get:
Dead Rising 3
If you're into racing games get Forza Horizon 2, alot more fun than the racing Sims that the main series is.
Don't get MCC that thing is a clusterfuck. Get Halo 5 if you love Halo MP that much. Witcher 3 was also a really good RPG IMO. Other than that you could get SSO and Rare Replay.
Better than Reach, uh? Hmmm... That sounds great cuz I fugging love reach 2bh
Mite check that out tomorrow
SO MP is shit and no one plays it
It's kind of a horde mode-ish type thing, but with a mix of side missions meant to be completed with a group. I played about an hour, but the MP is pretty much dead.
>tfw I just ordered pic related and can play almost every decent game on the PS4 and Xbone except for one or two exclusives on each.
Wii U + PC + 3DS is the best combo this gen, I can play 99.9% of the good games worth buying.
Not him but Halo 5 Forge is really fucking good. You can even have switches and shit that unlock doors, and there's more than 1 'forge world'. Seriously, Halo 5 is worth it for the custom games alone.
Ryse for comfyness
Halo mcc. Game is still active. Pretty comfy too
Halo wars since its backwards compatible
Rare replay. Viva pinata, banjo kazooie and conker make it worth it
Killer instinct season 1 is free right now if you have xbl
Gears of war if you want a multiplayer game
Dead rising 3 is good
You literally spent more on a GPU than it'd cost to buy 2 PS4s during a sale. I don't see how you can be proud of yourself when you're only going to be playing the exact same games anyway.
Yeah, but only 3 or 4 of the Sony exclusives are "good".
Ignore every other shitpost in this thread and buy these games
Wolfenstein The New Order
Dead Rising 3
Ori and the Blind Forest
I'm Canadian, everything is more expensive here.
PS4s cost around $500, new games are $79.99, and I'm going to be using this PC for work as well as other hobbies like animating, drawing, coding and whatnot.
I overspent a bit on the PSU, case and SSD, but overall this is a much better purchase than a PS4 would have been, especially since I won't have to pay to use my own internet.
Most of those on the PS4 side are multiplats. And pure fucking rancid shit (like that Godzila game and Akiba Trip).
Wouldn't sacrifice backwards compatibility for them famigo. Playing South Park Sticks of Truth on my XB1. Great game.
GTA V and COD:BO3 are the most played games you will run into multiplayer wise. Also, a good Forza title is a must have if you are into racing. 6 is the best, 5 has the most civilized multiplayer, and horizon is more arcadey open world.
Also, get a Gold account and download all the free games every month for both 360 and one.
>Playing Mass Effect 1 on a console
I have no idea why anyone would do that these days when you can bloody play it on a potato and you can mod the graphics easily to look so much better, also
>Barely runs it at 30fps
Consoles are worse than i thought, Maybe ive been too spoiled using a PC all my life.
I forgot its not. I think it'll be compatible next month, or this month. Its on the xbox webpage
You can play fable 2 and 3
And all gears of war games
And all halo games
Those games are pretty cheap now
No, I mean what I said. I don't want to have to pay to use the internet that I've already paid for, so that I can play the games that I've paid for online while using the console that I also paid for.
Online should be free, and PS+ should be a side service that offers deals and free shit. Hell, they could even just throw some ads on the 'free' version of the PSN store to make up for the 'lost revenue', I'm sure people would a lot happier to have the option to play for free at the cost of a few perks and some annoying ads.
I mean, there really is no reason why they need to charge for online, and if either the Xbone or PS4 suddenly offered free online again, it'd have a massive advantage over the one that doesn't.
Its a lot like how people think they need to pay a shit load for cell data because its actually expensive to provide. It costs next to nothing for them to give people internet, and unlimited data usage on phones is more than possible, but they won't do it because they've managed to convince retards that paying for it is worth it, even at the retarded prices they ask for.
>Don't kid yourself.
>PC+3DS is the only way to go.
But I can't play Smash with a cube controller on the 3DS, or Xenoblade Chronicles X, or Tropical Freeze, or Bayo2, or W101, or any of the other fun Wii U games that I can't get on other platforms.
