I don't get it

Why they keep making games more childish and childish when the main audience are people 20+?
Kids don't buy games, adults do
>>
childish or not, I want to have fun.

kids know how to have fun more than adults do.
>>
he makes games for his daughter.

That's why sexy sylvanas is gone.
>>
Blizzard games are one of the most normie mainstream shit nowadays though

adults that still play video games are mentally children

the adult thing to do is find stimulus that exists irl that is theoretically limitless rather than be bound by a program another adult created
>>
>>323449241
Why do people become terrible when they have kids?
>>
20+ time people with money dont have time to play games
<20 gamers have infinite amount of time and their parents money to give to the devs who use psyochological tricks to get the money out of naive consumers

people who have jobs are never main focus of games

What are you talking about? Do you mean why do they dumb down their mechanics?

That's been Blizzards shtick since Warcraft, it was a simple to learn RTS anybody could get into. The only complex game was Diablo and that was made by Blizzard North. Who I remind you wanted to make it turn based and Blizzard said that was retarded.

Well, for one, I don't consider the enjoyment of anything to make me more childish or mature per se, so I don't find your statement totally wrong.
I still enjoy the original SMB, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy its polar opposite, unlike you, who needs to gloat that an industry that always aimed to young audiences is still aiming to young audiences is wrong because you're not young anymore.

Hearthstone is the #1 grossing game on both App Stores and we're talking about markets where the winner makes billions upon billions

I'm sure Blizzard is unhappy though.

>>323450747
I'd like to know what you consider "Mature Literature" in gaming, or in anything for that matter.
I grew up embracing the good things in life, and not pushing them away because I'm a dogmatic faggot like you are.
By the way, why would I play SMB for it's literature? Why would I talk or discuss with a straight face the literature of early games?

Does it make your small e-penis flinch?
>>
>>323449491
Some kind of conservative maternal instinct. Same shit happened to Penny Arcade.

If you make anything creative, you should not have kids. It's what's best for everyone.
>>
>>323449232

Then kids should be designing games, not adults.

The devs are not as young and imaginative as they used to be.

The simple fact is, a lot of people become extremely boring as they age, starting to care more about practicality and political correctness more than their own ideas.

It looks that way until you get exposure to the industry.

Most creatives are heavily constrained in AAA to make money, and the businessmen in charge have a very limited understanding and very finite idea of how to do that.

Regardless, they end up calling the shots. Most designers I know are frustrated beyond measure and have gone into mobile hoping for even a sliver of the creative autonomy they used to have. Also because it pays about 200% better as evidenced by >>323450621

Believable when you watch his Overwatch character interviews.

He talks about all this backstory they pay him to come with that not a single person will end up giving a literal fuck about.

>>323449163

According to the thread last night, the game being good doesn't matter, as long as the hype is up Kotick makes money from his share.

They can funnel money endless from their other projects and keep cranking out new shit content from WoW so long as people don't freak out and start selling their stock once WoW is nearly dead.
>>
have you seen their revenue statistics?

Video games are inherently childish toys.

>>
>>323457278
No one cares about character development in a shooter.
>>
>>323457072
I think that's the phase they've been in for awhile: slowly allowing WoW to pass, while boosting up their next cash cow. It's smart not to just let it collapse all at once, but it's obvious they do not care about it anymore.
>>
>>323457604
Okay I thought that might be where you were going. I'm not familiar with Overwatch, but I at least appreciate them trying to elevate the genre even if it is probably a waste.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
