I'd argue its worse than that. I think with how mainstream gaming has got now it's also introduced a kind of peer pressure, since AAA games are not only selling more AA games sell less(if they aren't already dead).

More people are buying the exact same set of games and less people are buying different ones(probably because those top sellers are charging an extra $50 for season passes). Annoyingly this is destroying types of the games I liked most.

I don't know about multiplayer maps because I never played black ops 2. The zombies map is huge though. The most interesting new factor is the specialist class you get to choose that gives you things like teleportation, active camo, superspeed, or unique weapons.