I don't regret buying the Wii U at all, its a great little console with some cool features, and a very decent library of exclusive games, definitely worth the purchase and I've more than gotten my money out of it already.
Why are you so obsessed with reddit?
I just didn't want to spend more for a 980 because I don't need that since I plan to play everything at 1080p for quite some time anyway.
I just used Falconguide/logical increments and PCpartpicker to put it together along with advice from /g/ and /v/.
Nah, I still play smash at least once a week or two with friends, and I've still got Devil's Third and Xenoblade to finish along with Witcher 3 and Dragon's Dogma on PC
I don't even want to bother trying to think of all the 3DS games I still have to finish either.
I'll be pretty fine for a while with games, and even if Zelda and Starfox are all the Wii U gets this year
which I really doubt, I'm sure we'll get more reveals for upcoming games soon enough, thats more than enough to keep me busy just on the Wii U.
Nintendo can only make so many games at once, hopefully the NX
possiblybeing a handheld/console hybrid will help them get rid of these droughts
The nights that I'm not playing Smash I'm most likely playing stuff like Tabletop simulator, some cRPG, or something else on PC with buddies. We switch it up a lot, but the Wii U gets plenty of use.
I don't really like FPS games since they're all very samey though, so I probably wouldn't play halo at all even if I had an Xbox or it was available on PC
And yeah, I've already played DD too, but I never got to play Dark Arisen, so I figured I might as well wait and play it on the PC version that would inevitably come out,
My friends are PS4 cocksucker and demand me to have a console. I want Xbox One instead because my friends has PS4s and Wii Us but none the Xbone and for the sake for become a special snowflake (and also Rare Replay)
Is this a good choice? (I expect PC reply)
>RECCOMENDING A 970
Sorry but they would never fucking ever do that, you would have been shilled the 390 and with good reason you fucking KEK
Are you even more of a fucking cuck, why are tech illiterates even allowed to live
>buying an Xbone just to get a disc with a bunch of ROMs on it and to be a special snowflake.
I mean, if you really want to.
My general rule is, if you can't think of at least 5 games for a console that you want to play on it and can't play anywhere else, then you should get it.
If you can't think of more than 5 games on that console that you can't play anywhere else, then wait until you can.
I take it english isn't your first language?
Would your friends be expecting you to play online multiplayer with them? If so, you're better off getting a PS4 for that. If not, take a look at the exclusives for each and make your decision based on that.
Personally, I went with xbone since few of my friends have PS4s, we all do local multiplayer for the most part anyway, and since I missed most of the Halo series despite my friends raving about it it gave me the chance to pick up that and Rare Replay.
I said I asked for advice, I didn't say I let them build it for me.
From what I read after looking around, the 970 just seems to be better for games in general and tends to have drivers faster
I work full time as a tech support agent for Rogers and I've been doing freelance computer repair for over 10 years.
I've just never had the cash to build a nice computer for myself before.
Which is fine, I was reinforcing why I think its a bonus that I can play all of the multiplats that are on consoles, but without paying for online.
You guys can go ahead and spend money to use the internet that you already spend money on every month.
But I'd rather not.
I didn't pay for Xboxlive last gen on my 360 and enjoyed playing some games online on my Wii and PS3 and spent most of my time playing online games on PC.
This gen I'm doing the same, but I'm not bothering getting a PS4 or Xbone because they have no exclusives yet and both charge for online.
The few games I want on either of them are focused on online play, so fuck it, no point in getting them yet.
If you like fighting games buy Killer Instinct and MKX. They're two of the best fighting games in years. Otherwise
Halo mcc, halo 5, sunset overdrive is a must, titanfall, bf4, witcher 3, fallout 4, rise of the tomb raider etc
The Xbox one is amazing desu senpai
Get an external USB HD to install all your games. Atleast 2TB. It runs much better having all the games on one drive and the OS and apps on the other. Also, having all your games installed ready to go all the time is really nice as you can't run them with out them being downloaded or installed.
